I had my doubts about supporting the "Tom Cruise" franchise, so I alomost didn't go. But I did go and the movie was excellent! For the first time in a while, I was bummed when it was over. Hope they make a sequel!

Mission Impossible Meets A Few Good Men

Great movie! It fits Tom Cruise like an expensive suit!! The acting is great and the supporting casts is well picked to give the movie a big screen made for TV feel.

The plot is well written and easy to follow with a few good twists and turns to keep it interesting. It was totally PG. I have a suspicious feeling we will be seeing more of Jack Reacher.

If you read the books you will be disappointed in the choice of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. He plays him like a cocky punk. In the book Jack is 6 foot five and brooding. The villain
in the picture would have made a better Jack. He is tall and built. The last fight scene was dumb. Tom beats up this guy who is twice his size.

Good film but could be shorter

They used the book pretty well and scenario more or less matches. Humor is nice and whole film is fun. But I think that the car chase is really unnecessary.

Lots Of Action...Far From Boring.

You get what you paid for in this film...lots of stunts and action. Sadly, there's much else here. If you need a break from the musical extravaganzas and family comedic romps currently on the screen, this wouldn't be a bad choice. It's entertaining enough, meaning it holds ones attention for the duration. As for satisfying, well I suppose that's a judgment call. This viewer enjoyed the film. So I say, see it, you won't be disappointed.

WE SAW IT LAST NIGHT! IT WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE . TOM CRUISE DIDN'T DISAPPOINT AND THE STORYLINE WAS VERY GOOD TOO. ITS A MUST SEE FROM US!

Went and saw this based on the viewer reviews since everyone said it was so great. Well I'll be the honest one here and say it was just okay and very predictable. It didn't start out to bad but then it just kept going with the typical one liners and the typical fight scene at the end ( don't worry I didn't ruin anything for you its a given) . Unfortunately they ended this movie where they could do another one. If they do make another Reacher they'll be lucky if I even watch it on DVD ! My advice is to wait for this one on DVD or better yet on TBS or FX cause the commercials will make it more enjoyable.

Must...Have...More...Reacher!

I've seen quite a few movies lately and I must say I didn't enjoy any of them any more than I enjoyed Jack Reacher. Lots of action and clever, funny lines make this movie fly by from start to finish. I hope moviegoers see it and like it because I want to see the next Jack Reacher film. I think Cruise hit a home run with this one and I must...have...more...Reacher!!

it was a good movie

Captured the essence of the books... total bad***! The downside was that he wasn't bigger, taller, like in the books. Tom may be a big name, but that doesn't equel stature.

Horrendous, Unbelievable, Laughable

Where to begin? Within the first five minutes, it is crystal clear that this low-budget, poorly written movie would be a true stinker. Beyond the fact that Tom Cruise bares no resemblance to the hulking character of Lee Child's Jack Reacher -- the acting is abominable. The one bright spot was Robert Duvall's portrayal of Gunny. Run, with your toothbrush in your pocket!

Best movie in a while

I don't much care to Tom Cruise and almost didn't go because of that. However, this is a 'sit on the edge of your chair' movie that has no dull spots My wife equally enjoyed it.

Tom Cruise has done it again. This character was fascinating, his strange moral code that only he understands was a great touch. His lethal way of handing out justice was great. The only complaint I had was the lead actress, she lacked the chemistry with him other than that it was good couple of hours spent.

Holiday Surprise

At times this movie reminds me of sitting at home watching a crime process show but you're hooked in by the great writing, interesting story and Jack Reacher's character. There were some classically written scenes (in the bar) that stood out and made you laugh while keeping you on the edge of your seat with compelling action and fight scenes. The criminals are menacing and you are seriously rooting for Jack Reacher just 30 minutes in so some clear lines between good and evil are placed. A great ending with a good standoff capped off the holiday weekend surprise movie. Not a movie for idiots and muscle heads there is an actual plot to follow and details you need to absorb or you may get lost in the story. AN indicator to how good this movie was that anyone who had to use the bathroom made it very quick and ran back to their seats. If you don't want to see a comedy in "This is 40" go see some action and check this one out.

Great cast, great movie

Do not miss this one. Movie is as good as the book. Maybe better. Cruise is well cast as Reacher. Robert Duvall is wonderful as well.

I have read all the books and enjoyed them. Forget the noise that the media is making about Cruise not looking "enough like Reacher". Is nonsense. After a couple of minutes, Cruise is Reacher and the fun begins.

Hope to see other Reacher novels made into movies. "One Shot" is not, in my view, one of the stronger books. There is more fun ahead if that happens.
