    Wow.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Broke your heart, made you laugh, got you thinking. Amazing movie, but not for the light-hearted. Very real, very in your face. No boundaries. Amazing plot and even better casting. All around awesome movie.

    Good Movie - Bad Ending

    by nlappe

My wife and I enjoyed the movie. Good story line, good acting and a good amount of action. However, the ending left a lot to be desired. It was almost like the producers didn't quite know how to end the movie, so they made something up that just didn't seem to fit. Still worth seeing.

    Do miss this one...

There's been much noise out there about this piece of filmmaking cinematic history. I actually read somewhere a mention of "Training Day" in the same sentence as "End of Watch." Well, let's put our two cents out there... Even, both films share the same scribe, This is not, in any way shape or form, remotely in the category of "Training Day", and all that noise about this film, well, let's save it for something else worth barking about.
I was actually baffled to find myself reacting this way to this movie, since David Ayer has a long list of cool movies to his credit. I guess everyone missed a home run here and there. And, then again, this is just my two cents...
Swimming somewhere deep in the current idiotic trend to shoot movies with video cameras the filmmakers found what barely passes for inspiration as a visual theme. Bring a bottle of Advil with you. The camera work is in deed that bad.

Terrific movie. I loved how you could see that cops are everyday people with normal lives and then are faced with life threatening challenges during thier duty hours.

Makes Training Day look like Mr Rogers Neighborhood

    by joehogg

Great, edge-of-your-seat thriller. Not for the faint of heart or those who like to sugar coat real world problems. The acting was phenomenal and the directing on spot. Would recommend to anybody that loves to be entertained. Great way to spend 2 hours of your time and would do so again. 4 stars out of 4.

    End of Watch

This was undoubtly the worst movie I have seen this year. I never thought the fk word would be used so much in a movie as it was this one. In my opinion the language used in this move is a disgrace to the police force. With all the words in the dictionary, why do these writers have to use such foul language? What was the camera man doing, this movie was jumping around so much it made me dizzy. I will not recommend this movie to anyone....

    Funny, suspense filled...an emotional rollercoaster

    by

Very good movie. Superb.acting... The story is full of suspense, humor, and emotion from beginning to end. It tells a story about the friendship and the everyday work of two police officers. It is not for children as it has nudity, violence, and bad language.

WILL SATISFY AND ENTERTAIN THE LOVERS OF "COP" FLICKS, ACTION-PACKED, BLOOD-FILLED TWO HOURS!

Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena are partners, patrolling the crime-infested neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Terrific acting combined with the intimacy of the hand-held camera lends pivotal and realistic credence to a world that exists, but one we shun and pray never graces our doorstep. For those with sensitivities the "F" word replaces "Like" as part of the vernacular.

    THREE STARS!!!

Could be the Greatest Police Drama Ever Made!

There have been some great police movies, but never one that was as realistic, personalized, and encompassing as End of Watch. Having worked around LAPD officers, this movie is very reflective of the internal, personal, and public problems these public servants face. It might allow viewers to finally understand why police officers have to be domineering and in control of public encounters. It also reminds us, that regardless of their apparent callousness, the majority of law enforcement officers are caring people caught in between two worlds. Best Movie so far this year!

    END of WATCH

Please stay with me on this review. I almost walked out after thirty minutes of this film. The reason being that the F word is used about a hundred times and the style of filming is what I call virtual reality. I don't like that approach to a full length film. Both of these issues continue throughout the film; but the acting is so good that you stay around and hope the movie gets better. It does get better and better, however the F word and Virtual filming continue to no end. The story is rivating and you are totally drawn up in the suspence. I wanted to give this film an OH/NO; but I just couldn't in all honesty. It has some graphic violence and killings in it, but not over the top for the stoeyline. The writing is well done and the direction is as well. The screenplay writer did a fine job bringing the intensity of the script to the big screen. Bottom line, If you don't mind the F word consently and the virtual reality style of filming, then go enjoy a well acted and written movie.

    A solid cop movie

    by JDLPRO

I wasn't completely enthralled by the movie, but it was entertaining.
Theres alot of profanity in this movie, but its a cop movie set in LA. Do you expect the gangbangers to have a highly refined vocabulary & speak in professional jargon?
The plot & even the tricky little ending was predictible, but there was some solid action, intense moments & even humor in this flick.
Overall a solid movie. Just know that you'll have to get used to the mobile camera work. It can be annoying at times.

    Invested

The great part of this movie comes down to unforgettable moments with great acting. The action rises and falls at a roller coaster pace. The best portions of the movie are those in the actual trailer, but the moments that catch you off guard are the ones that stick with you throughout. Watching the two leads act like genuine brothers made the movie emotionally investing. Check this movie out!
