not quite the action and suspense of mission impossible movies, but still good. you can't beat tom cruise for acting abilities and the story was different, so it keeps you engaged.

Terrific film all around. If you read Lee Child's books, you have to forget about Reacher's intimidating physical characteristics, but Tom Cruse became Reacher in the flesh very believably. Film, like Child's books, never dragged- was spot on with how Reacher lives, acts, reacts, fights, etc. My ex-Marine husband gave it a Perfect10 on the scale of good movies and I concur. Hope to see Cruise do more Reacher films!

Another Cruise Action Flick

I enjoyed this movie, even though there were your typical action parts that are hard to believe. I enjoyed the "who done it' part of the movie. Just wish there was more of that and not the action parts. Not a big fan of the action parts which are so hard to believe they could happen in the real world. But I do recommend going to see this movie.

Fell asleep

OMG this movie has some really bad acting... and really poor plot line... i fell asleep threw part of it...don't see it. At best it was good for a few good laughs(but not at parts that were intended for laughs lol)

Enjoyed the movie very much. I am a big Jack Reacher fan - have read almost all of the series. Since I knew the character, it was hard to watch Tom Cruise. However, my son and husband thought he did a great job!

Not Jack Reacher, but good action movie. Pretty faithful representation of book plot but car chase scenes are not in keeping with the basic character of Reacher.

Unexpected hit

We went to Reacher less because we wanted to go and more because we wanted to see a movie. Had no idea what it was about and we were extremely happy we'd gone afterward. Tom Cruise played a very likable Jack Reacher.

I realize that this is a pretty lackluster review, but my point in all this is that I think Reacher was under marketed or I somehow missed all the hype about it. I'm glad I did because my wife and I were both blown away by this great movie. Definitely see it.

Wow...I actually liked it.

I'm a female who usually isn't a fan of these types of movies. That and not the biggest Tom Cruise fan. But I immediately was drawn into the plot and loved every minute of it.

Good movie...tom always delivers!

I had no idea what the movie was about just knew tom was in it and it was some sort of an action thriller. Minus an eerie opening scene that made the whole theater cringe and whisper, I thought the story was good and action scenes were great. Of course there are those scenes that leave you scratching your head like 'Really?' BUT it's a movie so you just roll with it I guess. If you like tom cruise (as an actor, lol), I think you will enjoy this movie!

Lots of violence, but Tom Cruise did an excellent job and although I am a chick-flick kind of old lady, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It reminded me of the part he played in Knight by Day. That, too, was an excellent movie.

Jack Reacher not a stretch

Tom Cruise is back in excellent form as Jack Reacher. The movie was fun and only slightly unbelievable. Great cameos as well. Definitely worth the cost and time spent.

Great Screen Adaption

I've been reading Lee Child's books for some time and always thought they would make great movies. Wasn't sure about Cruise as Reacher but after seeing it last night, I must say he handled the role wonderfully. This is a great action film with an equally great story. Go see it. You won't be disappointed!

Ok Tom Cruise is not 6' 5" tall

I have read each of the Reacher books, and while T.C. does not look like the character, he certainly acts like him and the physical differences did not make a hoot.

I love when a movie is true to the story line in the book, and this one is.

Reacher is not James Bond, or any of the other acton thriller book/characters but is totally engrossing.

The movie is wonderfully scripted, acted and filmed. It is well worth seeing although Werenberg Theaters and the Fandango ticket charge are rip-offs.

Tom Cruise is the best

I had a great time when I watched Jack Reacher since I'm a devoted fan of Tom Cruise who did an incredible job playing former military police officer Jack Reacher in this action filled crime drama. Tom was the perfect choice in this film, his acting was convincing and flawless as usual, and it doesn't matter that he's not as tall as the original character as long as he can capture his essence and deliver a great performance. I haven't read Lee Child's books but because of this movie I'm going to read them. By the way, the fans who weren't pleased to see Tom portraying Jack Reacher are wrong and they shouldn't judge the movie befor seeing it, they won't be disappointed. Well done Tom!

Worth the time

Even though Jack Reacher is supposed to be 6' 4" I thought Cruise did a good job. Hope to see more Lee Child books make the big screen.
