    Paranormal Activity 4: In revivew...

    The scares were really enjoyable & probably the sole reason I'd recommend others to go see it. However, there was too little plot development. The trailers gave the impression that EVERYTHING about this witch cult would be explained, (from overall purpose, role of the teenage blonde, and detailed information about the symbolisms/witch coven). None of that was elaborated upon and it just, vaguely, faded to black. Rating (5 out 10), Scare factor (8.5 out of 10)

    Where can they go now?

    All the activity has led to what?! This movie was what you're expecting nothing new there! While I loved the movie, I must say that I would rate it below the other three. It is slow compared to the other three. Not alot going on really. It focuses more on the f***ed lil kid from across the street. I would go watch it again and will buy the Blu-ray when it comes out but I would have to give it an 8 out of 10. They focused a lil bit on the circle in the triangle design but never explained it?! Why put it in the movie if you're not going to elaborate on the significance of it? The ending is the best part of the movie. Brace yourself for the last 15 minutes, as it is easily the most f***ed part of the movie!! Still, if you're a fan of the series you will want to see this movie just don't expect anything new. Don't really know how much more they can do with this series. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Still just want to see how much more they can do with this.

    Paranormal Activity 4 .... disappointing!

    I was so excited to see PA 4 and what they had planned and was greatly disappointed in most of the movie. I like that suspenseful ride you take through all their movie's and this one just let you down. There were some jump moments but it just felt ...blah. I really wanted it to be good but they really let you down in this one. They still don't let you in on the actual story line ..witches ..cults..demons ...what is it and why? I'm hoping they do PA 5 and explain anything and go back to scaring the life out of you ...my 12 wasn't even scared with this one.

    Normal For Paranormal Activity Franchise.

    Yet another installment, spooking the easily spooked worldwide. True to its formula and as predictably startling as ever, this one carries the audience to what hopefully will be near the end of the story, leaving plenty of room of course for, you guessed it, one more sequel. There's really no such thing out there in movie land as an end, as can be evidenced by the on-going pabulum of horror productions from the seventies and eighties being remade now for a whole new generation. I'll give the "PNA franchise" credit where due, at least it's original material, somewhat bad, but original. Is it worth a ticket's price? I'd say if you plan to see it, it would be best in a theater on a huge screen. I can't imagine how dull and awful this would play on a TV, much less an Iphone. Still, if you saw the others, you're going to see this one regardless what anyone says, so see it. Likely, you won't be disappointed. It's no blockbuster but it isn't as bad as they get either.

    Scary but not over the top

    The story was weird...where's Robbie from? How did the family get Wyatt? Beyond that, there were certainly some scary parts. The freaky noises, the people that appear out of nowhere, chairs moving, etc.
    the last 10 minutes were the scariest for sure!
    I enjoyed. I wouldn't see it again, but it was good.

    Cheap Thrills

    NEGATIVE:
    The movie was slow to build, and jumped from action to action without any real sense. In the prior ones, things happened, people poked at a Demon or whatnot and there was a response. This movie used a cat to jump out at certain times for a cheap thrill, and only really made you jump within the last 10 minutes of the movie.

    POSITIVE:
    The way they used the Xbox connect was ingenious with night vision.

    OVERALL:
    All in all I'd call this an Epic Fail. I loved the first few movies, this one unfortunately fell short in my book. If you really liked the first few Paranormal Activity movies, You should stay home. This movie isn't worth your time.

    Paranormal is getting tired...

    The first two were scarier. This one didn't even really advance the story line, and left us with more questions than we had before. The camera angle didn't offer anything new except the X-Box infrared stuff, and they didn't even really play that to full effect. It could have been much better. If Paranormal 5 comes out, I won't be going to see it.

    It's worth the price

    Like all other paranormal activity movies this one is slow for first half and then then rest scares the heck out of you. You might want to bring a change of underwear!

    I love the franchise, but this movie was a complete bomb. By the time it got good it ended, the scary parts on TV were not in he movie except for a few scenes. The plot could have been better if they made some sense out of it and the last scene completely weird. Seriously wanted my 12 bucks back plus the cost for the food because it was a waste of time.

    Scary & Intense

    While not quite as good as 1 and 2, the movie did have its share of terror and suspense. The end was very scary but also a little confusing. Overall, it was a decent movie that is well worth going to see.

    Paranormal Activity 4

    I have seen all 4 paranormal activities now, and number 4 was the worst, No scary stuff, No jumping out of your chair, No grabbing the guy next to you.. Very DULL Movie...I was very disappointed this time. I hope they make a better one next time.. Not worth the mone I spent.

    F**k Found Footage

    Paranormal Activity 4 is the epitome of what is wrong with the found footage genre. This would have made for a decent horror flick if it had been filmed normally. Because it was all found footage it is a sack of contrived garbage.

    End of the line.

    The "Paranormal Activity" series has been known to use slight of hand when it comes to things included in the film's trailer and what is actually contained within the confines of the film; sometimes it's something like a burning house that never appears, sometimes it's a scare here or there removed for continuity, and the same was done with "P.A.4" - the downside being what was left out this time was anything the least bit scary.

    Every attempt at a jump in this fourth installment is an editing scare, most of which brings comedic relief. (EDIT JUMP) (LOUD NOISE) it's the mom cooking. (EDIT JUMP) (LOUD NOISE) kids are playing Kinect. It's an entire two-hour movie of this repeated cop-out gag. There is no atmosphere, no build-up, and nothing of what you'd expect given the impact of the others. To make matters worse, the story line is incoherent and sets itself up for at least one more prequel AND sequel. "Paranormal" didn't run out of steam... it hit a brick wall and pooped itself.

    More Freaky Than Scary

    A good movie if you are not super observant and are not going for its fear factor - it has none. However, the last half hour of the movie is the best and most alarming.

    Only go see if you have a real interest in the supernatural.
