    Happy with Hobbit

    by grimble

Really enjoyed it. Confused why the first book of the four book trilogy was released last, but that did not detract from my enjoying the movie.

    Highly recommended.

It is a long one, so make sure you hit the restroom before going into the theater!

    Does Not Disappoint!

Peter Jackson brings to life the Hobbit in this first movie of the trilogy. He reintroduces us to characters from LOTR and all new characters for this adventure. So much to take in that more than 1 viewing is required!

Make sure you take your potty break before it starts because it is a long haul before you can go again!

    Outstanding!

    by

An incredible movie. Jackson's abilities have grown greatly and it shows in this film. The pacing is PERFECT, the drama riveting, the sets and scenery are spectacular. It is impossible to sit through the movie with a dry eye.

The film feels, moves, and looks more polished than the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The actors all fit their roles perfectly. Martin Freeman is the perfect Bilbo, much better than Elijah as Frodo.

Even if you have not read the books you will be enthralled by this film. This movie surpassed all of my expectations.

The only negative aspect is the wait until we get to see the other two parts!

A bit long but incredibly well done

And as for length, this is only part 1 of 3! It's going to be awhile before we get to the ending!

Fantastic effects, pity that the acting isn't quite at that same level. Gollum is incredible though.

If you read the Hobbit and liked it then you have to go. You don't really have a choice now do you?

    The Hobbit is excellent!

    by pdfriz

Saw it in 3D (not IMAX) and in 24frames per second. I'm not a fan of the "soap opera effect", so unless you are, I wouldn't recommend viewing it in a theater showing it at 48 frames per second.

It's a must see. Great story, great effects. Though it's based on a book written for children, there is a lot of violence, so be careful about taking young children, hence the PG-13 rating.

    The Hobbit 3D

    by

We had a great time going to see this movie. The scenery was beautiful, but beyond that the battles were intense, exciting and kept you on the edge of your seat. Content-wise, not a bad deal for kids, though some may find the action scenes a little scary. The music immediately draws you in and we weren't very far into the movie when I'd decided that the soundtrack would definitely be a worthwhile purchase. The ending was a little sudden, but definitely leaves you wanting more. We'll definitely be coming back to see the next installment as soon as it's released.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 3D

I absultely LOVED this movie. If you have read the book prior to the movie you will be pleased. It has so many things from the book in the movie and you get so involved and caught up in the movie. I would recommend all my family and friends to go see this movie and I would even see it again. I can't wait for the next monie to come out.

    Hobbit

Husband and I loved this movie and really thought the 3d was great. We did not know it was going to be a trilogy so ending definitely left us wanting more. If you loved the books and the Lord of the Rings movies you will not be disappointed.

Great Holiday movie for the whole family

Adventure, excitement, and the bonds formed by bringing unlikely union of characters together. Once again we are reminded that you cannot judge a book by its cover and that sometimes the most transformative events in our lives are the unexpected ones.

Best 3D movie I have seen, best movie I have EVER seen overall!

This movie blows the rest of the LOTR series out of the water! I may be biased because The Hobbit was my favorite book of the series however, this movie was VERY well done. The 3D was crisp and perfect, the movie was better cast than the others, and even though there were a few minor differences between the movie and the book... it was incredible! My wife went with me and she loved it! We want to go see Rise of the Guardians 3D, but we are unsure if we will go see it or go watch this again!

    The Hobbit - Five STARS

I read The Hobbit over 40 years ago and quickly became a J.R.R.Tolkein fan. I saw the movie last night in 3D; and commented, repeatedly, to my sister about how awesome the film was. The Shire was as I imagined it to be. The characters (Bilbo, Gandalf, the Dwarvs, the Elves) were consistent with the imagery Tolkein presented in his novel. I remember the many violent confrontations from the novel; and the film captured all of it including Orcs & other Middle Earth bad guys. I plan to see The Hobbit again in 3D, of course. This film is not for small children because of the many violent confrontations as the adventure unfolds.

    Stunning!

Visually beautiful, great casting. Sure, Jackson took some liberties with the Hobbt making into a mini LOTR, but isn't that why we go to Peter Jackson movies? I loved this movie. The 3D was flawless and seamless...effective throughout the movie, not just a few gimmicks here or there (although there are a couple of surprises that made me flinch)
Go see this movie...pay for the XD 3D

    Well worth the money spent

    by

Critics and haters must have super high expectations because I found this movie one of the best fantasy/adventure since Avatar. 3D was spectacular, the story was told well, and enough action to keep my interest sparked.

A Must See if you liked LOTR

    Hobbit

I saw the Hobbit in 3D. I loved it. I thought it followed the booked very closely. I even recognized lines from the book, which I am now rereading.

The 3D and special effects enhanced the story. They were not used as gimmicks.

I am very tempted to see it again, but may wait a week or so before I do.
