Spine Tingling!!!

If you can endure a slightly slow beginning you will not be disappointed. Sinister makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, and will make the bravest person watch through a peephole in their hand. MUST SEE!!!

Based on it's creep factor, I think it was a good movie. Lots of screaming in theater. I would recommend this movie to all those who enjoy horror movies

It's Better if you didn't see the Trailer.

This movie would have been tons better if I hadn't seen the trailer before I sat down in the theater. What little 'surprise' the movie had left was ruined by the plot being so damn transparent. Save this for a rental/download/etc. It's not worth the theater time unless you just had free tickets like I did.

If you are imaginative this will scare the heck out of you!

I thought it was one of the scariest films I've ever seen but I like movies that are less gory and more psychologically frightening. I loved Insidious, The Ring, and Blair Witch gave me nightmares. Maybe it is because I have 3 kids...I don't know, but I was way freaked out by this one. I have not stopped thinking about it since seeing it yesterday, most movies are over when they're over but this one has still got me on edge!. BIG time scares for me. :) The perfect Halloween movie for horror movie fans.

Best scary in a while

This movie was one of the best scary movies I've seen in a while. It had plenty of jump out and scare you moments mixed in with general spooky, haunted scary parts. It was a lot of fun!

Sinister is Winning

Overall, Sinister was a good horror movie, which is rare these days. The ending is predictable, but at least it has a decent ending. If you don't see it in Theaters, at least see it on DVD. I promise, it will make you jump at least once.

I was so scared that I wanted to call my mom!

I am hard to impress, especially when it comes to scary movies. But Sinister is AMAZING. It's the best scary movie I've seen since The Ring. Not only is Sinister beautiful, has excellent cinematography, sets, lighting, and soundtrack, it was also very well-acted. And it was flipping SCARY. The whole theater was freaking out. The sneering teenage kids behind me got so scared that they jumped and kicked my seat. Some poor girl a couple rows ahead started whining and cried, "Holy f---!" Sinister was terrifying. Even the ending was great! Usually scary movies have stupid cheap endings. But Sinister started out great and stayed that way until the end, and had me on the edge of my seat for two delicious hours. I LOVED IT and I highly recommend it, but you might want to keep the little ones at home. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD!

I don't recommend very many horror movies...

My biggest pet peeve is a corny horror flick...I was so happy to see that this wasn't one of them!! Mr. Boogie gives me the heebie jeebies!!

We went to see this one after my wife saw a short blurb by Whoopie on The View, saying it was "scary"...that should have been my first hint. After seeing the trailer though, my wife and I thought it showed some promise. Unfortunately, the trailer contained the only few moments of the film that held any semblance of suspense or shock value! Granted, the cinetography was decent, but in the age of digital recording, editing and effects, all that means is the geek squad behind the keyboard got it somewhat right. The acting was dry, the story had holes in it a mile wide, and character developement was a joke, even for a B horror flick. Shock or scare value? Don't ask...The Muppet Movie was creepier! Overall, Sinister was highly predictable, shallow, and generally boring. Don't waste your cash...but if you still decide that you *have* to see this, wait for it to hit cable tv...in two months. I did take a lesson from this though...never, EVER see a "scary" movie endorsed by The View!

Solid Horror Movie

This movie definitely made me jump more than a few times. Although I liked the plot I didn't love it, the movie was too transparent at times. All in all its worth watching going to the theaters to watch it and I would recommend it to any horror movies fan.

there were some creepy parts to the movie but the ending seemed so rushed and like such a D class film. I rated it so so because there where some scarier parts. I guess. but honestly I think paranormal activity is scarier.

Ghoulishly Gruesome Yet Surprisingly Mundane.

This one's for the bloodthirsty with short attention spans. There's nothing especially difficult to figure out in the plot, neither is anything missed should one jump up, run out to the popcorn stand, make a phone call, check their FB status, plan a holiday, review career choices and take a nap before returning. It would be fair to say this viewer didn't especially enjoy this particular film, not necessarily attributable to the genre. Yes, yes, dozens of people worked countless hours, spending millions of dollars, all to bring us this 1hr&30min of delight. Sadly, it wasn't money well spent. You might want to wait for this on cable or DVD, or even stream. One thing's for certain, this isn't a date movie. In fact, you're likely to feel like you need a shower when it's over. It's that nasty sort of not so entertaining horror for hard core sick people. You were warned.

GREAT HORROR MOVIE

I was skeptical to go see this movie. I am so glad I did. I am very hard to scare and ususally get bored and leave or fall asleep. This movie kept me interested from beginning to end.

Oh crap its scary

Sinister, really scared me. Or either i'm just becoming a scary cat. the movie started off slow but random scenes of WTF happens, the ending could have been better but good oct. movie.
