Another Cruise Action Flick

I enjoyed this movie, even though there were your typical action parts that are hard to believe. I enjoyed the "who done it' part of the movie. Just wish there was more of that and not the action parts. Not a big fan of the action parts which are so hard to believe they could happen in the real world. But I do recommend going to see this movie.

Definitely worth the view!

The movie "Jack Reacher" will never be able to capture what the book does; Jack Reacher's thoughts, mental calculations of trajectory, weight, height, number of adversaries to be eliminated; who the leader of the pack is,etc., but all that aside, it does the best that can be done. I strongly advise reading the book, "One Shot" first, which you will enjoy immensely, but then see the movie. If you are a Jack Reacher fan you will enjoy it. I agreed with so many others, Tom Cruise is just too short, but honestly, I didn't notice that as much I thought I would, and Cruise embodies Reacher in all other ways.

We saw the movie last night. Just loved it. Great body language, acting great. Loved the plot and how it was played out. An all around good suspenceful movie.

Lots of Action!

I have to admit I haven't been the biggest Tom Cruise fan of late because of his unusual behavior BUT I liked this movie! I have not read this series of books yet but adored the character of Jack Reacher. The plot was deep enought to keep you guessing and the dialog was witty. It may not be for everyone if they don't like shoot-em up films but it was well shot and directed. I'd recommend it to those that like action flicks. Makes me want to read the series now and I hope they make another movie with Jack Reacher soon. I'll be the first in line!

great movie

I am not familiar with the books, but I know of the character from people who have read the books. No, Tom Cruise is not 6'4", but he did a great job. He's fantastic in action movies. Aside from that, the movie was good, also; action scenes were good and Robert Duvall was funny.

Predictable but worth the money

Not Cruise's best acting but it delivers a good story line and is worth the $11.50 for entertainment value. Many will be made uncomfortable by the first scenes of sniper fire, especially since we are still raw from the tragedy in CT, but if you stay with the story, you find out that the shooting scene is important to the plot and Cruise's part in solving the mystery behind the shootings. Robert Duvall is awesome as always in his cameo role.

I'd recommend if you just want a mindless adventure for a couple hours.

Excellent action flick

If you like The Bourne franchise or the recent Bond movies then you will enjoy this too. Cruise is great in this kind of role and the movie is well paced and entertaining.

Pretty good for aTom Cruise comeback.

A good, action flick with not a lot of over the top violence, or unneccessarily gaudy action scenes as has become the norm with "military-themed" action movies.
Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher makes very good sense, as the biggest, loudest guy in the room is not necessarily the most dangerous....usually the wanna-be in the crowd.
Also, it seems there was a painful effort made NOT to force romance into the movie. However; you can see where the attempt was approached to insert some sexual tension in, but it was intentionally shot dead.
Bravo on that. It's a thinking man/woman's action movie.

Not too shabby!

I was absolutely not even thinking about going to see this movie until a buddy of mine told me he went to go see it and that he enjoyed it.
I like many of you, was a little put off by the advertisements for it and figured it would be another short bus type movie...
The acting is not bad and the story line is fairly good.
I'd say the movie falls off at the very end (last 5mins), but not badly.
All-in-all with a lack of good movies out, this one fills that empty slot between okay - pleasant bowel movement.

Entertaining

Not having read any of the Jack Reacher books, I don't have a frame of reference to rate Tom Cruise as a "true" Jack Reacher. The movie was entertaining and a good escape for the time spent. I'd see it again and maybe now read a Jack Reacher book.

Suspensful, action filled thriller

This was a very good movie. It was filled with suspense, action and thrills. Tom Cruise was great in the role of Jack reacher and the acting by the other characters was also quite good. The plot moved along welland continually held one's attention. I enjoyed Robert Duval's part in the movie; his role was a good compliment to Tom Cruise's character.

A good entertaining watch

I was very skeptical of Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher after reading all the books. Jack is, afterall a huge guy, but i left the movie very satisfied. The story and the character stayed true to the books, and was a stand alone story. All loose ends were tied up and Jack is back on his way. Open for more movies in this series. I certainly hope they make more!

Classic Thriller

I went in to see this movie doubtful that the 5'7" Cruise could play the 6'5" Reacher. He does an admirable job, and the script follows the book very closely. An absolute surprise that I liked this movie so much. It really captured a lost art in movie making, that is, using smart dialogue, plot and intrigue to hook viewers. Well done.

Entertaining and Fun!

The overall movie was action packed. I liked the movie. Cruise;s acting was superb as usual. The acting was great, the cinematography, writing, and execution of the film was well done. I would not take children under 14.
I rate this movie as a go see. Though I am NOT a CRUISE fan, he is an amazing actor.. I saw this movie weeks ago..

Boring

This movie was incredibly boring and reminded me of a law and order episode. No action and no suspense....just plain boring. I walked out. There are several other great movies out right now to spend your money. Don't waste it on this one.
