Good original story

My son and I really liked this movie. I think it was great for his age (he's 11). It was funny, witty, and a great original story. I think adults will enjoy also, there were plenty of laughs. It was also good to have such familiar voices in the cast.

The only bad thing I have to say is that I don't think it was necessary to pay the extra for 3D, There were very few parts of the movie where the 3D view made any difference.

Good entertainment for kids

Excellent graphics, but no need to spring for 3D. Children and tweens will like it. Good family entertainment - not much there for adults to really enjoy, except playing the game of identifying the actor behind the character's voice.

Adam, where was the effort?

I took my daughter and a friend to see Hotel Transylvania in 3d. I gave it a so-so because it is very family friendly and the girls loved it. So all in all I got my money's worth. However, if you are an Adam Sandler fan (even if your not) and are expecting some kind of sardonic wit for the adults, you will be sorely disappointed. This was not the gut busting humor fest of Finding Nemo or Despicable Me. Maybe my expectations were too high, but knowing that Adam has done better(such as Mr. Deeds and Click), I really don't think so. The inflection of his character's voice did not change through the whole movie to reflect any emotions. The jokes could have been waaaay better, knowing the caliber of comedian he is, and still family friendly.
The acting of the other characters, and the directing carried the rest of movie. The concept for the story was a good one but maybe a bit too overdone.
Take the family to see it, just don't expect too much.

Must see!

This is a great movie for the whole family. I went alone but there were several families there and all seemed to have a good time. There was a story along with the action and something with which all families will relate - the kids grow up too soon and want to go out into the world and the adults are afraid they will lose them. Although more literal this time, there is fun mixed in with the story. Good in 3D and not over the top. Good, clean, fun.

for a kids movie it was great. i loved everything about it if i have kids of my own i would go take them. it would make them learn to love people different from them. it was also really funny and i almost fall off my seat

This movie was hilarious, and a good time. The 3D was really good, and the jokes were funny. If you are looking for a family movie this would be it. So take your family, and go see Hotel Transylvania.

This movie was great!! My husband and I took our 11 year old son and we were all laughing throughout the movie. We all enjoyed it. It is truly one of the better kid movie we have seen in a while. THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!!!!

i took my grand kids to see the movie. we enjoyed the characters. it was funny and had some
touching moments. my grnddaughter said, "i love it" my other grddaughter liked the character
who ate the scooter. fun fun fun

Hotel Transylvania was fun....

I took my 9 year old granddaughter and she wanted to review it:

I loved it! It was so funny and the best movie for Halloween! The sand dude and Mavis were my favorite characters. I liked that Mavis was an independent vampire that wanted to go out on her own. The sand dude was crazy funny. The big Frankenstein was funny, too and I also liked the jelly dude because he looked like jello and was jiggly. They were all fun characters. I would recommend this film to all kids.

Very cute and silly movie!

We went with another family and their kids, good times had by all. Very cute, fun night out with the kids. It's not an "instant classic", so to speak but worth getting out during the Halloween season!

Funny movie for all ages!

I took my two grandchilden, ages 4and 8 to see Hotel Transylvania. The main reason is because I wanted to see it. We all had a great time. The movie is fun for kids of all ages, and it has the inuendos for adults like the Shrek movies have. The adults in the theater were laughing just as hard as the kids. Fun movie! I would go see it again!

Very entertaining - even just for adults

I don't think I even saw a preview before going to see this movie, but I just wanted to see it. I was not disappointed. I'm in my early 30's and took a friend who is in here late 20's. Even with no children with us, we had a great time. It was funny and had a few little jokes that only adults might get, but it wasn't vulgar humor like other children's movies include. The 3-D was ok, but it's not a must for this movie. Unless you just have the extra money burning a hole in your pocket, save the money you would spend on 3-D, and buy your date some popcorn.

A very entertaining movie for kids from preschool to early teens. The preschoolers can see all the monsters they've heard about in action and not be scared into nightmares. Just a lot of funny, silly monster stuff. There are jokes that the older kids will get and they will like the monster jammin' and Johnny, the cool skater dude. I'm a grandma and I loved it as well. Lots of colorful action. The story was sweet. A loving, overprotective father; a teenager who wants to do fun teenage stuff; a compromise everyone,including the audience can live with. I was a little disappointed that David Spade's character was so out-of -the-spotlight because in other animations he's done, his personality comes through so well in the character he plays. I will definitely add this one to my collection.

Best movie we have seen this year! Entertained the whole family. Would definitely see it again. Adam Sandler was hilarious as well as the entire cast of monster characters.
