Good for Laughs!

Who cannot love a movie with the fabulous Billy Crystal and Bette Midler....you can tell they are friends in 'real life" and their chemistry is pure fun & joy! It's got some great lines, and fun laughs...and with this year of intense, dark, heavy and long movies...this was a good break for us!!

This was a great Holiday time movie for the whole family. Lots of laughs, some tears-but overall a wonderful movie to take grandma/grandpa and all the kids to see. No fighting, no cursing- Biilly Crystal has outdone himself! You will love the youngest member of the family played by Kyle Breitkopf- watch this little boy- he is going places.

Great family movie! Witty, funny and entertaining! Acting was good and we left the theater feeling wonderful! We brought our guests and they loved it too! We highly recommend this movie as a future Christmas classic!

So often it's difficult to find a Comedy/Family movie! THIS was a GREAT movie, we took our 16 & 12 yr. old kids with us and they loved it too. Bette Midler & Billy Crystal were hilarious!!

Great Movie

Don't know why critics panned this movie. I think they forget, people go to the theater to get entertained. If I wanted to learn something, I would go to the museum or or read the Encyclopedia.

I saw this movie because the previews were funny and I wanted to laugh.

So what is not too like?

*The chemistry between Billy Crystal and Bette Midler is undeniable. I wish they would make more movies together.

*Yes it is full of the familiar cliches: busy parents with little time for their kids, setting high expectations and organizing every aspect of their children's lives -- BUT -- it is entertaining!

*You will laugh.

*And when it comes out on DVD, you will see it again.

Movies are supposed to be fun! This one certainly is so go take the family!

great time

this is a great funny family movie I saw with my kids; we all anjoyed and laughed through the entire movie and it had nice heartwarming moments. Go see it; there are no robots, explosions, digital Hobbit effects or quests for a ring, just old fashioned movie and acting.

GREAT FAMILY FILM

It was hilarious and very entertaining. I took my two grand boys and my two great nieces. We were laughing and dancing in our seats the entire show. I enjoyed the fact that they took an ordinary family with everyday situations and made it so funny. The kids were so creative in their acting performances and my youngsters related to them because they were around the same ages. It kept all of us wondering what was going to happen next. So many surprises. I cannot wait to go back and see it again.

GREAT LIGHT HUMOR MOVIE

BILLY CRYSTAL AND BETT MIDLER? NICE WAY TO SPEND A WINTERY AFTERNOON. A LITTLE SLAPSTICK, MARRIAGE HUMOR AND NEUROTIC KIDS, REALLY HEART WARMING, LOTSA FUN EVEN AT THE EXPENSE OF THR OLDER AND THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS.

More than expected

I was expecting Billy Chrystal over the top schtick. He was much more reeled in. So was Midler. The kids were great. Some good life lessons. And even some tears. My kids loved it. We loved it. Not sure what the negative reviewers were expecting from this sort of comedy. But the movie was exactly what I expected and more.

What an awesome movie.... I laughed, I cried and then I laughed again....Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei were amazing. I'd definitely recommend seeing it!

An awesome movie for families! Did cry and laugh a lot. Enjoyed every story line in the show. The grandparents looked great too for their ages. This is a must see! :)

Parental Guidance not for kids

saw this with my 10 year old, too much potty humor, the main characters were likable enough butt the torment they went thru was too over the top, I guess that's the only way Hollywood can portray people that they have no common ground with. Sorry butt i give this a 2 out of 5 stars.

a great family movie

I don't know what the critics are talking about they need to get different jobs cause this movie was funny from start to finish and it had a lot of heart and understanding to how things are different from the way most of us grew up and how it used to be to the way a lot of families and teaching methods are changing and starting to become. In general even just to watch it i think it was a really good movie and i would recommend it to anyone.

This movie was extremely heart warming! As "that Grandmother" I could most certainly relate to Bette Middler and Billy Crystal's plight. It gave me great hope and made me laugh, smile, and cry. All of the best elements of an entertaining movie. Even the grandkids enjoyed it!
