    End of Watch

This is the most realistic police movie that I have seen. The main characters did an awesome job. The producer did a great job of depicting life everyday in the police world.

    Amazing

    by

I can't say enough about this movie, it was amazing. So many parts were just dead on, it was really uncanny. Don't miss out on this one.

    What everyone else sez

    by fm10012

I love cop movies. There has been some great ones too. This one was in the spirit of Joseph Wambaugh - gritty, realistic, and ugly in places. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena were amazing together. Great comedic moments and brief moments of deep intimacy. I did not like the home video premise that pervaded the movie. That element did not work for me and it was a poor way to cover up the choice of so much hand held camera action. Those long hand held sequences always make me dizzy but the movie was good enough to overcome it. Best dialogue was the "...do you feel like a hero..?" sequence in the convenience store. I will def see it again.

    Profanity to a ridiculous level.

I'm not a prude, have been known to use the F-bomb on occassion, but this movie took cursing to a level that was absurd. The story and acting were obscured due to the profanity.
It was a good story, acting excellent, but I remember most the swearing. I remember that this one of the only movies that I have seen people get up and walk out, never to return. As good as the story was, with all the action, the theatre should have been busier, instead it was near empty, and 10% of those there left less than midway. My friend and I were using a Fandango BOGO deal we had gotten, and she remarked that she was glad we hadn't paid full price.

Such a waste of a good story and acting. Well at least they didn't have to pay much for the writing!

    End Of Watch

I was never a big fan of cops and really never looked deeper into their job.
But after having seen this great movie, I look at it from a different angle.
The movie has it all, from really funny dialogues to heavy metal action.
Great acting job - Bravo!! - I will see it again.

Excellent movie. If you like action movies with lots of dramatic moments, this is a good one to see. This movie is a lot like Training Day. This movie was excellent, the cast give great performances, and is one of the best films I have seen this year. Go see it soon, you will have a good time.

    wow

Very intense and hope people realize what cops go through on a day to day basis. My dad was a CHiP and he loved his job. I think God makes policemen and women. You just have to have it in you like firemen and other such jobs of the like. Next time you are pulled over, just remember that the police never know who they are dealing with. Give 'em respect :)

    End of Watch

This movie really brought me into the world of law enforcement especially police officers. The characters were so real and I feel, true to life. The bond between Taylor and Zavala is a touching bromance that I think any persons in law enforcement can appreciate. I laughed and cried during this movie it deffinately is a A Must See!!

    End of Watch

After Training Day I had big expectations. The movie was good and I had a good time. It was a little Hollywood about the police force and some scenes seemed kind of cheesy. It is good at the movies would be GREAT on video

    Really good movie

I'm not big into cop dramas... a little too real for me. I went because of Jake. What I ended up getting was a compelling cop drama with a little too realistic view of south central LA. Wow, makes a girl really glad to be up in Idaho.
-- drawback... it was dizzying... if you've seen Blair Witch Project, or Cloverfield - it's filmed like a handheld camera, which gets disorienting very quickly.

Beyond that great movie. the cast is incredible and it was a great movie to watch. GO see it if you are looking for something that makes real men among us the superheros of the world.

Would cops realy do that? Reality TV filming is getting old.

Its obvious this is not reality TV, why not just film this as a movie instead of fake personal cams. Its getting realy old, but since when is Hollywood or millions of dollars ever up on par. If you have to make the actors not use common sense, then you need to rewrite the movie. Would cops realy not take extra weapons from shot perps when they are outgunned. Would they not protect their position when one officer is down? Cmon Hollywood, make the characters competant and still make a good flick. Look at Taken. Rest of it is realy good, the actors pull it off real enough as street cops. Poor writing. Poor jumpy camera work.

If you love to watch movies for entertainment this is a must go. If you're a movie critic that hates all movies...don't go. End of Watch...it is what it is...a violent, funny, sarcastic man movie. Have a good time.
