This movie was great

Looper is one of the movies that to me lived up to the hype. I'm glad I got to see this movie. I loved the acting and the overall visuals. It brought something unique to the sci-fi time travel genre.

Confusing movie!

The visual effects were kind of neat but overall the movie was confusing and quite a bit slow. I also thought the character development was lacking. I would wait to see this on DVD or Blu-ray.

Good movie, see Looper

Time travel movies...this one did it pretty well. J. Gordon Levitt is kicking butt these days, he does great job as early version guy - matching Bruce Willis character...as future older guy. And the little boy was smart, funny and creepy scary when he needed to be. Go see this movie.

Guess I'm The Only One Who Hated It..

But I really didn't like it. I wish they marketed it for what it WAS, I would have still seen it, but not been as excited/prepared myself for the gore. I'm not a fan of horrific things happening to children so I walked out. I read how it ended and am glad I didn't stay. I just didn't like much about this movie..

THOUGHTS ABOUT LOOPER

There are no real spoilers but I have a few thoughts that make more sense after you've seen it. If you enjoy thrillers and/or sci fi you should see Looper because it is both genres at a high level. The screenplay, acting and directing are all great. Cinematography and editing also top-notch. A shock ending too.But I WAS surprised that Paul Dano, an excellent actor, had such a tiny role. Also I didn't quite understand what happened to his character. I found that nebulous. Also, Levitt's character was definitely not a good guy yet we are supposed to identify with and root for him, which I did, but then I had to remind myself occasionally that he was really a stone killer and drug addict who seemed to love and care about nobody but himself. Last, the future gangsters' murder plan would have been much simpler and safer if they had just killed their victims before shipping them back to 2044. But then there'd be no movie!

Concept = Mindblowing

The concept is very interesting. I especially liked the direction and the cast. It was such a complicated concept but displayed in a way that made it very easy to follow. At times the filming was refreshingly realistic. The kid was UBER cute! Definitely worth seeing even if it's just to see how they made Joseph Gordon Levitt look like Bruce Willis (two of my FAVES).

wonderful movie! not only is there time travel, there's TONs of shooting, a little romance and a story worthy of all the great acting. i just loved it. Go Bruce - we're not old, just balding and heavily armed, yay

looper was awesome

It had many twists and turns. Not only did it keep you guessing but it touched me all at the same time. From moments that were so sit at the edge of your chair to omg. Total must see for everyone.

Not for me....there was some clever aspects as to anticipated futuristic changes in the world but overall it fell short in my opinion. It is good for young adults...Not for grade schoolers.

Acting was fair given the material and cinematography was so so.

I guess it could be a decent Netflix choice on a rainy afternoon....

This is not a film for everybody, but it is a really clever, intelligent and well done film. There is a great deal of violence as well as humor. The humor serves to cut the violence a bit. The acting was very good and the audience definitely became caught up in the film's characters and plot. The ending would have been difficult to predict but, in this viewer's opinion, was excellent.This is not a film that a child should attend so parents be aware.

Wow!

Being a Sci-Fi flick, let me first say this movie is not for everyone. If however, that peaks your interest then hurry up and see this movie. It's that good!
I said to my husband at the movie's conclusion, "This is the first movie in a long time that I felt like standing up and clapping." That's how much I liked it.
The cast was stellar, especially Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has come of age and is a damned fine actor. I applaud Rian Johnson for recognizing this earlier than (most of) us and writing this specifically for JGL. Bruce Willis (referred to sadly as Old Joe) is and will remain one of my faves. Emily Blunt proved she can hang with the boys and speaking of boys, Pierce Gagnon as Cid, scared the crap out of me! Good job, kid.
I won't give anything away but let me say, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! You won't either so get your popcorn and soda and hold on tight.

Good Movie something different and you have to think but it makes you think that certain events and people you meet in your life shape you to the person you are going to be very interesting movie .

An interesting failure

The key construct in this movie is that you can't get away with murder in the future, but since they have time travel, you can be kidnapped and sent to the past to be dispatched. However, by the time the movie shows that future world, people are still being killed left and right, which sort of invalidates the whole premise. Otherwise, this was a hit-and-miss collection of scenes that veered between intense emotions, exciting action and yawn-inducing boredom.

Looper is an interesting twist!

My husband and I saw this movie and we both enjoyed it! It is action packed with an interesting twist! The acting was well done with a note of humor in an otherwise dramatic action packed movie. Definitely a must go!

Looper is ...

...a well told story. I appreciated the acting and have a new respect for the young Mr. Levitt and I'll be watching his progress as an actor with great anticipation. The story as told was predictable, not in a bad way, I personally like to know where the plot leading, the ending of this move is thoroughly shocking and satisfying.
