    Sinister a disturbing wicked movie

I watched this movie looking to be scared, but mostly I was very disturbed but the plot of a demonic possession of children. That then murder there own families in service to the demon that has possessed their souls. If you like the sickest of the sick this is for you.

    amazing

if you loved The Ring, you'll love this. A very smart film that disturbs you to the core in a more subtle way. Not sure how this was fun! Time to stay awake until dawn!

    Siniser

This movie started out really good, but when you the make up on some of the characters it went down hill from there. I did not know it was rate R till my husband told me it should of been rated PG-13. Had jumpy moments strong story line just fell hard towards the end

    Worth a night out

    by MISCRO

Still had power out because of Sandy and thought it would be better to go out and see a movie in a warm, dark theater than stay in my cold dark house. Anyway in general thought it was a good movie. I'm a major horror movie fan and it definitely had a creepy vibe that I like. Didn't jump out of my seat, but may have gotten a higher pulse rate at times. Had some humor as well, even found myself laughing at times. Storyline was mostly really good. Writers had some good ideas. Certain parts seemed like they were following in the footsteps of "The Ring" which seems to still be popular to do now. Liked the gradual build up of the plot. Wasn't really thrilled with the ending, I think they chose the predictable route. I felt like at certain points there were subtle hints being left that would tell you which characters would be part of the ending, but I was wrong. Not planning on buying it when it comes out on DVD/Blue Ray, but was fun enough to see once, especially in the theaters.

    Scared the **** outta me!!!!!!

Parents take the R rating seriously!!! Im 21 and was deeply disturbed by the home video moments!!

Anyway im a hardcore horror fan and if you are to u know that we havent been given anything lately to feed our appeiate for the genre. Sinister delivers, in scares, tension, a bone chilling soundtrack, gore, the whole 9 yards. I was hiding in my jacket and had to look away most of the time. Its been so long since a movie has scared me and taken away my feeling of safety. Some of the gore was not needed at all, it was in the snuff film area for awhile but beyond that it was really good. Ten minutes in i knew i wouldnt be sleeping that night!

Go and see but dont say i didnt warn you..i got so scared i accidently kicked a shoe off.lol!

    Good Suspense

It's a graphic story line without terrible gore. My wife is the real horror fan, and she loved this movie. I liked the suspense, and thought it was well played. Ethan Hawke was very believable and for the first time in his career not a condescending *****. The rest of the cast is good too, and this movie lacked in building their characters up. It held on to obvious truths way too long and was easily predictable. Still one of the better scary movies I've seen in a long time. One last prediction... the sequel will be lame as a college professor dives into the hidden truth behind the scary figure.

    GREAT HORROR MOVIE

I was skeptical to go see this movie. I am so glad I did. I am very hard to scare and ususally get bored and leave or fall asleep. This movie kept me interested from beginning to end.

    Solid Horror Movie

    by Beckz

This movie definitely made me jump more than a few times. Although I liked the plot I didn't love it, the movie was too transparent at times. All in all its worth watching going to the theaters to watch it and I would recommend it to any horror movies fan.

The movie had a good pace and there were a lot of creepy moments. If you like creepy movies you should give this one a try.

If you are imaginative this will scare the heck out of you!

I thought it was one of the scariest films I've ever seen but I like movies that are less gory and more psychologically frightening. I loved Insidious, The Ring, and Blair Witch gave me nightmares. Maybe it is because I have 3 kids...I don't know, but I was way freaked out by this one. I have not stopped thinking about it since seeing it yesterday, most movies are over when they're over but this one has still got me on edge!. BIG time scares for me. :) The perfect Halloween movie for horror movie fans.

    A Pulse-Pounding Ride

The applicably titled movie sinister is certainly as scary as it promises; however, the film lacks a credible main character and good acting. The film features several conventional scares with various things roaring on to the screen, appearing behind the characters unexpectedly, and several very loud, gut wrenching noises. The music of the film compliments all of these very well and succeeds in creating an atmosphere of discomfort and terror. Furthermore, the shots are spectacular. It was very well directed in that regard. Although our directer seemed to overlook the elementary acting not expected from Ethan Hawke as well as the complete disregard for the climax of the plot which is totally ignored and refuted in the movie's haphazard ending. Despite these flaws, Sinister did manage to do what I hoped it would: scare me. For that reason I would recommend any horror-buff to gather some friends and buy a ticket to sinister.

    Scariest movie I've ever seen!!!

    by

Went with my girlfriend to see Sinister last night...I'm not a fan of horror movies. So usually anything scares me. She however, loves them and doesn't scare easily, but this was pretty scary for her! Needless to say, I will be sleeping with the lights on for a while! If you want a good scare, go see it!

    yawn....

We went to see this one after my wife saw a short blurb by Whoopie on The View, saying it was "scary"...that should have been my first hint. After seeing the trailer though, my wife and I thought it showed some promise. Unfortunately, the trailer contained the only few moments of the film that held any semblance of suspense or shock value! Granted, the cinetography was decent, but in the age of digital recording, editing and effects, all that means is the geek squad behind the keyboard got it somewhat right. The acting was dry, the story had holes in it a mile wide, and character developement was a joke, even for a B horror flick. Shock or scare value? Don't ask...The Muppet Movie was creepier! Overall, Sinister was highly predictable, shallow, and generally boring. Don't waste your cash...but if you still decide that you *have* to see this, wait for it to hit cable tv...in two months. I did take a lesson from this though...never, EVER see a "scary" movie endorsed by The View!

Combination of past horror movies mashup

The theater left the ambient lighting on during the movie.
    I asked for a refund.
The storyline of the movie interesting, not really scary or creepy.
It's one of those "loud abrupt creaking noises, flashes of light and faces...etc.
