    End of Watch

    by Raycing

I really enjoyed the movie and loved the gun fights, especially the gold AK. But not for the faint heart! had comedy but lots of violence! Not reccommended for kids.

    You won't be disppointed!!

This movie is very compelling and will keep you involved in the action from the moment the movie starts. The actors really make you feel that they are 100% cops working in South Central and real life depiction of what these officers have to deal with at any time and how they risk their lives to protect our neighborhoods is the theme of this movie. Like I said, you will not be disappointed from start to finish and you will walk out of the theater with a sense of gratefulness and respect for these men in uniform.

Buy the ticket and watch the movie!!!!

I LOVED THE MOVIE IT WAS AMAZING!
The acting made it so real. It was like watching a documentary, about how police officers take that role into not just catching the bad guys but willing to save other peoples lives. I love Jake Gyllenhall and Michael Pena. Just today actually,I might as well bring it up. I was driving on florin road in Sacramento, and I got pulled over by the police officer, he came up to the window and did his normal routine like every other cop is: License and registration? then he asked do you know why I pulled you over? I said yes, because my right brake light dose not work. he says yes as he was starting to write up the ticket. End of watch gave me the courage to say That he was doing a good job and that i was proud that we have police officers here and soldiers out there in a different world serving our country. He looked at me, smiled, and said thank you mam. he ripped up the ticket and gave me a warning to fix it. I smiled, said your welcome, and drove away.

    EXCELLENT

Great movie. Pulls you in to the lives of two officers as they perform their duties. Great actors in all the movie. Take plenty of tissues you're gonna need them!! This is not a film for the kids, a lot of hard action.

    Invested

The great part of this movie comes down to unforgettable moments with great acting. The action rises and falls at a roller coaster pace. The best portions of the movie are those in the actual trailer, but the moments that catch you off guard are the ones that stick with you throughout. Watching the two leads act like genuine brothers made the movie emotionally investing. Check this movie out!

WILL SATISFY AND ENTERTAIN THE LOVERS OF "COP" FLICKS, ACTION-PACKED, BLOOD-FILLED TWO HOURS!

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena are partners, patrolling the crime-infested neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Terrific acting combined with the intimacy of the hand-held camera lends pivotal and realistic credence to a world that exists, but one we shun and pray never graces our doorstep. For those with sensitivities the "F" word replaces "Like" as part of the vernacular.

    THREE STARS!!!

    Not your average cop/buddy flick.

    I'll keep this rather quick...

    Cons
    - the moving camera is by far the worst thing going for this movie. I get it's supposed to be a sign of the times we live in but it was outright annoying.
    - Jake Gyllenhaal's character seemed too bright to be an LA beat cop. Not that cops can't be bright but I needed a little insight as to how he ended up there.
    - The end. I still don't know why the last scene is the last scene

    Pros
    - A very accurate portrait of police life. (i don't know if LA gang violence is still at the pitch the movie gives it, but it makes for a good nemesis.)
    - The writer goes a long long way to get you to like these guys so the end is worth the trip.
    - This is the type of cop movie Hollywood has been trying and failing to make since Colors. It's a full on sensory experience. A Sweet, funny, gross, tense, hardcore, sad, action packed, angry, adrenalin shot of a movie....and it's almost perfect.

    Late review but worth knowing

End Of Watch was by far one of my favorite if not one of the greatest movies of 2012. This movie has greatness from the acting to humor to intensity etc. Everything about this movie was spot on and fit so well. I have to say i did not expect such a great role from Michael Pena while i see him much more as a comedian since i saw 30 minutes or less. MIchael did a amazing job in this movie as well as Jake Gyllenhaal. And while the action and jokes were great i found that the most suprising and amazing part of this movie that really took me by suprise was the emotional feel given when something sad happens. I would absolutely recommend getting this movie cause you can watch it over and over again. like the title says this is a very late review for multiple reasons but tis movie was amazing.

    End of Watch?Great movie!

    by nwwoman

I put it at an A- to B+. My male movie mate gave it a B- to C+. I thought it could probably be a pretty accurate depiction of the days in the life of two street cops. I was moved by the emotions of the characters and enjoyed the action. The last couple years have left me wondering if there really are great cops out there. I hope there's a few of these guys roaming our streets. The movie is a go see, thumbs up!

    THE Cop Film of 2012

    by

Every year needs its cop film of the year, and 2012 has "End of Watch." It isn't necessarily an action movie as it does a really great job of letting you get to know the partners played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña. When the credits roll you almost feel as if you should know their birthdays and what to get them for Christmas. As you would expect with these two accomplished actors, their performances were superb and you truly feel as if this is a tandem that could be out on the streets of L.A.'s South Central. The Curbside Gang quartet also did an incredible job as gangsters. Shot as a hybrid of traditional filmmaking and documentary style, David Ayer did a wonderful job of bringing it all together. The story was tight and without any glaring holes with an ending that will have you choked up. A very solid film that will stand the test of time. See it in the theaters.

Could be the Greatest Police Drama Ever Made!

There have been some great police movies, but never one that was as realistic, personalized, and encompassing as End of Watch. Having worked around LAPD officers, this movie is very reflective of the internal, personal, and public problems these public servants face. It might allow viewers to finally understand why police officers have to be domineering and in control of public encounters. It also reminds us, that regardless of their apparent callousness, the majority of law enforcement officers are caring people caught in between two worlds. Best Movie so far this year!

    stunning reality

This movie ROCKS! The graphic language and imagery bring to view every aspect of a cop's life whether in L.A. or any other large metroplex. There is no pretense in the dialogue and all the actors deliver first-rate performances. The viewer can truly appreciate the problems faced by the police in the area of race relations and the ravages of the drug culture.
Natalie Martinez and Anna Kendrick are especially effective in their portrayal of the women who love and remain loyal to their husbands in the face of overwhelming odds of violence and daily tensions on-the-job.Not for the squeamish, but definitely for anyone who is looking for outstanding entertainment and graphic realism professionally done.

    A Good Cop Movie!

    by

Seriously one of the best cop movies made. The two main characters have great chemistry and the action was intense. The dialogue was good, the supporting cast was good, their was really not much I didn't like about the film. As a man who once worked with cops I have to say that this is probably one of the closest to the real thing, where normal civilians get a small taste of what cops and their families go through in the world of law enforcement.
