    Non-Stop Excitement

Pretty damn good movie after waiting months preview after preview and finally having some time to check it out I found myself very satisfied and would consider seeing it again; However, it was really a low budget film with good dialogue such as the jokes and the two cops talking about their wife/girlfriends "love" between partners and Kicking Ass. Furthermore, End Of Watch is like the movie Colors that came out in the 80's but more focused on hispanic than black, both films are shot in South Central Los Angeles. Go See It

    Funny, suspense filled...an emotional rollercoaster

    by

Very good movie. Superb.acting... The story is full of suspense, humor, and emotion from beginning to end. It tells a story about the friendship and the everyday work of two police officers. It is not for children as it has nudity, violence, and bad language.

    Thug Movie

A LOT of F-bombs. The movie is about Jake (Taylor) filming his "life and times of an LA cop". It looks into the minds of the cops and how they approach the situations they encounter and how they cope with their job. There is a lot of violence and some gore which revolves around drugs and guns. The story line is probably pretty accurate as to what LAPD is up against on a daily basis in the South Central Los Angeles area.

I liked watching the interaction between Jake and Pena. At some points of the movie, there was humor. I didn't like the way the movie was being filmed by Jake as we were watching. Definitely not for kids or teenagers nor for someone on a date night. A lot of action.

    THE Cop Film of 2012

    by

Every year needs its cop film of the year, and 2012 has "End of Watch." It isn't necessarily an action movie as it does a really great job of letting you get to know the partners played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña. When the credits roll you almost feel as if you should know their birthdays and what to get them for Christmas. As you would expect with these two accomplished actors, their performances were superb and you truly feel as if this is a tandem that could be out on the streets of L.A.'s South Central. The Curbside Gang quartet also did an incredible job as gangsters. Shot as a hybrid of traditional filmmaking and documentary style, David Ayer did a wonderful job of bringing it all together. The story was tight and without any glaring holes with an ending that will have you choked up. A very solid film that will stand the test of time. See it in the theaters.

    Army guys review

    by

Great flick, but prepare for an emotional investment. Though the action is pretty raw and intense, they are mostly on the short side, with more down time in-between.

However, these non-actiony parts struck something particular with me (in a good way), especially the simple interactions between the main characters while on patrol. It reminded me of the times I had in a Humvee with my team. The transition from these quieter scenes to the more intense, action scenes is sometimes jarring; but still adds to quality of this movie. I can only wonder what real police officers with these experiences would think of this movie.

By civilians standards, the shock factor of some scenes might be too much. To those with some professional 2-way firing range experience, you might be able to nit-pick some at things, but it's still a great story see at least once

And my hats off to the righteous Police officers (opposed to the corrupt) who sacrifice so much, but receive less to nothing in return.

    BoLdly Good

This movie is not for the mainstream channel hoppers. What i like about this movie is that it unexpectedly envelops the audience in the family like structure of the characters. I became empathetic to the main characters to the point where i came to tears.

Best Cop/Buddy Movie I've Ever Seen

    by

The brotherhood, companionship, and love in this movie is strong. It's witty, emotional, and full of action. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you laughing and then crying before you realize you've swapped. This is just a good movie, and it's something different.

    Intense and poweful

I enjoyed End of Watch, interesting perspective on the lives of two cops working in South Central LA. Lots of 4 letter language but understandable for this film. Definitively adult themed film but well done and overall good acting.

End of Watch for-Get a look into what is happening in the sea of millions of people.

This is a must see movie if you like cop movies or shows. You really felt like you were riding along with them. The hand held cameras were a little hard to handle sometimes but the story line and the wonderful partnership and friendship between the two police officers make you forget the camera. If you are a fan of Southland, you will definintely love this movie. Wonderful actors and very entertaining, Not for younger viewers, very graphic and lots and lots of the F word, almost too much I thought until the next day I listened to an actual recording of city police in a shoot out with cartel (in another state) and realized it did sound the same and the vocabulary was the same. Made me thankful I live 41 miles east of L.A.

    End of Watch

I loved this film!!! The cinematograpy was a little different having them film themselves but it gave it a nice touch. It is a must see for adults. Some of the scenes were very graffic and distrubing. But....it was amazing to have an inside look at what our police go through every day. The humor was appropriately placed and I would love to see it again. I have a new appreciation of our law enforcement. I'm trying not to give anyting away, but I could not understand why the reinforements took so long to repond Can some explan this without giving anything away?

    A solid cop movie

    by JDLPRO

I wasn't completely enthralled by the movie, but it was entertaining.
Theres alot of profanity in this movie, but its a cop movie set in LA. Do you expect the gangbangers to have a highly refined vocabulary & speak in professional jargon?
The plot & even the tricky little ending was predictible, but there was some solid action, intense moments & even humor in this flick.
Overall a solid movie. Just know that you'll have to get used to the mobile camera work. It can be annoying at times.

    Lots of fun and action

Cool movie, camera work made it really interesting and acting was outstanding. Story became a bit predictable, but overall very well done. It was really funny too. Definitely worth seeing in the theater!

    Great movie. Horrible, but real...

    by

Language = awful. But I've heard people talk like that. Violence = over the top. But probably not unrealistic for the setting. Story about two officer partners = fantastic. Real. Honest. Very raw, and very moving. Don't bring your kids, but go see this. On the big screen, where you can really allow yourself to get absorbed in it. Excellent film.

    Same ol Same ol

    by

This is the worst movie Ive seen in years....The action is ok, but the script is horrible. The conversations between the two cops are unbalanced and just unatural. They just dont come accross how normal people talk. Ive never seen a plot so thin. Its literally spelled out for you. There is not one single surprise in this movie. we all know what happens to a married cops...........Its terrible and then to make matters worse its shot in cloverfield/blair witch style camera. i thought this style was reserved for movies with suspense, but considering this movie has none, it just seems stupid, and a gimmick at best. I guess this shows were the massed like their movies dumbed down and spelled out....Knowing everything thats going to happen in a movie IS NOT ENTERTAINMENT!!!!
