The Zombie Genre is Not Dead

Took my 13 year old daughter to see this and we absolutely loved it. I went in expecting to see another played-out zombie flick but was pleasantly surprised to find this fresh and heartwarming. Great acting by "R". Will take my 10 year old to see it next. Well done!

    Don't take yourself so seriously

I you want reenactment of Dawn of the Dead not gonna happen and you'll be disappointed. If you don't take yourself seriously and just laugh for a while it's a lot of fun.

    Cute!

I always like a good Romeo & Juliet love story, and the fact that the main character's name is "R" or "Arrr" in zombie-speak is hilarious to me. This movie definitely had some very funny moments, the music was awesome (I will be downloading the soundtrack-very nostalgic) and again the Romeo/Juliet love plot was very sweet (tear) with a better ending.

It's a very nice date movie. I wouldn't say that it is must see, but it didn't disappoint. Thumbs up.

    Warm Bodies, warm heart

    by

Had a good time seeing Warm Bodies with my 12 year-old, but it had a couple 4 letter words if you're worried about that sort of thing with your kids. My daughter and I have an agreement to read the book before seeing the movie. The movie didn't dissappoint. The parts that were edited out from the book weren't an issue for us.

    A Go for Undead fans

    by

I recommend this flick to anyone with an undying love for the Undead. Humorously grotesque and romantically quircky, it'll make you feel compassion for the Dead unlike any other. While some may compare the main lead to that of the Twilight Saga, I have to disagree as the original concept was far from "Oh I'm a self-pittying dead person, but I'm gonna love you anyway". Incredibly witty. Definitely a go!

P.S. The book was just as good!

    Wow!

This is one of the best movies I have seen recently next to Django Unchained. Warm Bodies was an excellent movie. I am recommending it to all my friends. A very moving and emotional and well written movie. Very well done! AA++

Nice take on a zombie movie, great date flick.

He's adorable and endearing she's pretty and feisty funny moments, good date movie. Just wish they had kept the original music from the trailer. "I want to spend my life with a girl like you"......was pretty perfect.

    Surprisingly Funny

It has a better story line than I thought it would and was funnier than I thought it would be. I don't think it's the best movie ever, but I don't regret going to see it.

    ZOMBIES ARE WHAT?

    by

I GUESS IT MIGHT BE TRUE. ZOMBIES ARE HUMAN TOO. THIS MOVIE ANSWERED A LOT OF QUESTIONS I HAD ABOUT ZOMBIES AND IS FUNNY WHILE DOING IT. SO BEFORE I SHOOT THE NEXT ONE I MEET IN THE HEAD I WILL TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE ALL ABOUT.

    BEST STUFF EVA

    by

this movie might appeal to the lower brow in everyone but mostly it would to young females such as my friend virginia bailey who loves one direction and told me about this kind of stuff my ratings never stop and i must say great background music oop and one more thing i think it they should make an uncut movie with more sexual intercourse, intense violence, blood and gore along with grisly images thats what it needs and this has been josue reviews-reviews you can trust

    Funny, charming, different

    by

What's great about this story is that it has a different perspective in a "zombie apocalypse" world: from a zombie's perspective. Also, it's an unnatural, quirky love story between a human and a zombie. Also... there's an actual twist to it: there is actually an ending that'll make you smile after a zombie movie.

I've seen so many zombie movies where the ending is the same as last zombie movie. But this one is different.

This movie is great: funny, charming between the love chemistry between the hero and heroine, and quite different.

I just wish it was longer and there was more drama in the ending... otherwise, I'm going again and I'm also going to buy the movie :)

    Amazing, magical.

    by

Best movie I've seen since ROTG. Filled with action and thrill, and plenty of comedy and romance, making it a wonderful movie for all audiences. And while we're being honest, c'mon, R is globbing hot.

    Zombies Doing Shakespeare

From reading the other reviews of this movie, what I thought was an incredibly obvious homage to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (down to the balcony scene!) apparently wasn't that obvious to the rest of the audience! I really enjoyed the newest take on the Zombie genre and this movie was a great balance between the gore we've come to expect and love in Zombie movies but with en equal dose of humanity, comedy, and creepiness. Rob Corddry ads humor as R's best friend (think Zombie Mercutio) and Nicholas Hoult has just the right amount of melancholy about being a Zombie; not too or this "emo kid-zombie" would get annoying. Teresa Palmer does a nice job as Julie (Juliet) and who can say no to John Malkovich as the heart-broken, zombie hating father/general?
All in all this movie was a great date-night movie! It had just enough action, gore, love, comedy and pop-culture to keep everyone entertained! And rounding it all out with a great soundtrack, this may be a movie I end up buying!

    Quite original and fun!

I really liked the film in general. "R" character has a deep sense of humor and his inner talks are marvelous. I appreciated the writers of this movie the most for their unique handling of a zombie story although there were some instances of unnecessary cliches. All in all a good executed movie with lots of funny moments!

    Funny But Could Be Better

    by zgr024

The cast was clever, creative, and comprised some great actors, my favorite being Rob Corddry. The plot? Also creative yet it lacked something. The script was comical but the acting was either a bit off, or it wasn't geared enough towards the actors strong suits. Comedy and Zombies usually makes for a lack of a general thought process and this one tells that tale well.

All in all, it wasn't worth the $14 matinee for 2 tickets and I'd wait till it comes out on Network Television if I had the foresight.
