    Why the Hype ?

I've seen thousands of movies in my life-and while this movie has two of my favorite
actors in it- Joseph Gordon-Levitt was much more enjoyable to watch than Bruce Willis was.
Don't get me wrong, Bruce is one of my all-time favorite actors, but this movie was a messy mess that was hard to follow, and left me wanting more. To watch the scenes with Pierce Gagnon was almost unbearable mostly because of what he will endure for years in therapy. I suppose that while it got a 90+% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes says a lot. I went to see it expecting academy award performances based on the reviews and word of mouth. JGL nailed his "character" in a astonishing manner, but was still wooden and stiff at the same time. I must disagree with most of the public- Mostly Looper was loopy.

the movie ticket taker said looper was like "inception"

It's nothing like inception! This is a great sci fi movie that keeps your attention for the whole duration. Loved the little details like the mazda miata! I would give it two thumbs up.

    Looper is a MUST SEE!

Looper was fantastic! Rian Johnson strikes again! Joseph Gordon Levitt is brilliant as the younger version of Bruce Willis, and Bruce Willis is just awesome! Go see this movie. I'm dying to see it again! It was also very fun to see Joe working with Noah Segan and Jeff Daniels again!

    Looper

This is why I don't go to the theater. This is whats wrong with Hollywood. This movie has the same concept as any other film in the past. This is basically "Bourne Identity" with time travel.
We need some new stories to make some new movies. Everything is too predictable now a days.

We really liked this movie. It was creative and clever and made you think. Acting was believable. Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a great job mimicking Bruce Willis' facial expressions and mannerisms. It was a fun ride of a movie.

    Looper

Very good movie. Nothing but the best from Bruce. There's a bit of confusion in a couple of parts, but who cares, the movie is good. Time travel, judgement calls, action, can't beat it.

    Looper quick review.

    by

Its a fantastic take on the time travel genre, great directing and really good performances. Joseph Gorden-Levit did not crumble under the weight of being the protagonist and even outshines Bruce Willis at times. No bigger praise is to Rian Johnson, the director, who weaves the story delicately with out losing the audience, since time travel movies tend to have infinite possibilities, Johnson tightens that up quickly and efficiently. The film can make you angry when it want you to be, and make your tear up seconds after, in a good way, is a sigh o great film making. Any fan of films in genre should not miss this, go see it!

Rian Johnson has done it yet again...

I'm usually a pretty quiet person while watching a movie. While Watching Looper, I found myself exclaiming an expletive before I could stop myself. This is another one you'll want to see again just to wrap your head around everything. It pulls at your heart and mind much more than you'd expect - and you'll love every second of it.

Won't hurt to wait for the DVD

    by

The movie was good, don't get me wrong, but I felt like the whole time travel thing followed enough rules to make it convenient for the movie. And there were a few other questions that I had leaving the theatre as well (which might easily be answered if I watch it again).

All in all, it's worth seeing, but since I get to the movies rarely, I would have rather waited for this on DVD and watched something else.

    Riveting Story Line

I really enjoyed "Looper"! It made you want to listen carefully to all the dialogue in order to keep up with the intricacies and complications of Time Travel. Beware of the violence, though... It's like Good Fellas meets The Terminator meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The actor who played "Sid", the five-year old boy, was astonishing. At first, Emily Blunt was unrecognizable as a blonde. I thought to myself, "She looks just like Emily Blunt!" And it was her after all. Great movie...If you don't catch it in the theatre, certainly see it on BluRay.

    ...meh...

    by tusseyd

So so....interesting plot and nice acting (Bruce Willis still can excite), but none of the characters are really worth caring about. The deus ex machina ending/climax was a bit much and not very engaging. My recommendation -- wait for it on DvD/OnDemand.

    An amazing, original movie!

Looper was fantastic. It was a great action movie with awesome dialogue. What I loved the most, was the idea and how they arranged the script. All totally original, imo.

Joseph Gordon Levitt was great, as usual, and Emily Blunt did very well.

This is a must-see movie, preferably in theaters, but still awesome at home. I will definitely be buying this on Blu!

That one movie that leaves you feeling some kind of way. . .

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!! I personally wouldn't call it action as there wasn't an abundant amount but just enough. This is an interesting story with a very unexpected lead in. I was blown away by the kid in thid film who was simply magnificent. Joseph is making a name for himself and I don't blame him. I love how they made him resemble Bruce WIllis, it was so freaky good and Mr. Willis himself never disappoints. He was vulnerable in this film and I loved that about him. This is what sci-fi is all about. A story line that is completely different, interesting and engaging. This is the kind of film we needed this year. Bravo to the entire cast, everyone did an excellent job but mainly the kid stole the show. . .if you are wondering what kid? just go see it and you will find out.

    No.

Bruce Willis character murders a child. No. If you have seen 12 monkey's, the name looper of the film says it all. Disappointed, not very thought through.
