    Warm, affectionate, loving ?? even for a dude....

    A great movie for couples. Even "dudes" (that love their ladies) can watch this with some smiles, laughs, and heart felt sentiment. Three great actors once again at their best. Meryl and Tommy are believable as a couple and as people that we all know as also "ourselves."

    Steve plays a sincere therapist, funny by default, but not by trying to act it. The trio going back n forth keep it interesting n entertaining.

    Good for the human spirit, good for staying in love with life and your partner.

    Drama not Comedy

    Like other writers I thought this would be a comedy along the lines of Meryl Streep in Its Complicated. While there are comedic moments it really is a serious movie. And it is definitely for adults only. Much of the movie is a deep dive during therapy into this unhappy couple's lives including details of their sex life. The acting was superb (Steve Carell played a serious part) but I don't think this movie would have nominations for academy awards. Its target audience is older married couples or older divorcees. No one under age 45 need attend. My test of a great movie is would I want to see it again and this one is a no.

    Hope Springs

    Great movie. Saw it with my wife and we laughed throughout the entire movie. poignant and funny because it's true. Streep and Jones are outstanding actors.
    Thought this movie was more for mature (middle age) couples, but saw several young people and teens in the theater.
    One of the best movies we've seen.

    Oh, I will see it again...

    Who else but Meryl Streep can bring us Everywoman Baby Boomer who shows and tells it exactly the way it is for most of us? The acting is phenomenal, the story is sweet and touching, and the point should be well-taken by aall of those BB guys who don't get it. Loved it, and I was one of those described on Sunday Morning today who cried at the end. BTW, the final song is the same Van Morrison that was in "Michael."

    Very good subject,great actors. I loved the cinematography and writing. Great setting and production design. A must see for anyone married. Not for kids.

    The acting of the three main characters was superb. Interesting to see Steve Carell in a more dramatic role. Being 60sh I throughly enjoyed the romance and sexual issues related to my age group, but I am not sure how much a person in a younger generation would enjoy this movie. The theater was predominantly occupied by older people who all seemed to be enjoying it. Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones were fantastic.

    I was disappointed that the movie consentrated exclusively on the main characters sexual relationship. There are other aspects that aging married couples face that could have been explored to make it more realistic than just fixating on the dsfuntional sex life of its main characters.

    Sweet and endearing movie that you want to see with your husband and

    Sweet and endearing movie that you want to see with your husband and wind up going with your mom. Too bad because you both need to be in room. Anyway go see it for a study in body language. Almost the whole film could have been watch with the mute button pressed and you will know exactly were you are in the therapy.

    I love Meryl Streep. The acting was great. So good to see Steve Carrell being serious! My marriage is nothing like theirs, but I could still relate to the characters, having known people like them.

    Great Movie! Lots of laughs. Tommy Lee Jones is fantastic and Meryl Streep is great as usual. Steve Carell who played a serious role for a change, was very believable!

    Truly a tour de force in terms of the acting -- this could easily have been a deadly dull movie despite the important issues it raises about relationships, but every moment sparkled with the expressiveness of Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones, as well as Steve Carell.

    Very Entertaining!

    I have to say that this film really shed light on relationships, whether you are newly married or in a marriage for many years. For once there is a film that the mass can relate to in one way or another. After seeing this, laughing and crying..........should bring more couples together, or at best start a conversation. With that said, bring the spouse and leave the children at home. Yes, most definitely this is not a movie for youngsters!

    Hope Springs for Seniors on the ropes of ??

    A light hearted movie with a simple message.. stay connected.. be open and above all.. know what love means.. yes, physical is part of it!

    Good cast.. a movie below their capabilities.. YET.. all playrd their roles VERY WELL.. and the subject matter is undoubtably real.. enjoyable.. you be the judge.. we laughed and could relate to some of it.. you may too!

    More Drama than Comedy

    Went to see this with my husband last night and really recommend it to those who have been married for a while. Hubby and I (married 16 years) haven't fallen into the rut, but this movie really made us aware of how it can happen over time. The drive home was really interesting and the post movie conversation was very thought provoking. The movie was very well done and the combo of Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carrell (in a serious role) worked wonderfully together. Should have been rated R though and definitely not one to see with kids.
