Lots of Laughs!!

One of Billy Crystal's best roles - he was made for the part. Loved the premise of old-school vs new-school as it played out in marriage, parenting, and careers (subtle statement about out times) and how each has it's strengths and weaknesses. Well done and tons of fun.

Artie to Fartie

When i first saw this movie this morning, at first it was a little bit slow. It was so slow i thought for a second i was going to start falling asleep and thinking this movie might really stupid. Then it started to pick up and it became really enjoyable. The casting was pretty good. Billy Crystal does his best to be funny when he plays as Artie that is a baseball announcer who soon finds out he gets fired from his job. He and his wife Diane who was played by Bette Midler had no clue on how to become grandparents. It was funny when one of the boys started calling his grandfather Fartie and throughout the movie, the name gets stuck and instead of Artie, he is called Fartie.Even the computer security system or whatever they had at the house called him that.

A pretty good family comedy movie for everyone. To learn how to be a happy family even when there are grandparents involved.

Better than imagined

I took my 10 & 12 year old to see this, expecting not very much. It turned out to be quite an entertaining movie! Pleasantly surprised!

An absolute MUST SEE for the family

One of the best family movies of the year. I am a huge Billy Crystal fan and thought he was awesome. The movie will make you laugh, bring you to tears and make you wonder and reflect. The entire cast is fabulous as is the story line. Definite MUST SEE.

A truly endtertaining movie. Lets your emotions out. Tears, Laughter and not having to dredge that language would be an issue. It goes to show that movies can be entertaining without having to have sexual content and discusting language. A Good writer can get the message across to the viewer without being vulgar. Thank goodness the writers and producers of Parental Guidance did such a good job.

Good, Clean, Funny Family Movie

Very Funny... Perfect Family Movie

I loved this movie... It really shows how parents of each generation are changing, as is the world around them. Billy Crystal and Bette Midler were hilarious as the Grandparents... they say and do what all Grandparents want to say and do, but don't!!!

What an awesome movie.... I laughed, I cried and then I laughed again....Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei were amazing. I'd definitely recommend seeing it!

My husband and I went to see this film, we thought it would give us some laughs. It did that and more. We thought it was a good family film. Good acting. We thought the film was done very tastefully. We laughed and cried!

GREAT MOVIE!

Fantastic movie! I normally have a hard time sitting still in a movie but I was in my seat until the end of this one. Super funny! Nice family story line. Makes you think about your own marriage, parenting, and relationship with your parents as adults. Highly recommend!

Go, but only if you need to see a rated PG movie

The only reason I went to this movie was because my daughter is too young to see "Lincoln". The rest of the family headed off to the other theater, while the two of us saw "Parental Guidance" (she's 8, by the way). It's a sweet movie, and I'm glad we saw it. Do I remember anything about it? No. But it was safe to see--no violence, language or sex. Just kids and their developing relationship with their grandparents. There are much, much better movies out there--this is a "filler" type of movie. I appreciate though that the producers took the the time to make a family movie. The actual content of the film is average, but there are a couple of funny moments.

Who's Parental Guidance?

Great family movie for all. Easy to identify with the characters. The plot is simple, but realistic. (I would love to have that house!) One set of grandparents is preferred over the others. When Bette Midler realizes it's not her, it becomes a great challenge. We all have our own way of raising children. but, who's way is right? This movie will make you laugh. It also made us (my brother and I) cry, but I won't give away the moment. I would definitely recommend it as a "Must Go!" In fact, I'm going to go see it again with the grand kids!

great family movie

It was a refreshing experience to sit in a theatre without hearing curse words or seeing racy scenes in what was called a family movie. This trully is a family movie. It is funny, entertaining, enjoyable movie. We sooo enjoyed it!

Very enjoyable, and appropriate for the entire family

Very entertaining movie appropriate for the entire family. Captures the generational divide in obvious as well as more subtle ways. Don't let the first third of the movie discourage you, it gets better, especially after the parents finally leave town and the focus turns to the relationships between Grandparents and their Grandchildren. The young actors give excellent performances. Middler and Crystal are very good together and fun to watch. Their imrprov acapella duet in the ktitchen is adorable. The messages in the movie are touching and uplifting and at times hilarious.
