    Waste of time

    by

I love Steve Carrell and usually enjoy Jim Carrey movies. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There were only two points in the movie where I may have laughed, but nothing more than a snicker. The only truly good thing during this movie was the popcorn and drink that cost more than the movie ticket itself.

Great to rent and watch at home

    by Shiva27

I liked this movie a lot because I am a fan of many of the people in it, and their humor always brings me up. But it's better for a stay at home and spend 1.50 to watch on your couch type of night.

    The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Don't waste your time and bucks on this movie. It's an insult to the otherwise fine cast, who could only do so much with the awful script and story. Pass this one up.

Better than I thought it'd be

I had no expectations that this would be good. But it caught me off guard as being better than I thought it would be. Steve Buscemi, while still being an amazing actor is also still the most awkward guy in Hollywood. Steve Carrell was good. Jim Carrey... I know what your role was about - but I easily could have lived without you in the movie

    Burt Wonderston Now

    by

Best comedy I've seen in years. The trailer did not spoil it for me, because this movie was packed with the good bits. It was nice to see Steve C play a new character. Jim Carey was superb as the nutcase adversary. This movie is not for the little kids. PG 13 means PG 13.
The group that crafted this movie really knows what their doing!

Has its moments, but could be better

Although the critics aren't wild about this movie, I was looking forward to seeing a comedy with Steve Carrell, Steve Buscemi, and Jim Carrey. The critics are right. The movie has its spots of humor, but not often enough. Buscemi is out of character as the caring, sensitive half of a magical act with Carrell. I wanted to see the crazy Buscemi. Jim Carrey is the star of the movie IMO. His crazed portrayal of "mind freak" magicians is very funny. It's the old Jim Carrey which I enjoyed so much in Ace Ventura movies. This movie is worth seeing when it comes out on cable in a few months, but not worth a trip to the cinema to see it.

    Wonderfully Magical

    by riograd

The characters were played better than I thought it was going to be done. I found myself waiting for the next trick. It brought me back to my childhood with my first magic set. The tricks were not cheesy and like a little kid watching a magic show, the movie actually did a great job keeping my attention the whole way through.

Then end surprised me how well it all came together. they could have gone in many directions but I can't imagine a better ending (without spoiling it of course) I walked away feeling great. I may have actually enjoyed this movie a little better than the average movie goer just because I did spend a huge portion of my childhood with many magic acts that I did myself. But also take it as a person who grew up with it, the movie was magical to me.

It earned my money for admission
it took my away to another place for a wonderful story.
what more can you ask for?

Incredible, in that anyone in this day and age could make a movie that's this bad! Worst movie I've seen in a long time. Save your money. It will be on TV next week if they can find a network to show it.

Kitschy movie about a fun topic - funny moments and some depressing moments... , overall I think it will be a staple go to movie for a rainy day.

    The Incredible Burt Wonderstone Review

    by

This movie is hilarious and great! Although I wasn't a huge fan of the beginning when Burt was a little kid, the rest was great, especially the end. Don't want to ruin it! The acting was very good, and the cinematography was also great. The writing was also pretty good; however, it's one of those that you may like or not. I enjoyed it. I recommend this for teens and adults. This is one of those comedy movies that you may like or not. If you aren't sure, just wait to rent it or buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray.

    Eh... that happened.

    by talonb

This movie was OK. Good performances but the movie itself was just so so. It wasn't terrible... I laughed. But I also won't be quoting this movie for years to come. It was kind of like eating a plain water cracker... I know I put something in my mouth but I wont' remember that I did it 2 days later.

    Burt Wonderstone

This movie was sooo boring. At times it felt like the lead actors filmed their scenes on different days....ok, this is what's happening...now, react...except they didn't react. The 'hot box' scene could have been very funny, but wasn't. I found myself laughing just because it felt weird not laughing at a comedy. I have to admit I laughed my *** off at one point...at the very end, I mean seconds before the credits, when they showed how they pulled off the "grand illusion". I was so looking forward to seeing this movie too. The only thing enjoyable, for me, was Olivia Wilde. The comedic talent was just wasted on this movie. Such a shame too.

    Benefit of doubt

I love Jim Carrey and Steve . I will say that I was tired and that the theatre was empty because I saw it Thursday night in a mature white area. Which means nobody was in there and so the energy was down. I did however enjoy the movie a lot but I was too damn tired to laugh. I knew I should have waited until friday. I keep doing it to myself though.

    Funny flick!

If you want to go out and have a laugh or two, you could do much worse than seeing "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.". I went on a Saturday afternoon and I really enjoyed the flick. You have a pair who have been doing magic for 10 years, but they soon become old and a new guy comes into fold and tries to take their fame away. They will battle it out, and learn some new tricks in order to bring the audience back to them. Who will win? When you are in Vegas, everyone is up against one another and will do everything they can to top one another and be the main man. Go check it out, it was a funny movie and the critics are wrong. It is not the best movie, but it was worth the money.
