Excellent family movie!

My husband and I see nearly every movie that comes out with the exception of a few that has terrible reviews from both fans AND critics. We almost didn't watch this because of the critics' reviews. Nevertheless, we went to go watch it and it was one of the best movies we've seen recently. Billy Crystal was hilarious and the whole cast was perfect! I laughed, I cried , and made me really value my family even more after watching this movie! I can watch this again!

Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

This movie is predictable, badly acted, and has characters that you struggle to like. The little boy is a huge brat that you wish would just go away. I saw some people leave the theatre in the middle of this movie. I wanted to join them, but the family was there with me. I stuck it out to the end. Ugh.

Hilarious, cute and a tear jerk-er moment as well. Saw it with my mom and we both talked after the movie because the movie got us both thinking about the next generation of parents and children, if we give in to these modern ways of psychologist methods we will be doomed. great film, great cast, and great story line! One more thing I would however love to have a smart house could this be the future for every house in america. If it hasn't been introduced someone needs to market that and quick!!!

This movie is EXACTLY what you would expect form Billy Cystal and Bette Medler. We are both parents and grandparents. This movie said what we have been saying about the turn parenting has taken for a very long time; but it said it in a very funny way.

Good Show

As a grandparent I really liked this show. It is a lot like my life. My chance to instill my lifelong beliefs into my GK's, which I think are important. Got to get those little slackers going!

Critics are idiots!!!

Ok so it's no Oscar winner but it is a GREAT clean, family funny movie. Thank goodness "normal" people are allowed to write recommendations. I'm not going to go into what it's about just know I'm in my 40's went with my husband and teen kids on Christmas, met a family with grade school age kids, EVERYONE loved it. Ok so my 16 yr old son was just ok with it but we all were entertained.

I went to see this movie and I really enjoyed the fact there wasn't any foul language in it. It has a good storyline and the actors were really good. If you want a good laugh, go see it.

the truth is funny

My kids 10 & 6 thought the movie was funny and I thought it was hilarious. Almost, any parenting situation is included.

Parental Guidance not for kids

saw this with my 10 year old, too much potty humor, the main characters were likable enough butt the torment they went thru was too over the top, I guess that's the only way Hollywood can portray people that they have no common ground with. Sorry butt i give this a 2 out of 5 stars.

Parental Guidance

My wife and I saw this movie on Christmas day. We like both Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, and expected it to be funny and take a lighthearted look at parenting and generational child rearing attitudes.

Wow! It was indeed hilarious, as we and the rest of the audience laughed throughout the movie. But......parts of it were very, very touching and relevent to the issues Grandparents face with their kids and Grandkids. The scenes that brought tears are what made the movie a "gotta see" for any one with kids or Grandkids.

Very well written, just the right mix of humor and seriousness. This is a movie I will buy, and I'm not a real big movie buyer.

A truly endtertaining movie. Lets your emotions out. Tears, Laughter and not having to dredge that language would be an issue. It goes to show that movies can be entertaining without having to have sexual content and discusting language. A Good writer can get the message across to the viewer without being vulgar. Thank goodness the writers and producers of Parental Guidance did such a good job.

It's no Uncle Buck

Not as funny as Uncle Buck, but it was an entertaining movie. Shows how new age parents have no clue and how everyone gets a trophy doesn't work.

Very enjoyable, and appropriate for the entire family

Very entertaining movie appropriate for the entire family. Captures the generational divide in obvious as well as more subtle ways. Don't let the first third of the movie discourage you, it gets better, especially after the parents finally leave town and the focus turns to the relationships between Grandparents and their Grandchildren. The young actors give excellent performances. Middler and Crystal are very good together and fun to watch. Their imrprov acapella duet in the ktitchen is adorable. The messages in the movie are touching and uplifting and at times hilarious.

Snoozefest

We walked out after an hour... I guess people are easily entertained. Maybe it gets better in the second hour but my lady and I found it dumb. Not funny. She fell asleep.
