The best animated movie since the original Toy Story! Very good and very original!

Very entertaining for all ages. I absolutely love this film. It;s funny, smart, original, heartwarming, and a little bit of action in there. There was nothing that wasn't funny. It just made my sides hurt from all the jokes in this movie. Just amazing! If you haven't seen this movie yet, you have to watch it! I recommend it to all ages. It's just a great film overall!

    A Fun Family Movie

Wreck-It-Ralph was fun and exciting. There is tons of nostalgia for those of us who grew up with the classic arcade video games. The story is good - and the music keeps the pace of the movie fast (I particularly liked "Shut Up and Drive" as Vanelope learned to dive her race car.) There is a bit too much of the "Sugar Rush" game - which makes the experience a bit like entering a 3D game of Candyland ... but this is fun and worth seeing in the theater in 3 D. Best credits ever - so be sure to stay until the credits are done - there's a surprise at the end.

    Hints of 80s nostalgia

Great movie for both young and gen-xers. A lot of 80s arcade visuals in the movie along with many references to nostalgic video gaming. Plus, if you ever saw the documentary 'King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters" you will swear Pixar snuck Billy Mitchell and Walter Day in the film. The only scene that may be scary for little ones is the end when the main character turns into a big bug. Despite that, go see it.

    Great show!

I took 21 kids plus two adults to see this yesterday and the kids were mesmerized. Everyone stayed seated through the whole flick. Very entertaining. Even fun for the grown ups.

    Great Movie!

I brought my 8 yr old son and 7 year old girls and all three of them loved it! I thought it would be boyish for my girls but turns out it was very appealing to both my son and daughters! They did a great job engaging both and the adults! Great movie!

    Awesome, fun movie!

    by

This was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. It was fun and entertaining. It had great references to all kinds of video games as well as nostalgic candy. It had a really good story and the characters were great. It had lots of retro nods for us older ones but kids loved the story too. I highly recommed it.

    Nice afternoon

    by

I went to see this with my 8 year old. I laughed quite a bit. It got a little slow in on part but then picked up again. I and my 8 year old enjoyed it.

    Fun

Unique twist on video games. Amazingly, managed to get me liking the characters. Interesting plot turns. Who would think you could say such a thing about an animation like this. Yes, a bit sappy, but simple, fun, escapist entertainment that will make you smile and may even wet an eye momentarily.

Amazing! Toy Story meets video games

This movie was awesome! It's what you would get if you took Pixar's Toy Story concept and applied it to video games instead of toys. It's a glimpse of what video game characters do when we're not playing them, along with several other themes that make for a great story and lovable characters.

Any gamer who grew up in the Nintendo era is probably going to love this movie. There are lots of cameo appearances from other games, though that's just a part of what made this movie so great. Lots of laughs, action, and a bit of drama make this great for gamers of all ages!

Wreck-It Ralph is a clever and nostalgic visual delight

    by kcu3986

So Wreck-It Ralph was all kinds of AWESOME and really clever! It felt like a Pixar movie since it reminds me of Toy Story - how these characters have lives of their own when humans aren't looking.

For all those gamers, the first 15 minutes alone has so many gaming and character references. I wish I could've paused each frame to see what characters they included in the background and I'm sure I missed alot since I'm not a huge gamer myself. But the ones I did notice were great! Especially the Street Fighter references.

Even in 3D, the visuals were bright and like eye-candy (literally since a large part of the movie takes place in a candy world) and I loved all the pixel art Disney created. There's so much attention to detail. It's worth it to stay through the credits just to see the custom pixel art Disney made to integrate the Wreck-It Ralph characters into popular old-school games.

    Go see it!!!

P.S. The short film shown at the beginning was SUPER cute and awww-w

    Great for Adults and Kids

I took my ten-year old son to see the movie, after we both saw how much animation was involved.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the reminders of the great video games of the past, especially Q-Bert, and my son enjoyed the humor, and is already looking for the movie on DVD in the store!

If you have not yet seen it, go see it with someone. It will be an enjoyable time for all!

    Save your money on 3D

    by knjzmom

The kids will enjoy the movie eventhough the storyline had problems. it seems to drag at certain points. Also there arent enough 3D effects. Save your money on 3D.

    A gamer's film

    by jeckrt

I am a gamer at heart, and Wreck-It Ralph was my cup of tea. It wasn't a movie based on a video game, but a movie based on video games. Wreck-It Ralph is the story of an arcade game character who has played the role of villain for 30 years and gets fed up with not being recognized for his efforts. So in order to prove that he can be a hero, he travels through electrical cords to other games.

The visuals is quite an odd mix, in a good way. Many characters can look like sprites (A collection of pixels) of their 3d selves in the view of kids, and some more modern characters are given more definition than others.

Many franchise characters are given cameos, but the biggest notable mention was Sonic's cameo, complete with Roger Craig Smith as the voice actor. Overall, it was a torrent of intellectual property that makes the gamer in me plum giddy.

The movie is good in terms of plot, music, and comedy for kids to adults. Just watch out for Kano's 'Fatality' early in the film.

    Fun to watch

    by

Saw the 3D version -- the technology keeps getting better and better. Wreck-it-Ralph really leveraged 3D effects to create a visual experience that used 3D rather than just showing it off. As for the movie, I found the world they created interesting in a "Toy Story" sort of manner. The story was fun and Sara Silverman's character was hilarious. The bad-guys-anonymous meetings were REALLY a lot of fun to watch. Overall, though, while the beginning and ending of the movie were engaging if very predictable, the middle (spent mostly in the Sugar Rush game) got very slow. Take your kids!

    Back in the Day …

Gotta say how much I enjoyed this experience. My grandson wanted to see this "Wreck It, Ralph" movie so bad. So his Grandma and I took him to the 3-D showing. He was thrilled, but NOT as much as I did. I was one of those "kids" (adult) tossing quarters into games at arcades. It was delightful to see "old friends" like Pacman, Qbert, et al bought to life from nasty old pixels I would stare at for HOURS at a time. Sorry, but all the people sitting in that theatre had NO IDEA of the characters and games depicted. I was THRILLED (and the 3-D wasn't bad, either!!)!!!!
