Little Gem
Took my 9 year old grandson to see it and we loved it. It is a real gem as far as being visually well done and getting it's message across. At dinner, after the movie, I asked my grandson what the movie was trying to say and he said " I think it was trying to say that everybody is different and we shouldn't be mean to people who are. " Which of course is what the movie was trying to say. So then I asked him why and he said "well, they're people too, nanny!"
There was no swearing in the movie but there were a couple of places that were too scary for small children. And of course it deals with death ,which unless you have explained real death to a child, he/she will be frightened by this movie, not understanding that it is pure fantasy. But for children 9 and over, it's a good movie.
