I love to look at Tom Cruise...but even his looks were not enough to make me sit through the whole movie. Script was sad.
I love action movies...but this was a waste of time.

Hmmmmm!

I've never read the book or books pertaining to this movie but If you're looking for Characters with loads of energy and "Theater chair Gripping" adrenalin rushes then this is a movie for you! If you enjoyed him in the Mission Impossible thrilogy then you'll love Tom in this!

New Years Eve Movie

This movie was made by Tom Cruise and he sure used that opportunity to showcase his talent........ridiculous and laughable. i didn't know it was an action/comedy! It was like a B movie with one "A" lister. It was entertaining at best, so my advice is wait for it on DVD.

Very Well Done But Could Have Been Better

I'm a big fan of the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child. I'm currently reading the last book in the series, A Wanted Man. Although the movie was very good, I still think they should have cast someone besides Tom Cruise to play as Jack Reacher. Not only is Tom Cruise a lot smaller than Jack is in the novels, he also was a little too cocky. In the novels Jack is portrayed as very confident but in a more subtle way, not always rubbing it in your face. I also didn't like some of the changes that they made in the story such as the area where the shooting took place and the final showdown with the villain and his crew. That having been said, I still think it was a very good movie! Go see it!

Great Thriller

I've read all the Reacher books, and Cruise nailed it, even though his stature is less then the character in the book. Cameo by the author was cool as well. Great characters in the movie. You've got to see this movie!

Very Good adaptation

I see the trailer around 2 months ago and begun to check the books, and the movie take many essence of the character and transfer very good to the story line and the practical jokes are over the top. I feel very satisfied with the movie.

Doesn't Reach the Top Shelf

Lee Child has written a series of books with the rich, layered character of Jack Reacher. Cruise and director McQuarrie bring it all tumbling down in one film.

Cardboard characters, horrible writing, uber-violence and "speak slowly because the audience might be too stupid to connect the dots" acting.

Despite Tiny Tom's limited acting abilities, I was really hoping that this movie would work. But it takes more than explosions and car chases to make an enjoyable film.

Well Done

It isn't exactly the real Jack Reacher with a 5'8" actor portraying him, and some of his philosophizing was off key, but it's a high quality production with a good cast and script. As usual, the book is better than the movie but it's good enough that we're sure to see future editions.
You're not going to recognize Lee Child in his cameo role based on his photo in the books. He has aged considerably from when the picture was taken, but it still was a nice touch to have him in it.
No Reacher fan should pass this up.

Tom Cruise is always cool under pressure!

Definately a movie worth seeing. Not for the faint at heart as there is killing in the movie that is just plain CRAZY. But I guess it's what people like to see. Nevertheless, the movie had a bunch of twists and turns and the story line was good. All the actors were fantastic and it was a good ending. Pick up your bags and go see this movie!

Action packed!

I gotta say, this was on fun movie to watch. If you want a movie with action, suspense, and some drama, go check out this one. Tom Cruise is at his best once again, and his age is not stopping him. He is on the hunt for the people who gunned down innocent civilians and will do everything in his power to get the bad guys. Who can you trust?? The ending will shock everyone. Go check it out and have some fun this Holiday season. Looking forward to another one!

loved this movie

I dont understand any negative reviews that this movie may get. Instead of the standard 15,000 round shoot fest, this movie was smart, funny, very well acted, and just the right amount of action. I am a movie buff for sure, and most movies bore me. But my wife and I both really loved this movie. Go see it for sure.

Real good action. I hated to see them wreck the Chevelle, broke my heart. Plot was real interesting. Cruise is believable as a confident but reluctant tough guy. Great characters. You got to love Robert Duval.

After the incident in Sandy Hook, we were a bit uneasy about going to see this movie but a few minutes in the story/movie, we were trying to figure out the clues.

Actually a really good movie

As a rabid fan of the Jack Reach books by Lee Child, I was disappointed when I saw that Tom Cruise was being cast as Jack. However, once I got past the physical difference between Tom and the book's version of Jack Reacher I was totally sucked in by the story, even though I knew what the ending was from reading the book. Tom does a great job with Jack's persona and the rest of the cast was also totally in character. If you like action with some mystery and intrigue, this should be a great movie for you. Go see it.

Thanks Tom...another hit!

I really enjoyed this flick...have not read the book series so I can't judge if the script is true to the book, but it was an exciting 2 hours...not slow or boring. Very entertaining and best of all it has redeeming qualities...justice not political correctness...humor without the toilet...love it!
