Pretty bland

Cruise is a brilliant actor but the movie was bad. Boring, bland, vague as to plot, if you didn't read the Reacher books you would be completely lost as none of the characters including Reacher were even remotely introduced. The leading lady was completely devoid of any personality or facial expression, very strange. You could easily fall asleep in this movie. Too bad, it should have been a good movie.

Happend to go with friends but was not originally going to watch. Pleasantly surprised.

Ok ok I was one of those that was making fun of the trailers and had not desire to actually watch. Some friends were going so I just went along. Boy was I wrong. This movies was actually pretty interesting and at times gripping. Tom Cruise pulled off a really interesting character in this. Former military and lives off the radar but has his own strong moral sense of right from wrong. The investigative sequences were pretty interesting and the cast was ok. Overall had pretty interested through the caper. Some of the fighting sequences were predictive while others were really cool, tense, and at times funny. Overall I liked it and was definitely worth watching on the big screen.

Great Movie alot of action

Very good movie, not the biggest Tom Cruise fan but I really loved this film, keeps you really into it the whole time, makes you guessing also. Would go see it again.

WOrth going for!

Cruise is NOT one of my favorite actors, but he did a really good job as Jack Reacher. The movie is well written and keeps the audience engaged and guessing up to the end! This is obviously going to be Cruise's newest series of films. Looking forward to the next one!

Reacher was much better than expected

Other than Cruise being 5'6" instead of 6'5", this is a great rendition of one of the many excellent Lee Childs Reacher novels.

The story flows along very clearly with good dialogue and action. There was none of the silliness that the Mission Impossible series has degraded to.

Hopefully this will be the first in a series!

Interesting Movie!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie because I didn't know much about it before seeing it. Other than of course Tom Cruise being in it. I am a fan of his so that pushed me to see it. It was an interesting movie because it wasn't solely an action movie. You really don't know what Jack Reacher is all about until the end. Which makes it interesting, I suppose. I recommend the movie overall.

When's the Sequel ???

I am probably like millions that enjoy the Lee Child Reacher series - i was REALLY was excited when i saw the headline that FINALLY we're getting a Reacher movie! But within seconds after moving my eyes to the story & was bewildered that Tom Cruise would play Jack himself? So there i was - exhilarated one sec - stunned the next - Promised myself I not to watch the trailer but best laid plans & all that.. so the trailer comes out & it didn't look bad. The week before the release & almost as if against my will i put in for a vacation request that day - not sure why - but i know somewhere in the back of my mind a plot is hatching.. went to the first showing on Friday & LOVED IT! Very smartly made movie with excellent mix of action - one liners - Jack being Jack - sort of like Liam Neeson's Taken persona on steroids! - a MUST SEE as i am now speaking for millions of Reacher fans when i say CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT ONE! Thanks Tom for taking this on & giving us what we have wanted

Not a Tom Cruise fan

I am not a fan of Tom Cruise. That being said, The movie Jack Reacher is a must see if you like Legal Dramas, Fight Scenes, Gun Fights, Car Chases, and/ or Revenge movies. Jack Reacher was written, produced, and edited very well. There is no nudity or sex scenes, so in my opinion older kids could see it if you don't mind them seeing bad guys getting killed. The story lacks any real twits but it is very entertaining. A really good "Guy Flick".

Great action flick

My husband and I really enjoyed this movie. Lots of plot twists which kept it interesting. I had read some of the Jack Reacher books so I was in the skeptic group about Tom Cruise and his size not living up to the book version. This was not a problem at all. Tom did a great job as always in this kind of show. Rest of the cast also had good performances.

Exceeded Our Expectations!

We were prepared not to like this movie having read all the books and seeing the promotional clips but thank goodness we were wrong....this movie was fun and nothing like what we expected, which was a great thing. We highly recommend taking the time to see this movie.

Tom Cruise was not our first choice to play Reacher but he did an excellent job in capturing the character that we have all come to know and love. Kudos to Tom.

Slow start then MANY twists and turns

Thought it was as good or better than Cruise's Mission Impossible movies. Loved the plot twists and surprises. Hoping there will be more in the series.

Surprised!

I didn't think Tom Cruise could pull off playing Jack Reacher having read the novels by Lee Child but he did quite a nice job and the story line was quite close to the book...With the exception of the car chases.... In the book there were none and most of the chasing was on foot in the book... Since Jack Reacher is basically a drifter without access to vehicles. Good movie definitely a must see.

Lots of Action!

I have to admit I haven't been the biggest Tom Cruise fan of late because of his unusual behavior BUT I liked this movie! I have not read this series of books yet but adored the character of Jack Reacher. The plot was deep enought to keep you guessing and the dialog was witty. It may not be for everyone if they don't like shoot-em up films but it was well shot and directed. I'd recommend it to those that like action flicks. Makes me want to read the series now and I hope they make another movie with Jack Reacher soon. I'll be the first in line!

Good Story Line.

I liked the lay out of the story line, but I think the lead role could have been done better by some one else like Jason Statham, Daniel Craig, or Liam Neeson would have been my choices over Tom Curse.
