    Not too bad, but...

    by felix88

It's hard to imgine the North Koreans pushing such a large and complex operation. Overall I still am a big fan of the origianl Red Dawn! Opps! Did I just date myself!

    Go WOLVERINES

So I enjoyed the movie and it was nice that they did change up the story line. I guess I dont want to see the same movie updated. So that was great, But the acting with some was just so-so. They could have done better picking out people to portray the characters.

    Great Movie

It was a great movie overall. It was a little shorter than what I like for a movie but that lead to no boring parts at all. It was inspirational with a great story and great actors. Very action-packed with a twist that i didn't see coming at all. Great movie that'd I'd see again and recommend to everyone.

    Was a surprise

    by Hawke

We saw the original Red Dawn and thought this would be worth the time. I read a review before going which didn't give a lot of praise. Since we already paid for the tickets, we obviously went and were pleasantly surprised. Due to this being made in contemporary times the show was much more realistic. This is a GO.

    Timely remake

    by jamato

Took the whole family and everyone enjoyed the movie.
Realized the only thing keeping our enemies from attacking our shores is the hundreds of millions of guns owned by our civilian/militia.
I could see why the critics hated it, they are all liberals who hate guns.
    Semper Fi.

    Just Enough of a Twist

Enjoyed the show. There was just enough of a twist that it was enjoyable to watch. Definitely feel like they were setting it up for a sequel!

    Why?

    by usnjohn

I knew this movie was going to be horrible but we all make poor choices now & again. It had no real story line, a lot of crap didn't make sense, no character development, lots of questions unanswered, no explanations to why certain things were the way they were. And the filming itself throughout was awful and I found myself having a difficult time seeing what the heck was going on on many occasions. The Koreans didn't even seem like much of a threat to the point it was getting annoying. I know this is just a movie but I think too many things were just too unrealistic to where it made me frustrated. This movie is more for teenagers in high school who fantasize that they will be able to pick up a 240 Bravo and unload it at full auto on some communists or terrorists like they do in Call of Duty with ease. Yeah its a movie and it is a remake but the fact for it being another remake of another classic movie should be obvious it will suck. I left the theater with my buddy asking why?

EPIC MOVIE! GET YOUR A** TO A THEATER NOW!

I hadn't seen the original but this film was amazing! So many plot twists and such a great story line. The acting was very good (especially josh hutcherson and mr. hemsworth ;)). I have nothing bad to say except I wish it was longer!!!!!

    Did not suck!

Red Dawn did NOT suck. They kept the spirit of the original and modernized it. It's still not better than the original but it came close and I liked it a lot even with the changes they made, there are little things from the original that you'll see. Oh, get this kiddies, it's WAY OPEN for a sequel. I think they want to do that so we can see what happens after the conclusion of the original. BTW, "The chair is against the wall"

    Not bad for a remake

I was concerned, because I loved the original! Although, I hated that the female characters were really effing weird in the original.

As for the new version - I really liked it, and my boys (14 and 11) loved it! Some of the things I wished had happened in the original were actually done with the newer version (like stronger, less oddball characters). It's definitely a good update!

Red Dawn: A Fight for Survival

Starring Chris Hemsworth as an active duty Marine turned renegade leader leading a band of rebels against a communist regime. From its introductory note, Red Dawn seems promising combining economic turmoil and wartime political issues in cinematic fashion. Red Dawn delivers a satisfying movie experience for those with a taste for rebellion. Chris Hemsworth plays a wartime hero returning home only to face the threat of a communist takeover by North Korea in little town America. On the run from a foreign legion with limited munitions and a group of hormonally unbalanced teens, Chris Hemsworth decides to tap into his warrior spirit and combat a foreign invasion. It's a film which showcases the ills of war while weaving an intricate storyline filled with failed romances, giant explosions, and guns blazing.

    Red Dawn

I don't even know why this remake was made. This movie was just terrible. From the lack of character building, the lukewarm plot, and the horrible ending speech. If I wasn't waiting on my meal, since I saw this at fork & dine in Grapevine, I would have walked out. Moreover, come on Hollywood, there are too many great upcoming writers out here. Please, give them a chance, so that the American people can see fresh, new exciting movies again.

    "War is ugly"

Overall this was a fun movie that you could take your kids to, but in my oppinion thats not what a war movie about being invaded on our own soil should be. I get that this is a remake, but they couldv'e taken this new script as an opportunity to really get intense with the building up of the characters (so you actually care about them), and the action itself. Its just a little more unbeleivable when youre watching a war take place where everyone is pretty, and dies without actually bleeding. Im not saying I wanted it to be like Saving Private Ryan, but it needed more grit and realism. For a subject that isn't all that unbeleivable they certainly made it seem as tho it was. That being said: it was still a fun movie.

    Surprisingly Good Remake

This was a good remake with new people and of course the action. I agree with a couple of other comments made. It was sort of a rush through the movie. It didn't give the viewer much time to get the players. Had a different ending than the original movie. Good acting and directing. I don't know if Red Dawn 2 could come about and start where it left off but it's possible. I think if I was a producer I would consider it.

From this movie and the original a viewer should come out and even though this could never happen. Patriotism should be reenergized, which is something is sadly missing with most Americans.
