    Paranormal Activity 4

Not nearly as good as Paranormal Activity 1, 2 or 3. Had I known then, what I know now, I would've waited for it to come out on Netflix. IJS...

    Like the Others

If you like the genre enough to keep supporting it, then go. It's no different than the others, and, as usual, all the action happens in the last few minutes. The theater, including myself, was laughing out loud at the "terror" that occurred at the end of the movie. Of course, plenty of loose ends as they are probably making Paranormal 5 as we speak.

Jumps and Thrills, on a Crashing Coaster

    by

I saw Paranormal Activity 1-3, and I was hooked from the start. I loved the "found-footage" aspect to the movies and I was also intrigued by the background story, so I decided to watch the fourth Paranormal Activity. Sadly, the story-line barely inched forward and nothing remarkably new was introduced. Thankfully, the filmmaker added plenty of moments where I was pressed into the back of my seat, waiting for something to jump out or rush across the camera. The director did a great job with the suspense factor, and I think that this is what the film should be recognized for. As for acting, Katie did a great job acting possessed, and Kathryn Newton seemed genuinely frightened. Brady Allen and Aiden Lovekamp were great additions to the screen as well. In the end, I just wish that the director expounded on the background story more and finished off the series. This is probably the last one I'll see.

    STUPID!!

I took my son to see this movie and he said it was "so awesome" but if you are over 15 I'd say dont waste your money. It was so stupid & predictable, I swear it was not even scary enough to raise my heartbeat one tiny bit. As with the other movies, the only part even remotely "scary" is the last 60 seconds. To be fair, I do not consider many movies at all to be scary, especially horror films or far-fetched psycho stuff. Anyway, I really thought this was dumb. The theater was filled with high-school kids and a few adults couples and the women & teenagers all jumped & screamed at every little bump. Personally if you really want to see it, save $19 (ticket & popcorn) and wait a few months until it comes on to red box.

    Awesome!

    by

It was better then the third movie for sure. This one had a lot of scary parts. It kept us on the edge of our seats. I will have to see it again to connect all the parts. In the beginning of the movie, the camera bounces so much it cause's motion sickness. My youngest daughter and I both experienced that. My hubby and oldest daughter had no problems.
I still have a lot of questions to how everyone and everything connected. However, I believe a movie should leave you guessing. I can't wait for it to come out on dvd so, I can get the answer's I am seeking. I would go back and see it, ten more times. Loved It!

    Disappointing

This movie was very disappointing for me. I didn't hate it, but, it was not as good as the others. I was expecting more than what it was. I expected the movie to be slow pretty much throughout like the others, with little things happening here and there to make you jump. This movie did not make me jump at all. I kept waiting for something to happen, but, it never did. The action happened at the last 5 minutes of the movie and even that wasn't that good. It then ended and we all just looked at each other like...that's it?! The preview that they play for the movie wasn't even in the movie. A real disappointment. I only rated it so so because of the little bit of suspense that it gave me, which, unfortunately did not follow through.

    Terrible

The build up was not dramatic enough, the scary scenes were boring. The whole movie was boring and predictable all the way through. There is absolutely no story line and no genuine scare. The last 10 minutes is what make the movie, and even those minutes were predictable and scary only due to sound effects and in your face scenes. Overall boring. Do not recommend.

    Good

If you have seen the rest and liked it you would probably like this one. The suspense for me is always the best. The way it ended, I am sure there will be more. Even some of the guys screamed like girls.

    Paranormal Activity IV

Creepy and frightening this continuing saga with Katie and the demon that has possessed her causing trauma tragedy to her Family. Actress Ms. Featherston and new comers Alex, Robbie, Wyatt/Hunter (what a sweeter) and the Parents all shined and their characters domed from the start: I'm still hoping there is a way out for KATIE & HUNTER for if there's an evil/Satan there is something just as powerful healing on the good/Angelic side that can kick this demon's ass!! Even if it means Katie will die freeing Hunter. I want it to be a way for them out of this tragedy that the Grandmother brought this Sinister being to her Family (granddaughter's Katie & Kristi) by being in a evil Cult. If there's an Evil force then surely there's an powerful Angelic force to save this Family. I hoping MICAH (although his dead/but the Spirit lives) is that force to battle the evil that KATIE is possessed with!!

    Typical Paranormal Activity

Another year, another Paranormal Activity. This one follows the same tried-and-true formula for creating suspense. But the cat's out of the bag for this one. You almost expect all the scary moments, as they all are taken from previous Paranormals. Still the movie uses lighting and sound well to create the perfect atmosphere for a fright. The coolest aspect of it is how it uses an Xbox Kinect and a night vision camera. The night vision camera picks up the tracking dots that the Kinect uses to track movement, so just imagine the possibilities. All in all, not the scariest or the best Paranormal Activity. But if you like them, you'll at least enjoy this somewhat. Otherwise, don't waste ten bucks on ever increasing movie tickets.

Not as good as the last one

    by

I understand that the third one was found to be the past of the past three movies, so it might not be fair to compare it to the past movies.

Paranormal Activity 4 has its cool factor from the KINECT dots being projected and stuff along those lines. The MacBook does a great job at immersing you in a scene where seeing the character whirling around and trying to figure out what's going on, while capturing decent emotion.

However, half of this movie is composed of two horny teens, two indolent, dimwitted parents, and two boys... with your demon-mama showing up from time to time. The incidents seemed far more predictable/drawn-out. And the scene with the boy on the big-wheel seemed more like a nod to The Shining than its predecessors.

Don't get me wrong, tensions rise halfway through. I had a tingly arm and a petrified girlfriend at the end of the flick. I guess I can just think of far worse things to happen.

    Cheap Thrills

    by Eckstrm

    NEGATIVE:
The movie was slow to build, and jumped from action to action without any real sense. In the prior ones, things happened, people poked at a Demon or whatnot and there was a response. This movie used a cat to jump out at certain times for a cheap thrill, and only really made you jump within the last 10 minutes of the movie.

    POSITIVE:
The way they used the Xbox connect was ingenious with night vision.

    OVERALL:
All in all I'd call this an Epic Fail. I loved the first few movies, this one unfortunately fell short in my book. If you really liked the first few Paranormal Activity movies, You should stay home. This movie isn't worth your time.

    What A Horrible Movie Franchise!

Okay this is my first movie review, I never done this before but I am just angry on how everyone is hyping this movie too much. This movie sucks, some people just get scared too easily. I hope another one is not in the making "Stop The Madness Please". The biggest thrill in this movie is having little kids all around you screaming just because the room is dark and the sound is on full blast. Never again!!! they should have put this movie out straight to dvd/blueray dics. Hate It!!!

    Decent plot, some good scares

Answered some questions from the first two movies, expounded a bit from number three. Looking forward to number five (more sequels, of course) if only to have all my questions answered. All in all not my favorite of the bunch, but defiantly not the worst. Made me jump a good amount of times. Good to see if a fan, best if you love the series.
