Wreck-It Ralph - two thumbs up

We really enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph in 3D!! My children and I did laugh I kinda had a little retro guy cry. It was like being at the arcades again. Those were the days.
The kids couldn't really relate but it was a really fun movie and outing and gave me much needed time to spend with my children.

I keep hearing the word awesome.

Took the kids to see this one, but I'll confess to being excited to see it from the first time I saw a preview for it. I've loved video games since I was very young and spent many a quarter at the arcade, so a movie that featured arcade game characters was always going to catch my eye, but it was Ralph's story line that really hooked me on it. My kids range in age from 13 to 5 and every single one of them loved it. My 13 year old said it was awesome, my 11 ear old wasn't interesting in watching it, but ended up enjoying it immensely, and my 5 year old held her arms out as far apart as she could and said she liked it that much "or maybe a little more than that." My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was enough depth in the plot and adult humor to keep us entrained. There was a moment between Penelope and Ralph that, frankly, had me in tears. Several people I know, who've seen it, just say "It's awesome."

    Back in the Day …

Gotta say how much I enjoyed this experience. My grandson wanted to see this "Wreck It, Ralph" movie so bad. So his Grandma and I took him to the 3-D showing. He was thrilled, but NOT as much as I did. I was one of those "kids" (adult) tossing quarters into games at arcades. It was delightful to see "old friends" like Pacman, Qbert, et al bought to life from nasty old pixels I would stare at for HOURS at a time. Sorry, but all the people sitting in that theatre had NO IDEA of the characters and games depicted. I was THRILLED (and the 3-D wasn't bad, either!!)!!!!

    Great for grown-ups and kids

I saw this movie with my husband (without the kids) and we both decided it is a great film based on the older video games and it brings in a great new twist. Wonderful in 3D! Great music track, too!

    Awesome, fun movie!

    by

This was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. It was fun and entertaining. It had great references to all kinds of video games as well as nostalgic candy. It had a really good story and the characters were great. It had lots of retro nods for us older ones but kids loved the story too. I highly recommed it.

    Fantastic

It's a truly awesome film. I wouldn't call it perfect (though I couldn't really find any faults with it), It had some really good twists, though you may or may not see them coming. It's for any age. Kinda wish they had expanded on the world, maybe shown some more video game worlds.

    It's for everybody!!

    by

This movie was wonderful. It's great for people like me who are into classic video games, but it also has references to newer games. It doesn't stop there on top of having references everywhere that keep looking around, you find that it's a fun movie in in and of itself. I loved it. My daughter loved it. I will be buying it as soon as its available to own.

If you haven't seen it. Go se it. If you've already seen it, go see it again and look for more of the hundreds of Easter eggs laid around the film.

    Great Father daughter movie

    I'm a geek

I grew up with a NES controller in my hand, and thought the Konami code was mind blowing.

My 10 yr old daughter was excited to see the movie since she knew the voice talent, and Owl City was in the soundtrack.

In the end, we both enjoyed the movie, and had a good conversation about the plot after the movie was over.

    great animation

sweet story line, although we all found the heroine more than annoying.
the video game graphics can be a little mind numbing after 90 minutes, esp in 3D.
and what's with the Disney short before, 'paperman' - snorefest, start the movie already!!

    FUN for all ages!

Wreck It Ralph was awesome!! My fiance & I watched it in 3D last night and didn't expect such an amazing concept! We're not video gamers, but it was funny, entertaining, heartfelt, and fun for even our age group! The movie was recommended to us by our friends & we had to THANK them for suggesting it! I would watch this again and own it on DVD!

Great story, but not as funny as we expected.

    by psostre

Not as funny as they made it look, but it had a really good story. It was a bit of a tear-jerker for the younger kids. Worth going to see.

Awesome story with plenty of Gamer Shout-outs

This is a great movie for anyone who's ever played video games. It's particularly good for those who've been playing arcade games for a while. A good story with an ending that deosn't really feel clique.

Must see for anyone who grew up with video games.

    by

This movie is a fantastic tribute to the genesis of video games: the arcade. The characters are memorable, the animation top notch, and with a healthy amount of cameos and references to both past and modern games, just about anyone who loves video games should love this movie. The 3D is good; not too subtle, but not in your face either, and some key scenes really showcase it in action. This is a movie aimed at the gaming audience, but the story and characters are portrayed well enough that it can be enjoyed even if gaming isn't your thing. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good family film, or even just a casual view.
