    Trouble with the Curve

I think this movie was good but not great. I love Clint Eastwood, I think he's amazing. I found the story to be interesting but totally predictable. It didn't help that they had Justin Timberlake in it either. He gives a one dimensional performance at best and in my opinion lessons the movie's credibility simply by being in it. Seriously? He's going to measure up to Clint Eastwood? He doesn't even deserve to be in the same room with him let alone share the big screen with him. Amy Adams delivers a solid performance, as usual. She is believable and likable too. The way the whole movie wraps up is far fetched and a quick fix for something that should have had a more realistic ending. All in all I was glad to have seen it but I'd wait for it to find it's way on cable before spending any money on it in the theaters.

    trouble with the curve

Was a great movie. It's great to watch a good clean movie without all the shoot in up and violance. Clint Eastwood still has it. Justin Timberlake was pretty cute also. Love the movie!
Good for anyone over the age of 8.

    Better than I expected

I don't understand why critics could rate the movie Master as well as they did and not rate this movie way better. This movie was worth the time, unlike the movie Master. Amy Adams seems to have an "A" list movie future. John Goodman was perfect for this role too.

    Good movie

    by Cynetix

This movie has heart. Clint is the perfect crotchety old man and its good to see him show some sensitivity. Justin's character is really down to earth and I enjoyed his performance. Amy Adams made this movie in my opinion (and my wife as well). Not only is she great to look at, she kept this movie going and provided the glue that made it a story. Recommended for a date movie or guys who aren't afraid of admitting they like chick flicks but not the pathetic kind on Lifetime.

I definitely want to see it again but will wait until it hits DVD/Netflix/Hulu.

    Trouble With The Curve

I saw this movie without knowing what it was about. I enjoyed the story line and thought the relationship between father and daughter was quite poignant. It gave me a new prespective on baseball. I think it is a worhtwhile movie to watch.

    Excellent film

Loved the film. A film for adults, and also a couple flick. Classic clint eastwood one liners. Great story about father and daughter relationships. Excellent cast of actors.

    The Curve

    by tfscott

I really liked this movie. It was somewhat predictable, but I liked it. Clint did a great job as the crotchety aging father. The tension between the father and daughter was believable. Justin did a good job and he is so cute : )

    Good stuff

More about a father daughter relationship hidden in a baseball movie. Clint is great as a cranky old guy who has regrets, Amy is great again. She plays this role so well. A strong daughter who shows just how fragile she is when dealing with & trying to get her dad to talk and explain why she was left as a child.
Justin Timberlake is a great surprise. Actually all but a few of the movies he's been in he's has been great to watch.
Over all I like this movie a lot, I have a feeling it is Clint's last movie as an actor. I 'm gonna miss watching him or the movies he directs. Cant believe he's been doing this my entire life.
Go & see, you'll like it even if you don't like baseball.

    Vulnerable Eastwood

I really admired Clint Eastwood's performance. How many actors who made their name as action / tough-guy roles are okay playing a character whose age is getiing the better of them. Definitely proves that old age is not for the faint of heart.

Great Movie -- great cast and fantastic acting

This was a great story that really appeals to those looking for more depth in a movie than just big crashes or CGI. Clint's still got it and brings home the angst and regret his character is dealing with. Justin and Amy do a great job keeping the love story going and giving the characters some depth.

Older kids can go to this -- a few swear words, a couple times there's a reference to topics that may warrant further discussion.

It's a fun movie, always want to root for Clint to bring it home! You'll enjoy it -- worth the time and money.

Trouble with the Curve has Trouble

Like these types of movies in general; sports theme, feel good etc and like Clint Eastwood. However, found the movie to be just OK. Clint's character seemed to old for the age of the daughter and when his wife passed. Got a little slow in spots. BUT, an enjoyable movie but only if one likes the thematic in this movie in general (sports stories). If you don't, wait till it comes out on NetFlix or DVD. Save you some money.

    Trouible with the Curve

This movie is actually better than So-So, but not a definite Go. Clint is Gus, a baseball scout for the Atlanta Braves. He used to be considered one of the very best. His eyesight has gotten worse. Some of the boys in charge upstairs are wondering if he can still do the job including Vince(played by Robert Patrick) who would like to see him gone. The pressure is on for Gus (Clint) to get il right in scouting a hot prospect--Bo Gentry (Joe Massingill).

His daughter, Mickey, (Amy Adams), is approached by Gus's long-time friend and head of scouting for the Braves, Pete Klein (John Goodman) to find out if Gus still has what it takes.
Mickey and Gus have many unsettled issues and then Johnny (Justin Timberlake), new scout for the Red Sox, reenters Gus's life and so enters Amy's life.

Seeing Clint shed a tear or two might be enough for some to go see this movie. A young Eastwood (not Clint)can be seen at the start of the movie and a highly satisfactory ending are two more.

A feel good movie that you walk away from with a smile. Eastwood as an irrascible old man as only he can be. Story is predictable but plenty of laughs and issues. A good escape and fun.
