    Mediocre at best

    by kenhahn

Especially following on the heels of "Tangled", I'm disappointed with the trend of the classic overtold teen love story creeping into modern kid's animation. Not only do I find a blandness in the plot, I also find a pretty big gap in the subject matter vrs what I think the intended age group is. Then wrap it in cheese. Add in genderfication and the glorification of cookie-cutter-bland modern pop music for the outro, and this is one I'd have steered my 7 year old away from. What happened to Shrek and Monster's Inc?

    Crazy good family fun!!

Took my 5 y.o. to see this movie in 3D, it was one of the cutest movies we've seen in a long while. It's got something for everyone kids will love the crazy antics of the monsters and adults will love the carefully placed and tasteful puns and innuendos. At it's core it's a delightful story of growing up and a father's love for his daughter... I LOVED the way this story unfolded and left the theater with my daughter excited to buy this when it comes out on DVD. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to anyone who wants to laugh with their kids.....

    Better than expected

Held my 50 year bold interest and that of an 8 year old Gil and 11 year old boy. Good mix of child entertainment and comical references for an older generation.

parents you will be laughing throughout the movie

    by maaklry

Parents will enjoy this movie as much as the children. Fathers will want to kiss their princesses and rethink our approach as protectors. Very good Father daughter movie.

    Hotel Transylvana

It was a great movie . I enjoyed the voices of all the comedians I knew. Had a great plot, characters a d setting. The best part was when the town accepted them and helped them. That was avoid lesson for children and adults . I give it 5 stars

    Amazing Animation!

I must say this was one of the best movies ive seen. The animation was amazing. I loved the way the characters were not made to look like scary monsters but more comical. All in all its a great movie and a great family movie!

    Fun for the Whole Family!

    by skd5150

I hadn't seen too many previews for this movie, but what I did see looked cute. So glad I went! Great story, lots of laughs, and enough adult humor to keep the grown-ups interested. I especially loved all the SNL Alums who voiced many of the characters!

    Hotel Transylvania

One grandmother, two parents, two kids 8 and 5, and one 18 year old: We ALL enjoyed the movie. It was hilariously written and great fun for the whole family. Literally.

The sweet relationship between parents and children (even ghoulish ones) was very refreshing.

HOWEVER, save your money and see this WITHOUT blowing your 3-D dollars!! WHY are these fake barely 3-D movies allowed to be billed as 3-D?

    Cute, Not great

    by

I saw this in 3-D and would definitely NOT recommend seeing it that way. The 3-D was off for most of the shots, only the objects right up front are in focus, the rest blurry. I mostly sat through the film seeing double. (Others in the audience agreed) It was a cute movie, good voice performances. The movie was nothing to get excited about. If I could do it over again, I would not have paid the money to see it. It's a get it from Redbox kind of movie. All in all, it was so-so.

    Family Fun

My son and I loved it. I felt like a little kid, laughing and commenting along with all the children in the theater. So much fun!

If you want to see a film with your children that isn't a chore to watch, check it out!

    Hotel Transylvania

It was a great movie for adults and kids. Dracula was so funny. Blah-blah-blah.

    Vapid...

I don't think it's a good movie. It made me drowsy. The hotel was too boisterous and the story line was naive. However, it may be suitable to chidren. Anyway, I guess it's not for people above 20's.

Hotel Transylvania: Fun From Start To Finish

    by 3DNA2

Like many others, I read critic reviews prior to taking my children to see this movie. It was mixed with many going on and on about how the first 20 minutes was basically it and the rest of the movie dragged. Some even going so far as to getting really detailed with deep critiquing lingo. Thank goodness I didn't pay attention to their crap. My kids could not stop talking about the movie after leaving the theater recalling bits and pieces of the movie with cackling laughter. As the adult of the bunch I was thoroughly entertained to say the least. The movie has a lovely message delivered simply and with phenomenal comedic tones. Needless to say, a great way to spend an hour and a half of your time along with the kiddos. Loads of conversation material for afterwards. Highly recommended!
