I loved this movie!! Full of suspense! Tom Hardy did a great job with his character as well as Shia LaBeouf! I would recommend seeing this!!

Academy Award Material for almost all the stars. This movie was great and it was a true story, which I like. After this movie I definetly want to learn more about these guys, and the 30's do seem like an interesting time. I loved the plot and the scenery of West Virgina was beautiful, despite the violence that took place but that's what was what the plot was about and it was never too gory, they showed enough to make it real. I would nominate Shia Lebeauf as Best Actor and Tom Hardy and Guy Pierce for Best Supporting Actor. This is for people who the read the book, and the people who want to see a good drama and action fans, but take my word for it, see it for yourselves.

We knew it was going to be good...

...we just didn't know HOW good it was going to be. A great story, well told and brilliantly acted. Not for the squeemish or faint at heart. But if you can get past a few really graphic parts you won't be sorry you went.

POWERFUL AND TOM HARDY THE NEW HEARTHROB!!

Great film and based on a true story, about 3 brothers who ran a moonshine business out of Virginia during Prohibition. Refusing to start paying off the corrupt offiicials who come in from Chicago, the film is graphically violent, unsettling, powerful and a must see. Great action and camera work, a substantive, yet subtle story of brotherly relationships, a love interest thrown in (the great Jessica Chastain) and all around riveting movie for a Saturday night!

True Story

I really like this one because it was a true story about bootleggers, mob and law. Good performances by Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy. It little love and romance and some violence with home made whiskey in the mix leave this one shy of an award. Go see it

Very Good Movie

This was intense 2hr movie but very interesting& different from all the others out there . Love that it was based on true story. Acting was superb! Not for the faint at heart as there is good amount of violence /blood . I loved it!

Great movie!

Didn't really know what to expect going into this movie. I'm a huge fan of Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf so I decided to give it a shot. I wasn't disapointed! This movie has everything I love: action, believable characters, and a good plot. Worth a watch!

Lawless is not great but very good

Worth the trip for the fine performance by Tom Hardy. Some characters felt a little distant but as it is based on a true story I felt it was worth my time and money. Though it did make me want to read the book!

On the edge of my seat

I didn't expect Lawless to be a thriller but found myself instantly attached to the characters and on the edge of my seat the whole movie. It certainly helps to know that the movie is based on true events. I've already recommended this movie to my friends.

Lawless is a film that you're either going to relish about, or going to completely shut out. I say this because, the movie is not fast paced, nor does it have a lot of action, and in today's society that is what most people want when they see films on the big screen. If you like action packed movies, this is not down your ally, and should probably check out Expendables 2, which I have not seen yet? I enjoyed the hell out of this film and defiantly will see this movie again some time in the near future. I was atonished by how the movie looked, the set pieces were right on point with the western feel. Good make-up effects for the bloody and beaten faces that most all characters went through in the film. With amazing acting, and great character development, Lawless ends up being worth the full price admission. Back to the question, does Shia LeBeouf finally grow up in this film? "Yes, he certainly becomes a man in Lawless," which i'm very glad to see.

It's a very good movie. If you don't like blood and violence though skip it. But a great movie about family bonds and protecting your brothers.

Lawless was a good movie to see, I would recommend it to my friend, no kids, too much violence actually not as much as in Popeye movies.
