    Silver Linings

Excellent movie and I'm so glad I saw it. It has all of the parts of living with and dealing with the ups and downs of a manic-depressive loved one. It made me feel a little frightened with the explosive events, sad with what his mom was going through and crying when he had a break through at the end. It's a very difficult life. The actors were brillant. Hope they will acadamy awars.

    Excellent Movie

    by janicjo

This was an excellent movie and a worthy contender for the Best Movie award (although I've other favorites). Even though the ending is somewhat of a forgone conclusion the journey getting there is simultaneously both painful and funny...just like reallife. Extremely well acted by all involved, particularily Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

    Silver Linings Playbook

My wife and I really enjoyed this movie. The acting was first rate and the interaction between the parents and their bi polar son was so authentic. Hope it receives many Oscars.

    Great movie!

My wife looked at me liked I'd picked a loser during the first 20 minutes. Meanwhile the story and the characters pulled you in with an amazing and entertaining ensemble performance. Ended up being more like a Rocky or Rudy with a heavy dose of romance. Great date movie. And great for movie buffs to see award-worthy performances from Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and RObert Deniro.

    Silver Linings Playbook

This was The Best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I absolutely LOVED it! It made me cry (alot) laugh (alot) and totally get in to the characters. Cooper, Lawrence and DeNiro totally deserving of Oscar nominations and Lawrence 110% deserving of her Oscar. I highly recommend this movie. I would see it again! (didn't scratch my head though)

    Funny, moving and beautifully acted

    by 212toni

Silver Linings Playbook is moving, perceptive, not too sentimental or slapstick, well edited, unexpected, laugh-out-loud, heartbreaking and true. Lots of opportunies to go off the tracks here, but miraculously, it never happens. Go and have a wonderful time!

    A VERY Long Two Hours

Not sure what all the fuss is about this?!?! If you like people yelling at each other a lot and then running around the neighborhood, then this is your film. Me, not so much. The characters are all unlikeable, the story not plausible. And to boot it make both my friend and I motion sick due to the tight close-ups and hand held camera style of filming. I say PASS!

    Pleasantly Surprised

    by

I rarely go to what are considered romantic comedies but this movie came as a very pleasant surprise. The acting was superb and I now understand why it was Oscar-worthy. It paints a picture of normal people who have been pushed to the edge by circumstance and their journeys in life to continue on. Thought provoking and encouraging. Must see.

    A tour de force

    by jr_107

Exceptional movie. it is a Tour De Force of unstoppable humanity in the face of emotional defeat. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence provide over the top performances and their chemistry is pure hot fusion. Bradley Cooper's portrayal of Pat Solatano is pure genius - he is that guy -- a bi-polar obsessive compulsive who just got out of a mental institution and is intent on getting his life back. Jennifer Lawrence is his mirror opposite and when the two get together for unfiltered conversation -- it moves you to a depth very rarely ever achieved in cinema. You have got to see this Movie!!!

    Silver linings play book

Went to see this with my hubby...since football is a running theme in the movie he was interested. The movie was funny and I enjoyed the acting however way too many f bombs for me. (even my husband commented on that). Outside of that it was funny and I would recommend to go see it if you can deal with the cursing....my husband did say it was a good chick flick.

    Silver Linings Playbook

I didn't realize how excellent this film was until I seen it. This is one of the best films of the year and I usually doesn't say that about any film now days. Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert DeNiro, & Chris Tucker all gave excellent performance. I expect a best picture nomination & at least a Best Actor nomination from Bradley Cooper.

    You simply cannot miss this!

Bradley Cooper lost himself in his character, Pat. I spent half the movie broken-hearted because Pat tried so hard to show everyone he had changed. By the end, I was happy Pat finally saw the changes he'd made had prepared him for a better life--not the one he was trying so desperately to regain.

Also, when Jennifer Lawrence as Tiffany, reads DeNiro the riot act, I don't think there is anyone else who could have held her own against him.

I loved this movie because it is a love story. Pat learns to love himself, and Tiffany learns she can be loved, and not even Nicholas Sparks could write something so beautiful and honest.

I laughed and cried, and I would go back to see it in a heartbeat.

    different, thought provoking

loved this flick. I'm not so sure mental health experts would agree on the portrait it paints of recovery from mental illness, but for me it was wonderful.

I want to see it AGAIN!

This is the best movie I've seen in YEARS. I enjoyed every single second of it from beginning to end. I turned to my friend every 20 minutes or so to say "I love this movie".
The character studies were absolutely wonderful. The cast was perfect, the acting was perfect and story was so BEAUTIFUL.
Matthew Quick has an awesome mind to have given life to this.
