Awesome picturization.............!

First by the start of film I thought it waz just a narration of story and it will be something like a documentary, but the director made my day. It was such a good film and very realistic to the context.

Life of Pi

The movie was both visually stunning and had a fresh plot. I truly enjoyed this movie. I saw this in the RPX format, but had problems with the theater itself. The screen was very slightly out of focus and the "wonderful 7 million watt" sound system was silent on the left side of the theater.
But the movie itself is a must see.

Great cinematography

This movie was filmed very well. The scenes were spectacular. The acting was great. I had only two problems with this movie. 1. The religious message which was meant to carry the story failed to inspire me. 2. I felt that they spent more time focusing on filming the beautiful scenes then they did on creating a rich story. Overall it was entertaining, but I think it failed as a movie.

Took my kids to see this movie in 3D. Excellent storyline, great visual effects and captivating from start to finish. We all enjoyed. A must get on DVD for my collection of second-looks.

Visually stunning, well-acted, amazing special effects. The narration, however, distracted from the unfolding story, and did not measure up to the book. Recommendation: read the book!

Excellent Version of a Wonderful Book!

This movie was wonderful. The effects and photography were wonderful. The acting was terrific too - the story was very faithful to the book. Loved it! Must see!!

Beautifully Shot, Story.........

I enjoyed watching this movie. I mean "watching" as the story is mediocre. Completely predictable. Again, the visuals are so fantastic it is worth seeing in a movie theater.

I saw the 3D version and would rather have seen the 2D. Not many great 3D encounters to counter balance having to wear those dark glasses for two hours.

Overall, enjoy the visual feast but do not expect a solid story.

The Life of Pi

Wonderful, beautiful, sad, inspiring film!! Loved it. Loved the visuals, the music, the story, the whole idea. I loved the fact that there was no cynicism or irony but just a simple tale of belief, faith, and trust told in the most charming fashion. Very very refreshing indeed.

Life of Pi is Awesome

This was my first 3D movie experience and it was the perfect movie to experience it with. I read the book years ago and could not imagine how they could, accomplish making a movie about it. Well they sure did figure it out. It was amazing and stayed true to the book. I loved it!

My family loved this movie!

This movie wasn't quite what I expected. But overall it exceeded my expectations. It was a little slow at the start, but when it was over, you understood why it was important to take the time at the beginning to show the characters spiritual growth and his struggle to find god. The cinematography was so beautiful and almost every scene was breathtaking, Especially in 3D!!! The acting is superb. You fall in love with the characters and really feel a connection with them. At the end there is definitely a twist that leaves you thinking and reexamining the whole movie. Our whole discussion over dinner was about this movie and the different way certain things could be interpreted. Ang Lee did an amazing job. And I want to see this movie again, in theaters, The home viewing experience will be totally different.

great story, great cgi and great acting...

I really enjoyed this movie. was rumored to be the next Avatar but I do not think so. This movie stands on its own. I am a big Avatar fan but hios is not the next. It is a great movie again on its own... great story, great CGI and great acting..

This was a great movie - beautifully made - spiritual, awesome aerial visual shots - refreshing not to have the f bomb dropped every 5 min. The ending threw me and I am still not sure I know which story at the end was true.

A truly beautiful movie! The life's lessons taught in this movie are timeless. The acting, action, scenery were all outstanding. One of my top ten movies of the year.

Go for the Story

With such beautiful special effects I definitely had a hard time relating with Pi on his incredible adventure and empathizing with his agonizing journey of more than half a year adrift. However, the story was of the best I have ever been told. I felt like I was experiencing the story not as Pi, but as an intent listener. In this regard, the movie was a home run. Phenomenal 3D drew me in and the breathtaking aesthetics of the scenes envisioned by Ang were nothing short of miraculous.
