    Really good movie

I'm not big into cop dramas... a little too real for me. I went because of Jake. What I ended up getting was a compelling cop drama with a little too realistic view of south central LA. Wow, makes a girl really glad to be up in Idaho.
-- drawback... it was dizzying... if you've seen Blair Witch Project, or Cloverfield - it's filmed like a handheld camera, which gets disorienting very quickly.

Beyond that great movie. the cast is incredible and it was a great movie to watch. GO see it if you are looking for something that makes real men among us the superheros of the world.

    Great Movie

The live, HD cameras give the story a more realistic feel to it. Two partners that are best friends and gives people an idea of how it really is in the streets of central LA

    by kprice

did not like the ongoing video taping in the movie with all of the narration going on was a distraction. the basic movie was ok but lacked a lot of information.

    So real...

At first I didnt think I would like the movie but I was proven wrong, it was crazy real how cops live their life in danger everyday.

    Funny but Foul

    by

The movie was funny but definitely too full of foul language for my taste! At least every 10th line and in most places every other word, was "F" this and "F" that! The violence I expected given the trailer, but I did not have the expectation to hear as much foul language as I did. To me it took away from the impact of the movie.

    Must see cop film

    by

Great performance by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena. These guys are cops out to make a difference and aren't afraid to get their hands a bit dirty. HIGHLY recommend going to see this film.

    End of Watch

I thought the acting was great, the story line very strong but the movie looked like it had been filmed off a cell phone camera. I know this is a new technique but there are times where all the film is hard to watch and very jumpy.

I would also like to say parents should not take their small children to a movie of this type, I saw at least 8 children ages 4 to 12 in the theater, with their parents. This movie is not for kids!

    end of watch

    by

This movie was out of control good. As a prior service marine it was not only moving but perfectly displayed the brother hood that service members have. This movie is a must see for everyone and i would as soon say that all who watch this will have a new found respect for those who protect our streets.

    END of WATCH

Please stay with me on this review. I almost walked out after thirty minutes of this film. The reason being that the F word is used about a hundred times and the style of filming is what I call virtual reality. I don't like that approach to a full length film. Both of these issues continue throughout the film; but the acting is so good that you stay around and hope the movie gets better. It does get better and better, however the F word and Virtual filming continue to no end. The story is rivating and you are totally drawn up in the suspence. I wanted to give this film an OH/NO; but I just couldn't in all honesty. It has some graphic violence and killings in it, but not over the top for the stoeyline. The writing is well done and the direction is as well. The screenplay writer did a fine job bringing the intensity of the script to the big screen. Bottom line, If you don't mind the F word consently and the virtual reality style of filming, then go enjoy a well acted and written movie.

    Not Sure

    by NICU RN

I did like this movie. As the mother of a Caucasian police patrol officer it terrified me. I'm not sure I "get it" - it seemed to be a series of "a day in the life" and the ending left some unanswered questions for me. But I think it's worth seeing.

Kept my interest - I really enjoyed watching both Jake & Michael great team!

A medium paced beginning then building up to a fast momentum then slow - with an adrenaline rush with OMG!!!! To revenge then mourning and tears of laughter with a heavy heart, the end.

Great Movie with lots of insight!

Even the big tough guy sitting behind me was choking back tears.

Michael Pena was great in this film. The main characters were very believable. Could of done without the actress playing a ******* chola's exaggerated accent at times, but overall, this film is very original, will make you chuckle a lot, keeps you engaged the whole way through, and definitely pulls at your heartstrings. I let myself cry at practically every movie, but during this one, I did the ugly cry. And my boyfriend was crying, and that's not a common occurence. You won't want your money back after seeing this film.
