Adam, where was the effort?

I took my daughter and a friend to see Hotel Transylvania in 3d. I gave it a so-so because it is very family friendly and the girls loved it. So all in all I got my money's worth. However, if you are an Adam Sandler fan (even if your not) and are expecting some kind of sardonic wit for the adults, you will be sorely disappointed. This was not the gut busting humor fest of Finding Nemo or Despicable Me. Maybe my expectations were too high, but knowing that Adam has done better(such as Mr. Deeds and Click), I really don't think so. The inflection of his character's voice did not change through the whole movie to reflect any emotions. The jokes could have been waaaay better, knowing the caliber of comedian he is, and still family friendly.
The acting of the other characters, and the directing carried the rest of movie. The concept for the story was a good one but maybe a bit too overdone.
Take the family to see it, just don't expect too much.

Hotel Transylvania was fun....

I took my 9 year old granddaughter and she wanted to review it:

I loved it! It was so funny and the best movie for Halloween! The sand dude and Mavis were my favorite characters. I liked that Mavis was an independent vampire that wanted to go out on her own. The sand dude was crazy funny. The big Frankenstein was funny, too and I also liked the jelly dude because he looked like jello and was jiggly. They were all fun characters. I would recommend this film to all kids.

This movie was great!! My husband and I took our 11 year old son and we were all laughing throughout the movie. We all enjoyed it. It is truly one of the better kid movie we have seen in a while. THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!!!!

Great in 3D!

Loved this movie! We took our 7 year old son and we all loved it! I am pretty sure he didn't get all of he humorous references, but the visuals were just as entertaining.

Movie was fine crowd not so much

I liked this movie it was fun but my review is about the person sitting next to me in the theater. I have never seen a more low class individual in public. Burping every three seconds loudly so that it was hard to hear the movie and not doing anything to stop it. WORDS OF ADVICE IF YOU ARE SOCIALLY INEPT DONT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely a cute Girl meets boy animated movie

Decent movie. However, not worth seeing in 3D! not enough action to entertain within 3D. Entertaining for small kids that are not easily scared, but if you are a parent who does not condone 'girl-boy' kissing scenes (like most other princesses and princes or Barbie type of animated movies), then you may want to cover your little ones eyes on these type of scenes. Just saying... Other than that, the movie was cute, LOVED the characters, but Not at all funny as I thought it would be. But I laughed at the 'teenage to adult' humor punchlines. Kids did not! again just saying a lot of hype around this movie and not enough substance to keep little ones entertain...

Loved it!

This movie exceeded my expectation. My whole family was laughing from start to finish. Adam Sandler did a great job being the Dracula and what I liked the most was that the movie was very current story wise. It's a must see if you like cartoon movies!

Beautiful!

Me and my husband took our 5 and 7 year old to see this movie. However I was more excited to see this then they were. I loved the connection between daughter and father in this movie the unconditional love that it represented. I think everyone should go and see this movie its funny and beautifully written for the whole family.

Great for kids & adults!

I went to see this with my 5-year old daughter and loved it! There was a great balance of kids' jokes and 'adult' jokes that little ones wouldn't understand, but had me cracking up. We saw Paranorman 2 weeks ago, and I'd MUCH rather watch this again.

Amazing movie for everybody ages...Funny...Wonderful script...I loved to hear Steve Buscemi voice in there. That was an amazing surprise...Very good movie...do miss it

As In all it was a good movie. The problem resided with the run-up to it. The commercials made it seem like the main idea was a comedy about the hotel and its guest. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The movie is a love story, which on its on right was good, but again, the commercials lead you to believe a different idea. You expect something happening to the guest in the hotel but wind up sitting through a love story. So, eh.

Suprisingly good

i took my grand kids to see the movie. we enjoyed the characters. it was funny and had some
touching moments. my grnddaughter said, "i love it" my other grddaughter liked the character
who ate the scooter. fun fun fun

I thought the movie was adorable and my daughter who is 8 loved it. It had some funny moments and some learning moments too. Nothing over rated or gross just plan funny.
