One of the best "watches" this year

    by RADDAD

Part poignant, part feel good, part inspirational, and definitely funny...

This is well acted and deserves the reviews it is getting overseas. I hope it get into more theatres here in the city. This is a much better flick than most of the drivel that plays in most theatres.

    Love this movie!

    by dvezia

It was FUNNY, charming, moving, touching... Fabulous! Loved this movie from start to end.
PS. I read the critic review by "Variety"... whoever wrote the review should quit their day job. The author called the movie racist. What?? I'm a Black woman. There was nothing racist about this movie. Yes, there were a few parts where the attitudes and perceptions of characters were exposed and challenged. So what?? You can pretend that those attitudes don't exist in the world if you want, but uhhh.. they do! This movie is a wonderful story about finding love and friendship in a totally unexpected place. And those are the types of stories we need to overcome mis and pre conceptions that all of us have about other people. Great movie.

    An Amazing Film!

    by jzactor

This is truly an amazing film with a simple plot about a crippled man who needs to hire a personal assistant. It sounds very ordinary and this theme has been dealt with in other films of the past but not like this film! The acting in this film is so great and each character brings multi-dimensions of human life to the story. I was captivated from the beginning. The crowd I saw it with here in New York ALL applauded when it was over, for a long time! That is rare because this film is such a great blend of pathos, struggle, humor, delight, despair, all within the relationship of a crippled man and his personal assistant. I do not want to spoil any suprises or best moments because they are all the best. Go and see it, trust me! ASAP!

    by tusseyd

I was cautious going to any movie with subtitles, but The Intouchables won my heart. Great movie. What's with the French and great movies these days?

    Count Me "In"

If you find yourself yearning for a break from the unimaginative and predictable Hollywood formula (weak or non-existent screenplay propped up by gratuitous sex/violence/bad language all of which is smeared against the obligatory backdrop of computer generated images, stunts, and special effects), then treat yourself to this simple little gem.

Excellent story-telling/screenplay, dialog, and pacing all supported by a terrific role-inhabiting ensemble who play out the humor, pathos and, most importantly, the hope and spirit of this well-crafted movie. Special bonus: the eclectically exquisite soundtrack, and as the credits roll, the brief 8mm image of the two men the movie was based on.

    This movie is fabulous! Go!

This story about a wealthy paralyzed Frenchman and the highly unlikely man he hirea to care for him is phenomenal...you really shouldn't miss it. The acting is fantastic, with a great cast of people you've probably never heard of. Driss, the carer, is explosive...like a puma ready to jump on life and eat it all up. He's so vital and strong, but also sensitive in such basic ways. This is not a chick flick. It's a fabulous human story anyone would like. Go see it!

    Great Movie

This movie was fantastic. A must see for anyone who wants a close up look at human interaction that makes you both laugh and cry. This was a feel good movie and judging from the faces of folks leaving the theater everyone enjoyed themeselves. I'm going to see it again.

    Uplifting

    by

Loved this film, although often times it was formulaic humor. The director had a great eye for the natural beauty of his subjects and settings, so it was a visual feast as well as a heartwarming tale of friendship. Would love to see Omar Sy in other films to discover his range as an actor. Since it is based on a true story, I rate it as Must Go! for the human spirit element.

    Sympa!

C'est tellement drôle qu'on ne peux pas le voir sans rigoler. Oui, il y a des gaffes qui m'a fait pensé que le directeur n'a jamais passé un instant chez une famille africaine. Mais, au fond, ça fait rire encore de plus.

    A gem!

This movie will make you cry, laugh and think! It is based on a true story between two men from very different background. The acting is superb and you definitely find yourself thrown in a story of friendship and compassion. As far as I am concerned this is one of the best movies of 2012.

    Fantastic Movie

This is a fantastic movie. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. The main actors give very strong performances; you really feel part of this moving story. It is both funny and touching in its portrayal of two people who help each other overcome life's very difficult problems. .

    Loved It

    by cina-ma

Based on real characters, this French film follows the touching and funny relationship between two unlikely "friends." The characterizations, writing, unexpected plot events, and fantastic musical choices all were spot on. For me, the movie flew by, effortlessly and beautifully.

    Simply Amazing

That's what movies are supposed to be like .... After seeing this movie, you realize how much Hollywood has to do to get back into meaningful movies. This movie is funny, stimulating, moving, and a great feel-good movie about humanity. It makes you want to delve more into substantial relationships with every person you encounter, and get to know your neighbor and the underdog. The fact that is a true story even makes it more meaningful.
