    Well thought out

I like that the movie is multi dimensional and the acting and make up are great. Some nudity I could have done without but its done with class.

    one of 2012's best movies...

    by

If Looper were not to top this weekend's box office and loose to Hotel Transylvannia, it'd only because of the fact that Looper is rated R (audience is restricted to adults) while Hotel Transylvania is rated PG (adding kids for audience helps a lot). Otherwise, if we were to judge by quality, Looper is the more enjoyable movie. Logic aside, Looper keeps the audience on their seats wondering what to expect next. the plot is not predictable and the story is imaginative. But it doesn't stop at the imagination. Looper has everything: there are loads of action, sci-fi, humor, suspense, and yet not lacking emotion and morals. Not to mention a pack of hot-looking casts...definitely one movie you don't want to miss, and won't feel bad spending about 2 hours of your life watching it...

    Looper Review

Really imaginative plot, carried out by excellent performances from lead actors. A sequel would be interesting, based upon how the future would be changed as a result of correcting "the Rainmaker's" original life trauma.

    Pretty cool

This movie messes with your mind in the best possible way. The super-imposing of Bruce Willis's features onto JGL's face was -really- awesome. I loved the movie, but it's not amazing or anything. My boyfriend doesn't really know if he liked it or not because "it was so weird", so some may leave the theater feeling the same way.. but I would still recommend this to friends if they like sci-fi movies.

    Left with a Headache

The trailers looked great but by the end of the movie I had a headache from thinking to hard! This movie is the most confusing movie I have ever seen. I couldn't keep up with if you were in the future or in the past and who was who whenever they saw the person they were suppose to kill. Just all around horrible movie!

The best movie of 2012 so far

Go in knowing as little as possible and you will be handsomely rewarded. Nothing this original has been seen on the silver screen since Inception, and Bruce Willis hasn't been this good in years. If you miss it, you'll regret it.

    Looper quick review.

    by

Its a fantastic take on the time travel genre, great directing and really good performances. Joseph Gorden-Levit did not crumble under the weight of being the protagonist and even outshines Bruce Willis at times. No bigger praise is to Rian Johnson, the director, who weaves the story delicately with out losing the audience, since time travel movies tend to have infinite possibilities, Johnson tightens that up quickly and efficiently. The film can make you angry when it want you to be, and make your tear up seconds after, in a good way, is a sigh o great film making. Any fan of films in genre should not miss this, go see it!

    Smart time travel thriller

    by jhs39

Smart time travel thriller is more smart than exciting, much like Christopher Nolan films such as The Prestige and Memento. This is definitely worth seeing but don't expect edge of your seat thrills and an abundance of action.

    Classic Sci-Fi

This thought-provoking sci-fi thriller draws us into the subtle and fascinating machinations of a future organized crime syndicate. The script is in the literary tradition of sci-fi greats such as Asimov, Clarke, and Heinlein. The time-travel plot device serves the story without feeling gimmicky, while the characters' motivations genuinely pull us along to the unexpected conclusion. Graphic violence.

Would you want a job being a Looper?

I'm finally getting around to writing a review of "Looper." Sorry about that. In any case, I quite enjoyed "getting into" this film, once it started. A co-worker stated that it moved too slowly for him. For me, however, I enjoyed the thoughtful, quiet moments; it offers the characters time to contemplate. Simply stated is that, I liked this movie. To be fair, I did get lost within portions, but I understand how the Gordon-Levitt character (young Joe) came to his conclusion in the end. A strange, but interesting movie.

    More than just killing time

    by

Sci-Fi fans have been looking forward to this movie since April, when Rian John talked about this movie at Wondercon. It is all that and more.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has building his reputation as an up and coming leading man in this movie about a hit-man named Joe who kills people from the future and has quite a life. However, when he has to kill his future self, that's when things get complicated. Add the fact that the future self wants to kill someone who will grow up and kill Loopers, and you have an intriguing movie about time travel and destiny.

Big kudos to Bruce Willis as the future Joe, Emily Blunt as a farm girl caught in the crossfire, and Pierce Gagnon as a little kid who makes a big impact. Check this out, guys

    You won't see them coming!

So unpredictable! Early in the movie I began to prepare myself for disappointment, thinking it would turn out to be a dud. I was so wrong! Later in the movie, I was on the edge of my seat. The thrills and twists caught me so off guard. I definitely was not disappointed.

Overall the directing could have been better to get the maximum potential out of this movie, but it still was well worth seeing. Here is a grade-scale.

    ACTING [A]
    PLOT/STORY-LINE [A]
    SPECIAL EFFECTS [A+]
    DIRECTING [C-]

Couple quirks, not sure exactly how to interpret the end scene, but not disappointed. Also it was so obvious (and borderline annoying) that the young star was trying overly hard to impersonate a young version of Bruce Willis. movie still was good though.

    Really liked it

This was definitely not a waste of a Saturday afternoon for me. Really good sci fi flick that actually makes you think a little bit. :-P The husband really liked it too and sci fi is his favorite genre so he's a tough critic. All the actors were great as well. Good stuff!!

    Amazing Thriller!

    by

This weekend I saw Looper, the futuristic thriller with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. First off, let me say this movie is amazingly well done. The plot is Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a "Looper." They receive ppl from the future to kill and get paid for it. In the future, someone referred to as "Rainmaker," is closing the loops by sending the futureself of one to themselved to kill. Bruce Willis is Joseph from the future. Bruce Willis broke free, escaped death, and tried to kill the Rainmaker as a child before he grew up and ruined his life. The special effects and gun fights are spectacular, sometimes gruesome but not over the top. Emily Blunt is an amazing actress in this movie, being a bad*** or as the sympathetic mother of her child. The ending is the real winner here. Everything about this movie is original and refreshing, definitely go see this, now.
