    Great Movie

It was a great movie overall. It was a little shorter than what I like for a movie but that lead to no boring parts at all. It was inspirational with a great story and great actors. Very action-packed with a twist that i didn't see coming at all. Great movie that'd I'd see again and recommend to everyone.

It was actually a good movie

So I wasn't expecting much when I went to see the remake of Red Dawn... but I was pleasantly surprised. While the threat of a North Korean invasion seemed a bit out there the action scenes and feeling of impending doom felt tangible. Overall, it was a good movie!

    Red Dawn, the remake.

I loved the original movie and own a copy of it but my wife was bored with it. This remake is soooooo much better! my wife even loved it. I love what they did with the story line. The only issue that I have with the movie is that it has way to much swearing in it. That wasn't needed to make this movie a good movie. Beware of the "F" word.

    A So-So recommendation is generous

This movie is, at best, okay. Mildly entertaining. The characters have no personalities, and the actors are dull. The action mostly seems to take place on the same block, every single time. Loved the original Red Dawn; this is a bland imitation.

The war makes even less sense than the one in the original did--which is hard to do.

Not Worthy of The Original's Title...Basically One Step Up From a TV Movie.

Lots of potential in this cast but it was thoroughly wasted on a BAD screenplay adaptation of one of the best action scenarios of the 1980s. The testament to this truth is about as far away as Netflix or your local video source. The value of the original is not threatened or diminished by this remake, neither is the remake itself anachronistic, since this flavor?s been finely sliced and diced, politically corrected and delivered like pabulum for the "Scott Pilgrim" generation's violence diet. They should be righteously insulted by such condescension and pandering. Not much else to say here except next time they bring all this fine young talent together, how about giving them respect by providing them decent material? They're up to it and so is their audience. If you like the faces see this for a discount if you can. It's a stretch at ten bucks a seat.

    Not What I Expected

    by

This was kind of a silly movie. The plot was not really that developed or believable. The idea that the North Korean military could successfully invade & occupy most of the United States is ridiculous. I would really like to see the North Koreans try to invade a state like Texas lol The plot never explains how all these Korean military units got into the US - except saying that an EMP & nuclear missile launch disrupted the "entire" infrastructure. It came across as a "B" rated movie with so-so acting & "cheesy" lines. I suppose if you're not expecting a somewhat plausible plot, this movie wouldn't be too bad. I found myself laughing most of the time - which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Red Dawn: A Fight for Survival

Starring Chris Hemsworth as an active duty Marine turned renegade leader leading a band of rebels against a communist regime. From its introductory note, Red Dawn seems promising combining economic turmoil and wartime political issues in cinematic fashion. Red Dawn delivers a satisfying movie experience for those with a taste for rebellion. Chris Hemsworth plays a wartime hero returning home only to face the threat of a communist takeover by North Korea in little town America. On the run from a foreign legion with limited munitions and a group of hormonally unbalanced teens, Chris Hemsworth decides to tap into his warrior spirit and combat a foreign invasion. It's a film which showcases the ills of war while weaving an intricate storyline filled with failed romances, giant explosions, and guns blazing.

rather have seen it on dvd

I read all the reviews before seeing it and they all compared it to the original, so I tried to watch it without comparing. It was still bad and it doesn't even compare. It was cheesy and they did all this work at the end which didn't even seem to fit with the rest of the movie. No acting, no emotion but somewhat entertaining.

OH NO MR BILL, don't waste your mony or time

North Korea (smaller than Florida and total population about 125% that of Florida) invades and wipes out the entire US military in one day. Local teens are the only ones left to defend the entire civilized world with deer rifles and shot guns. Not much dialogue, poor acting but lots of bangs and booms. The screens writers must have been really bombed, LOL.

    Not Happy

Should have never done a remake of this classic. Bad acting and b list actors make this a waste of your time and money. If you have to see this wait for DVD. Rating 3 out of 10.

    Pretty Good

It's a pretty good movie. The idea of the US being invaded and it's citizens having to defend it is scary but makes for a good story. Plenty of loopholes and some things weren't explained. The original is still a classic and still my favorite but this one isn't so bad and it's worth watching.

    Awesome Movie!

    by rdahljr

This movie was awesome. For all the reviewers who thought this movie was crap, don't listen to them and go see it. For all those reviewers that don't like this movie due to some new type of liberalism, they must be either communists or un patriotic Americans. Don't be afraid of seeing this movie and rejoicing in your American patriotism.
Bottom line: suspend disbelief and enjoy this movie!! Opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one and those who don't like my review, I seriously think you need to revisit what it means to be a citizen of the United States and pull your head out of your a**!

Gives the original a run for its money

    by

This was a very good movie, with really great acting. I was a bit concerned with some of the cast (Connor Cruise) but he earned his way in and did an amazing job as did the rest of the cast.

    very absorbing

We watched the remake of red dawn yesterday, did not realize that that time went by. A little different from the original, but worth the money.
