Parental Guidance Delivers

It is so rare in this day and age when you can take the whole family to a non-animated film and everyone , from oldest to youngest , has a good time. Parental Guidance is one of those rare gems. It is a funny , touching , and very entertaining movie that the whole family will enjoy and talk about afterwards. I rarely recommend movies as much as I do this one - go see it!

Great Family Movie

My whole family went yesterday. It was funny enough and my kids aged 14, 11, and 9 enjoyed it. It's nice to have a movie that my whole family could see together without worrying about the language and subject matter!

Artie to Fartie

When i first saw this movie this morning, at first it was a little bit slow. It was so slow i thought for a second i was going to start falling asleep and thinking this movie might really stupid. Then it started to pick up and it became really enjoyable. The casting was pretty good. Billy Crystal does his best to be funny when he plays as Artie that is a baseball announcer who soon finds out he gets fired from his job. He and his wife Diane who was played by Bette Midler had no clue on how to become grandparents. It was funny when one of the boys started calling his grandfather Fartie and throughout the movie, the name gets stuck and instead of Artie, he is called Fartie.Even the computer security system or whatever they had at the house called him that.

A pretty good family comedy movie for everyone. To learn how to be a happy family even when there are grandparents involved.

Good movie for entertainment

Just needed a movie to watch for entertainment purposes and laughter. I got both of these in this movie. Some very funny parts and some very touching parts Critics say don't go ... but if I lived my movie watching paying attention to the critics I would have missed A LOT of really good movies.

My husband and I went to see this film, we thought it would give us some laughs. It did that and more. We thought it was a good family film. Good acting. We thought the film was done very tastefully. We laughed and cried!

the truth is funny

My kids 10 & 6 thought the movie was funny and I thought it was hilarious. Almost, any parenting situation is included.

corny feel good movie

If the Mrs wants to see this it won't be the most painful experience. Actually our 13 year old and I did enjoy it , my wife really enjoyed it. This could certainly be a wait and watch at home. Not much missed by waiting for this one.

Great family movie. Very funny and enjoyable for kids, and even some tear jerker moments for "emotional moms" as my neice called me and her mom who both cried during one scene.

Loved it.. As grandparents we definitely related to it. Billy Crystal and Bette Midler were great together. The 3 children were wonderful. Thought it was going to be a silly movie but it turned out to be vey heartwarming. We realy enjoyed it.

Best movie

This movie is a must see for people who like a good clean funny movie. Don't know when I have laughed so much and been so amused at antics like portrayed in this movie. Will go again and buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Great Movie

Don't know why critics panned this movie. I think they forget, people go to the theater to get entertained. If I wanted to learn something, I would go to the museum or or read the Encyclopedia.

I saw this movie because the previews were funny and I wanted to laugh.

So what is not too like?

*The chemistry between Billy Crystal and Bette Midler is undeniable. I wish they would make more movies together.

*Yes it is full of the familiar cliches: busy parents with little time for their kids, setting high expectations and organizing every aspect of their children's lives -- BUT -- it is entertaining!

*You will laugh.

*And when it comes out on DVD, you will see it again.

Movies are supposed to be fun! This one certainly is so go take the family!

Loved it! It was so funny. My husband and I enjoyed it so much. It was a funny clean movie. I don't think there was a single curse word in the whole movie. A pleasant change from most movies you watch today! We could totally relate to the characters in the movie.

GREAT MOVIE!

Fantastic movie! I normally have a hard time sitting still in a movie but I was in my seat until the end of this one. Super funny! Nice family story line. Makes you think about your own marriage, parenting, and relationship with your parents as adults. Highly recommend!

Funny and heartwarming, but takes awhile to get going

The first half hour is slow. The middle is pretty good, and it really comes together well at the end. Definately worth seeing. Once Billy Crystal and the kids catch their rhythym, it really gets good. I genuinely liked the kids and the grandparents (Crystal/Middler). Marissa was disappointing.
This movie is certainly worth a few hours, on a Sunday afternoon, at the movies.
