Silver Linings Playbook - real people, problems and success
I was just so happy to see real people working out painful life situations in Silver Linings Playbook and coming through them in their own way. The houses they live in, the problems they face and the oddities of their lives rang true in a way that most films don't. In their imperfections, these characters won my heart and I recognized the hint of insanity in all of us as I watched them explode on the scene in a poignant, sometimes frightening display of deep emotions, mood swings, desire, dashed dreams and rebuilt lives. I was excited about the way this family was whole and beautiful in the middle of their crisis, the joy they took in a crab snack, football, a Sunday dinner with Mom's bracciole and Dad's lucky handkerchief. Yes, it's all looney, but I am sick to death of seeing homes where only the 1% live, places working class people may visit, but never own. Silver Linings Playbook invites you into the living room where broken people face themselves and find strength in each other.
