Good, Clean, Funny Family Movie

My husband and I enjoyed the movie very much. We laughed and I cried we thought Billy Crystal and Bett Middler were perfect for this movie.

Enjoyable

This was the perfect movie to just sit back, relax, and enjoy. Best seen with a small audience so you don't miss any lines. Amusing but not hysterical. Just a pleasant 100 minutes.

Great Movie

We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to see a movie that didn't need to resort to sex and violence to keep your attention. We laughed throughout.

Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

This movie is predictable, badly acted, and has characters that you struggle to like. The little boy is a huge brat that you wish would just go away. I saw some people leave the theatre in the middle of this movie. I wanted to join them, but the family was there with me. I stuck it out to the end. Ugh.

Good movie for entertainment

Just needed a movie to watch for entertainment purposes and laughter. I got both of these in this movie. Some very funny parts and some very touching parts Critics say don't go ... but if I lived my movie watching paying attention to the critics I would have missed A LOT of really good movies.

Excellent family movie!

How can you go wrong with exceptional actors like Billy Crystal and Bette Midler? This was a terrific movie with good values and funny lines. We went with three generations and everyone enjoyed it...the youngest being 8. It even made my teenager laugh and that's virtually impossible when he's "forced" to do "lame" family activities. LOL. A GREAT movie! I would see it again.

Loved it

Belly laughed 'til I cried. Bette and Billy are a great comedy team and must do more projects together. Marisa was perfectly cast and the kids, especially the little one, were great.
Well written and and well executed. Great fun!

Great Multi-generational Movie! Perfect for co-viewing with Kids, Parents, Grandparents

?Parental Guidance? is extremely funny and enjoyable. This film kept me laughing a lot and I must admit I shed a few tears. My favorite character is Barker Simmons. He has the cutest little face with red curly hair, and cracks me up with some of the things he does. The acting is really good and believable. I can actually see this plot happening in real life - that?s how believable it is. I also like Harper Simmons as she acts very well. She is so intense with her acting and so believable with her crying scenes. I have two favorite scenes. One is when Harper has a mouthful of cake and then says to her mother, ?yogurt is not like ice cream, you lied.? The other is when Artie is at the little league baseball game with his daughter and causes trouble because there is no 3 strike game rule. A lesson in this film is to live your life, love yourself and laugh a lot. I recommend ?Parental Guidance? for ages 6 and up.

Fun family movie, but predictable

Movie was good, clean, family fun, and you will enjoy the characters. However, found it slow to warm up and story line predictable and nothing new. I expected the actors to blend better, together. Each actor was great in his or her own right, but felt forced as a team. You may prefer to save money and see at home; the big screen didn't add anything for the movie.

Great family time!

Our family of 4 saw Parental Guidance this past weekend. What fun! It is a hilarious movie, and did not contain unnecessary inappropriate language or attire. We had a blast, and laughed through the whole thing from start to finish! Movies do n ot have to be inappropriate to be funny! Do you and your family a favor and spend time to see this movie. You won't be sorry!

Decent family movie but quite predictable

Like: Family fare, no language/sex/violence, some funny spots, heartwarming, good stab at over-achieving families with psycho-babble child rearing practices! Nice message about marriage more important than kids. Good acting in general.

Dislike: Somewhat predictable story and ending. Unrealistic (just a movie, I know) to show grandparents can fix a host of their grandchildren's life problems in just about 3 days-feel good but not likely in real life.

This movie definitely fulfills its genre expectation, so if this is the type of move you enjoy, you'll likely love it...it's well done.

Cute Family Movie

Billy Crystal is very funny as Grandpa "Farty" in this movie. It's a heartwarming story of grandparents and grandchildren coming together and getting to know eachother and love eachother. It also shows us how anal and out of touch the parent generation is today with over scheduling their children and giving their children everything they want, instead of giving them TIME and love, which is all children really want and need.

I would recommend the movie and will be getting it on DVD when it comes out. : )

An absolute MUST SEE for the family

One of the best family movies of the year. I am a huge Billy Crystal fan and thought he was awesome. The movie will make you laugh, bring you to tears and make you wonder and reflect. The entire cast is fabulous as is the story line. Definite MUST SEE.

Lots of Laughs!!

One of Billy Crystal's best roles - he was made for the part. Loved the premise of old-school vs new-school as it played out in marriage, parenting, and careers (subtle statement about out times) and how each has it's strengths and weaknesses. Well done and tons of fun.
