Better Than Expected.

Cruise plays it well. True to the book! Only issues was Reacher was 6'5". They didn't try to make Cruise look taller..... but I did miss that sense of a huge presence.

Great movie...Cruise did a great job! Both my date and I really enjoyed it. Good action and storyline...we were thoroughly engaged the whole time.

Was a decent flick...

Disclosure: I never read the book

The movie was about what i expected and not much more. Having never read any of the prior material I went just for an easy-to-watch action flick. There was a bit less action than I had hoped but overall found it to be a decent movie as long as you weren't looking for something too fantastic.

I am not a big Tom Cruise fan but this money delivered it all with action, suspense, and twist and turns that you never thought would happen.

Great action film!

I really enjoyed this movie! Great set of cast members! Tom Cruise is great, and does well playing this type of character. Lots of great action sequences, and a great storyline that never left me bored. Hopefully we will see more movies based on this book series starring Tom. Now I just need to go and read the books!

Wow...I actually liked it.

I'm a female who usually isn't a fan of these types of movies. That and not the biggest Tom Cruise fan. But I immediately was drawn into the plot and loved every minute of it.

Not Bad

Went to see this while my wife and daughter went to a chick flick. Good story with good action. Typical bad *** ex-military guy that can handle any situation. Not a Jason Bourne but very watchable.

Jack Reacher blew me away!

My wife basically told me we were going to see Jack Reacher... I wasn't super thrilled at the idea. Left the theater feeling fully entertained! Not a single dull moment in the movie. Clever plot line, along with perfectly cast actors. Not only were the action sequences top notch, but the unexpected comedic moments had me laughing out loud... It was awesome!!! Definitely buying it when it comes to blu-ray! Go!!!

Enjoyed the movie very much. I am a big Jack Reacher fan - have read almost all of the series. Since I knew the character, it was hard to watch Tom Cruise. However, my son and husband thought he did a great job!

EXCELENT MOVIE!

This is a great move for Tom Cruise! It gives the viewer the feeling of even if your the little fish in the pond you can still have justice! Great movie that starts strong and keeps you thinking throughout the entire movie! No stone is left unturned, and the plot and characters just keeps building until the very end!

Get out of the house, let the "stink," from the holidays blow off you and ESCAPE to this thrill ride of a movie!

Critics Missed It

I have read all of the Lee Child novels and was skeptical of Tom Cruise buying the rights, but the movie captured the essence of the novels. Cruise showed his maturity by focusing on dialogue, storytelling, and charactor development. Reacher had the intelligence, confidence, humility, and sense of justice which keep Lee Child's fans coming back for more. This is Must Go

Tom Cruise in no Jack Reacher.

The title says it all. Tom Cruise is in no way, shape, or from, Jack Reacher. The only thing they have in common is that they are both male.
Cruise is a wimp and in no way personifies the Largeness of Jack Reacher. What a HORRIBLE miscast.
Just because you buy the rights to a movie should not mean you should play the main character. What a narcissist he is.
This movie is CRAP.

A Good Surprise

The movie turned out to be better than I thought it would be. It was a good mix of action, thriller and mystery with a bits of comedy thrown in. But there was a lot more violence than I would expect from a PG-13 movie. (I don't mind it, but I had my mother and nephew with me and it was a little much for them.)

Excellent film. Non-stop action!!

My friends and I chose to see this movie in spite of the critics poor reviews, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The acting was well done, and even though I hear that he doesn't resemble the character in the book, Tom Cruise was extremely convincing in this film and his acting was supurb. Admittedly, the plot was thin, but then what do you really expect from a shoot 'em up action thriller? Robert Duval's appearance was also a pleasant surprise and who would dare argue his screen presence? To no one's surprise, he proved excellent in this supporting role!

With an intense car chase scene and a truly nail-biting conclusion, this film is probably one of the better edge-of your seat action thrillers that I've seen in a very long time. Apologies to those who've read the books, but I very much enjoyed the introduction of the very wise, cocky and confident Jack Reacher character. I'm now looking forward to seeing more of Jack's exploits make their way to the silver screen!

Very close to the book

I've read all the books and found the movie to match the excitement of the books. It's just too bad Tom Cruise is so short. The Jack reacher I know is 6 foot five 225+. Now I have to wait for the next movie. To the producers, let's move the movie out of the big city and into the small towns of the country where the real Jack Reacher moves and acts. Go see the movie, become a fan of Lee Child And become a fan of Jack Reacher.
