    Perks of Being a Wallflower

Heartbreakingly tender story of the almost unbearable pain and ecstasy of being a teenager - especially resonant for those carrying into teenhood a heavy emotional load from childhood. If you are past teenhood, it will bring you straight back. Beautifully written, acted, and directed. See it, see it, see it!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This movie is one that will stick with me for a very long time. Memorable characters that many of us can relate to and excellent portrayals by the actors involved. I've seen this film 3 times already and I could watch it again. I haven't read the book yet, but I plan to soon.

    Well worth seeing.

    by atnfan

An excellent movie with moving, nuanced performances by the lead actors. I found myself engaged and actually caring about what happens to the main characters. The film deftly handled the troubling issue of child abuse and the subsequent emotional scars left behind. Anyone who has ever felt that they didn't quite fit in will find some character to identify with.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Feel good movie about the trials of teenage life, and being on the fringe.Watson and Miller do a very good job. Leeman's role is tough.....but he pulls it off with a solid performance. Extensive, varied soundtrack with some good tunes which are not necessarily chart-toppers. Good message for life. Enjoyed the movie.

Go, go and go, share the love, learn from this...so many

Have experienced this and MORE, so how being bullied can be tuff and molested(by a close relative, not by a dirty old man with a bag of candy). Take friends, NOT for young kids. Enjoy

    Quirky Movie

The only reason i went to this movie and I had to go out of my way to do it, was to see Emma Watson. She made the movie worth it. It was a pretty strange movie, overall. A movie about a despirately confused boy who finds help and friendship that helps him through some pretty horrible challenges in his life.

    Unbelievable..

From start to finish it is evident that "Perks" doesn't try to be some huge, over-produced, money hungry monster. It was made for those who are in love with the book, and it is an excellent portrayal.

Not exactly "Breakfast Club" for 21st Century

This was a great coming of age movie for high school misfits; the not really seen but always in the outside looking in. The subject matter is very dark and somewhat disturbing. But overall, the movie presented the subject matter in a realistic manner and over all the movie was enjoyable.

    Better than the book

I took my husband to see it for his birthday ( its one of his favorite books) and he is still trying to decide which he likes better. Charlie is perfect and Emma as Sam is pretty great too. She was really good and I wasn't thinking where's Harry the whole time. Such a great movie. You won't be disappointed.

This movie reminded me how painful high school was!

    by pedsarq

We were all awkward freshmen and cool seniors once upon a time. This movie nails the high school experience and will bring back some wonderfully painful memories. There's plenty of music, partying, first-time sex, and abuse in this movie. Go see it because you'll get to relive some of those experience while watching a terrifically crafted film.

    Beautiful Depiction of the Book

    by

This movie was perfect. I'm so happy I got to see it and that the author directed it. It was so beautiful it brought me to tears, just like the novel did. I'm sure i'm going to go see it again. I'm still thinking about it. I loved it. Please go, I reccomend reading the book first; but definitely a must see...

    Amazing Illustration of Adolescence

    by

I knew very little about this movie before seeing it, but it sounded interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did.

This is one of the most REAL movies I've seen about teen life. From the opening moment, I identified completely with Charlie. I remembered well the painful days of being a high school misfit and all the drama that comes with being an adolescent.

The plot and characterization is wonderful and I loved the story within the story about Charlie's past and what's bothering him. The use of flashback to gradually reveal what's going on allowed us to break down along with Charlie and really experience his inner world. The film also had a good balance of humor despite its overall darkness. The theme's overall theme about the importance of self-esteem and love make it not only a powerful film but also an uplifting one.
