    Beautifully done

The animation and effects on this movie are gorgeous. The story itself isn't spectacular, but it's very entertaining. I think the biggest problem with the movie is the title... people seem to think it's that stupid owl movie.

    STRONGLY RECOMMEND

    by BCR123

WENT WITH MY WIFE AND TEN YEAR OLD. GREAT MOVIE. LOVED THE SPIN ON THE CHARACTERS AND HOW THEY WHERE PORTRAYED SO DIFFERENTLY FROM TRADIONAL HOLIDAY FILMS. VISUALLY SPECTACULAR AS WELL. PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IVE EVER SCENE FROM A VISUAL PERSPECTIVE. SAW IT IN 3D. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING IT THAT WAY. PLOT WAS BASIC BUT VERY GOOD AND AGAIN DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FILMS INVOLVING THESE SPECIFIC CHARACTERS. WILL GO SEE IT AGAIN.

    Better than I expected

I wasn't excited about seeing this movie, but it was a lot more fun than I expected and the kids loved it. it's well done in terms of the drawing and animation.

Strangest Christmas movie I have ever seen

    by bil45

This is not your classic Christmas tale and isn't recommended for children under 5 (due to the very good possibility of them being scared). The movie recreates Santa and the Easter Bunny as hardened, tough guy super heroes who don't hesitate to pull out swords or grenades when facing the enemy. Santa has tatoos all over his body and is threatening to anyone who dares disagree with him. With enemies like Pitch threatening the children of the world, it takes a group of tough guys keep him at bay. Turns out the tough guys are not enough - one more guardian is needed, and the Man in the Moon decides that it needs to be Jack Frost. Jack is a go-lucky sort with an impish side, but not as hardened or tough as Santa and the Easter bunny. Younger kids will leave remembering him as their favorite character (and possibly with negative feelings towards Santa and the Easter Bunny). The settings in this movie as as "grey" as the characters - the movie is mostly set in the grimy inner city.

    we loved it

For a group ages 7 - 50+ years old to be able to make reference to the jokes as well as special effects - the movie effectively creates a fairy tale with a nod to the real world. Put our group in the":holiday spirit" - lovely family film

Finally a kids movie with no sex or profanity

    by missmoy

Out of all the "kids" movies I've seen lately, this one was one of the best. You can laugh, cry, and feel excited throughout the movie without having to cringe. The innuendos in many movies often leaves me having to explain adult topics to my 10 year old. No worries about that in this movie and great life lessons to boot!

    Enjoyable

I know I'm older than the target demographic, but I enjoy lots of animated movies. This one was beautifully made, but dragged in lots of places. I would place this movie on a 'must rent' list when it comes out on DVD, but if you don't have kids you might want to skip this movie in the theatres.

    WAY fun!

The last couple of movies I've watched were all based on superheroes or video games, so I'd almost forgotten that some kids' movies actually have a soul. This was a charming and visually stunning take on the Velveteen Rabbit-style myth about the power of children's beliefs.

    Awesome Movie

I would say this is a Christmas movie but it takes place about two or three days before Easter. The movie is very well done and the kids loved it!

    An amazing experience

Went to see the movie with my family at Carmike. It was a late show and we had the theater almost to ourselves. However, the coziness and the fact that there was no crowd only enhanced our experience. The place is clean, the people friendly, the picture and sound excellent.
The movie is appealing to all generations. We loved it and will definitely make sure to see it again. Teaches some good points about life worth values!

    Cute Flick

Saw this with my teenagers, and we really enjoyed it. Good story, terrific animation, 3D was nice but not overwhelming. We payed full price, and it was worth it for the 3D effects.

    Better than the newspaper reviews

I went with my nine year old daughter. She liked it, and so did I.
It wasn't fantastic or a "must see" but I thought it was pretty good and not nearly as bad as some of the newspaper reviews I read.
