What a very perfectly happy ending!!

I was a little nervous at the beginning of the movie, but it captured my heart. It was a beautiful story and exceptionally well acted and written. I am a huge fan! So sad that this was booted out of the big theaters for many more boring and depressing movies! I love it!!

Too much of a relationship movie

I thought maybe there would be a better family story but so much about two people. disappointing. I can't beleive it is a nomination for best picture. Nothing new here. Same old relationship movie. .

    Feel Good Quirky Film

My wife and I saw this last night. We like movies with a little more edge and little more of an indie vibe and this looked like it would be that. It was worth the trip. We left the movie saying we would definitely recommend it to others. It had a few moments where it shifted a little too abruptly and you had to leave your sense of reality at the door. But overall it was easy to care about these dysfunctional characters. Great acting by Cooper, Lawrence and DeNiro.

    Very Entertaining Romantic Comedy

This movie was very entertaining. I found myself laughing out-loud many times. Bradley Cooper has made a great transition from his silver screen days on Alias to the big screen. This movies shows that he can play something other than than the college have fun role he assumes in The Hangover series. He totally gets into character as a post diagnosis bipolar trying to get his act together and resume a normal life. If you are an Eagles fan, there are so many Eagles (& rival) references that you can't help but think if it's a subplot. No spoilers here, but I will say that the acting was great by everyone. This movie is not for young teens, it deals with a lot of adult topics, although there is inappropriate visual content the themes are little old for younger teens.

    Oscar worthy?

    by

I love Jennifer but the movie just didn't do it or me. I had a hard time liking any of the characters...and I will admit I don't understand the mental illnesses that these people are suffering, so maybe that is why I was at a loss to understand the movie.

My fav of all the academy nominees I've seen so far

Good story. Good acting. About possible real people experiencing possible real life. The principals are endearing. DeNiro is great. Sweet, funny, gritty, poignant, hopefull. Best part for me was that movie was written and presented by people who liked their characters- flaws, warts, wrinkles and all. Loved this movie. Well conceived. Well written. Well directed and produced. VERY well acted!

    Jennifer: BRILLIANT

    by

Bradley Cooper's portrayal of a mentally ill adult is so very real. Once Jennifer Lawrence's character walked on scene I was hooked. She was absolutely BRILLIANT. So very true to the character, very believable. honest.

The best movie of the year and Bradley cooper deserved the oscar

This is THE best movie of the year full of heart, comedy, joy, sadness -- everything you could possibly want in a movie -- great oscar nominated cast. Bradley cooper gives such a heart wrenching, comedic and touching performance -- just look at his line delivery -- in which one minute he is angry and the next minute he is so happy. Such a well made movie and a must see.

    Silver Linings Playbook

    by clbv1

Until today I had not even heard about this movie. We wanted to go see something so I was reading reviews. I'm so glad I did because this was a wonderful movie to see on a cold Ohio Sunday afternoon. The characters were engaging and more than a little crazy. I left feeling good and that doesn't happen at the movies very often.

I'd have been happy to see it on DVD

    by mflury

Good acting...I'm sure it's hard to act crazy! LOL! Not really what I thought it was going to be, and it was OK, funny, sentimental, and quirky. I'd say wait for the DVD.

    Hmm!

This is an odd but intriguing little movie. The dysfunction of the central family is a bit exaggerated, but understandably compressed to a fever pitch sometimes because of time constraints. The acting is superb and Jennifer Lawrence's facial expressions are a study in itself. See if you don't think Pat's Mom looks a lot like Gloria from "All in the Family".

GREAT MOVIE... This one kept my interest throughout the movie. One of the few movies this year that makes you "feel good" after watching it. Good acting and story line.

    Very Good

I went to see it cause I thought it was one of those corny romantic movies which goes well with the wife on V-day, but it actually turned out to be well balanced. It wasn't too cheesy or corny...it felt just right. Both Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence we're very good in it as well as the rest of the cast.

    Good for the Soul

This isn't your normal story of an underdog. David O. Russell does an amazing job creating characters with immense depth. There are many messages in this movie about love, dedication, morals and more. If you are looking for a movie that will capture your attention and intrigue your soul, this is it!
