    Made for TV Movie!?!

Sinister, was probably the best name to pick for this movie. The ads were very "sinister" in getting you to see the movie. The plot was already announced in the beginning of the movie if you catch things pretty quickly. Grant it did have scenes that the director tried so hard to make you jump but the suspense was short lived. Like a child running up to you shouting "boo" when your not aware, then realize its just a child. The writer's tried to keep you focused on a selection of characters, then tried to shock you on who the bad guy was in the end. Silly mistakes. This was a made for TV movie, if that. Save your money, even if you have free tickets, not worth the trip.

    Jump Scares

It wasn't bad... but it wasn't great either. Kinda slow but if you are a person that gets caught off guard with the jump scares. Then you will like this one.

    what a waste

    by

well what can i say without spoiling, might better wait until this movie hits the dollar theater. although there was some good laughs, nothing really happened, just a guy watching home movies, but if that scares you, then by all means, go see it

    Sinister - Save your Money!!

    by FB34

This has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Although the plot had some potential - there really was no point to this movie. Apart from the one scene - it wasn't at all scary and the whole section with the children towards the end was just plain stupid. If you are looking for a scary movie - save your money.

    Leave Before The Silly Finale

It's a pity that the finish of "Sinister" virtually undoes all the good that came before because the movie is genuinely well-acted, and has its moments of creepiness.

Note to upcoming directors: Not every ending needs to have a shock or twist. If "Sinister" were less concerned with implausible scares?when your movie is about a demon that dines on the souls of children, that's saying something?then it would have been a much stronger film.

Movie was not actually as Sinister as the trailer promised

    by

I was quite disappointed. While they did give us some cheap scares, that's really all it was. And the ending was predictable and anti-climatic. I wrote a more full length review at drunkonpop.com if you're interested.

    EDGY!

    by

This is one of those movies that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this movie to anyone. You were never ready for the next scene, it left you guessing who was behind everything going on. Ethan Hawke was terrific.

    This was scary!

    by pedsarq

I enjoy a good horror flick as much as the next guy, but I also appreciate the occasional breaks throughout the film to recover from all the loud noises and sudden scares. This movie doesn't let up! It preys on your fear for the safety of children from start to finish. There's even good dialogue, or at least well suited for the scenes, and it moves quickly between each one. If you're a horror fan, see this film. It's a cut-above the early January type horror garbage and it'll scare you.

    Spine Tingling!!!

    by Kmdc93

If you can endure a slightly slow beginning you will not be disappointed. Sinister makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end, and will make the bravest person watch through a peephole in their hand. MUST SEE!!!

So Sinister, yet sentual at the same time.

The title of this film easily emotes the splendor that one will fell inside. The worst part of this feature was the fact I had spicy food immediately before the presentation. Half way through the film I had unknowingly shot peppers into my pants. I sat through the film as the people around me shouted in horror. They were terrified. I was terrified. When the film was over, everyone ran out in anger. This film will leave you yearning for more.

    Sinister

This movie was named/titled properly, as I thought it to be SINISTER. Knew what was going to happen and was a bit frustrated with the whole I know what is going to happen next feeling, but that might have been the purpose of the director. Good movie, go and see!

    Creepy fun

    by

It was slow to start, but picked up the 'creepy' factor as it moved along. There were a few 'jump' moments, but overall this flick was pretty 'by the book'. By this, I mean, the hum-drum formula was there. Ghosts, a goul, and murders.... Meh.

If you're on a date, it's going to be fun. Otherwise don't expect much. I just wish movie makers of this genre would get more original with their materials.

It's Better if you didn't see the Trailer.

This movie would have been tons better if I hadn't seen the trailer before I sat down in the theater. What little 'surprise' the movie had left was ruined by the plot being so damn transparent. Save this for a rental/download/etc. It's not worth the theater time unless you just had free tickets like I did.
