I really liked Jack Reacher and so did my wife who usually doesn't like these types of movies and who isn't a Tom Cruise fan. We see many movies and recommend this one.

Holiday Surprise

At times this movie reminds me of sitting at home watching a crime process show but you're hooked in by the great writing, interesting story and Jack Reacher's character. There were some classically written scenes (in the bar) that stood out and made you laugh while keeping you on the edge of your seat with compelling action and fight scenes. The criminals are menacing and you are seriously rooting for Jack Reacher just 30 minutes in so some clear lines between good and evil are placed. A great ending with a good standoff capped off the holiday weekend surprise movie. Not a movie for idiots and muscle heads there is an actual plot to follow and details you need to absorb or you may get lost in the story. AN indicator to how good this movie was that anyone who had to use the bathroom made it very quick and ran back to their seats. If you don't want to see a comedy in "This is 40" go see some action and check this one out.

WE SAW IT LAST NIGHT! IT WAS A VERY GOOD MOVIE . TOM CRUISE DIDN'T DISAPPOINT AND THE STORYLINE WAS VERY GOOD TOO. ITS A MUST SEE FROM US!

A really good one

I've read all of the Reacher series and I think that this movie caught the essence of Lee Child's character and certainly ran fairly true to the original novel's story line.. Action scenes incredible - too bad they had to trash that beautiful chevy! Bad guys really bad, good guys really good as Reacher metes out his particular but believable form of justice. Glad to see Child's Reacher series hitting the big screen. Cruise did an excellent job and the other actors supported him very well. Hope they can do more of the series just as well.

Good Movie. I figured it out early, but all in all a good Cruise film. Loved Duvall's line though...If I had a dollar for every time the Army called the Corps for help... Devil Dogs will appreciate it. And they'd understand some of the stuff that was going on more than most

Jack Reacher - the shorter version

I start off by saying I enjoyed the movie as did the audience. There were laughs, several good fights and a terrific car chase. BUT - having read all of the Jack Reacher books, "I know Jack Reacher and Tom is not Jack Reacher." Reacher is an immutable force and as everyone knows who has read the books, he is 6'5'' 230 - 250 lbs. Ok, Tom pulls it off well when he fights 4 guys but he is the shortest one there. I may agree with Lee Childs that Tom acts better than any 6'5" actor, but is he Reacher? I will see the next movie too, but this Reacher - the shorter version.

So-so

Entertaining and shallow

I saw Lincoln last week and so the comparison is not a good one. Lincoln was thought provoking and JR was thoughtless. That being said, it was action packed and fast paced so there is no possibility of falling asleep. I am not sorry I saw it but would not go out of my way to see it in the theatre. In terms of fun flicks to see that are out now, I liked "Silver Lining" better.

JR might be a good flick to catch at home.

So much fun, you will be on the edge of your seat. Good thriller, the car chase is so good it is in the "Bullitt" car chase category. Get your popcorn before you sit down you don't want to miss anything in this movie.

Pleasantly Surprised and Very Entertained by this Film

Let's be honest....I like Tom Cruise for nostalgic reasons. I thought there was something magnetic about him playing Steve in "The Outsiders," enjoyed his next few films and was ahead of my peers who gave him full heart-throb status by the time "Top Gun" came out in 1986. I enjoyed every film he was in for the next 15 years, but the 10 years since then have done nothing for me. Some films were entertaining, but most were just seen because friends or family wanted to see them and he's still great eye candy. I did really like "Knight and Day" but I think that is the only one I enjoyed. I went to see "Jack Reacher" last night because a girl friend picked it from several I said I hadn't seen and would be interested in. I had no expectations of greatness and was surprised. I loved Tom's character and found the film extremely entertaining and enjoyable. I am not sure about everyone, but for me, it was the best film he's done in the last 10 years and I would love to see this character again.

My Sis and i went and saw this movie. She read the book its based on and i had not read it and we both really liked it. Just by the name i wasnt planning to see it at all my sis talked me into seeing it and boy im glad she did was a good action movie enjoyed it go see it :)

Suspense, Action, Intrigue, Romance, Good Story, Well Done!

I like trying to figure out who the mole is, and this was a fun movie to do it with. There were several twists and the 'who-done-it' shifted a number of times, along with the added 'who are these guys, and what do they want'. The chase scenes were well done and believable and the SS 396 not coming out of the last one in such good condition was a little heart-breaking, but understandable. This movie was a reliably "Cruisin" movie that was plenty of fun. If you like Tom, it's a good bet you'll like this. If you don't, why would you go? I do, and I say, GO!!

ps - the "Critics" are a bunch of bums that stopped having fun about 20 years ago.

Very engaging and entertaining

Our family saw Jack Reacher Christmas to extend the already wonderful day. We all became lost in the story line. The movie made you think, it kept you engaged and was filled with twists and turn that included some great action scenes. It was also nice to see Tom Cruise and Robert Duval back together again. They have a great chemistry and gave this heavy film some levity. We enjoyed it...

One of the better Tom Cruise movies

This one hits the nail on the head! With an investigative mind that I have, even I was wondering which way this movie was going to go but if you put the pieces to the puzzle together as you go along it will come together with exception of who the usual suspects are.

Great movie, great action and great plot! A must see and I plan to see it again before it goes to DVD release which I will have in my collection.

Okay action flick

Tom Cruise does a good job at playing an over-the-top action hero. But, the movie is okay. Some of the premises are hooky - for example, the conversation with Cruise as "a witness" and the lawyer saying the conversation is priviledged, another would be a parking garage with meters. I did not leave the theater thinking I had to go see it again. Just your typical action-flick to waste two hours of your day in fantasy-land.

I don't listen to reviews much because we all have different tastes in movies. I thought the movie was very good. Full of action and adventure with a little humor added in. It was nice see a movie without nudity and sex. Great date night movie!
