    Great Adaptation

    by izzepie

This movie was exactly what I wanted it to be from the book. All of the essential points from the book were very well incorporated. I absolutely loved this movie. Definitely a must see, but I would advise reading the book before hand.

Great acting in a great movie

The actors in this well directed movie were all excellent. It was told from the teenagers viewpoint and the adults had very little dialog. This movie was one of the best movies of the year and I think it should not be forgotten when oscar nominations are being selected. . You will be so engrossed in the movie that you will not be not even be tempted to look at your watch. GO SEE IT and enjoy!

I even reached for a tissue.

    by

Seriously, I am like Cameron Diaz in The Holiday when it comes to shedding a tear, but this movie melted my heart a little bit. I also saw this with my mom, which might be part of the problem. All jokes aside, I think the cast was perfect. I hate to say "perfect" because that is such an absolute term but they really were. The audience was so enthralled, they wanted to jump up and down at the first sight of a victory, but also wanted to hold someone's hand during the difficult moments. Go see this!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO SEE THIS

Logan Lerman needs an Oscar for this. The movie needs tons of Oscars for this. Perks of Being a Wallflower is by far the best book to movie adaptation I have ever seen. The acting is amazing. The storyline is as fantastic as it was in the book. I absolutely love it. It's one of my favorite movies now. It deserves every penny and every award it will earn in the future. Will not disappoint fans of the book at all!

Happy To Be Standing On The Wall

This is a movie for anyone who has ever felt odd, alone, or misunderstood, for anyone who has ever had grief, pain, trauma, or hardship in their lives. The performances in this movie are top notch. The underlying subject matter is absolutely powerful. This movie is about the connections in our lives. . . those that we desperately need as well as those that harm us. Anyone who has ever felt that they view the world in a unique way will surely relate to this movie. Anyone who has ever sought out a true friend will be touched by the story - so bring your tissues. If you are an intellectual, a romantic, or an outcast - you will love it! It certainly resonated with me.

    Touching and Uplifting

    by

Made me feel like I was back in high school without coming across as trite or overdone. The acting was excellent and so was the music. Reminded me of Garden State a bit. See my full review at: [BLOCKED WEBSITE]

    Worth Watching

Excellent score, well acted, fairly true to the book- thoroughly enjoyable- though the parts that were left out (IMO) would have spoken to Charlie's relationships with his siblings.
As a child of the 80's it was such a treat to hear the Smiths in a sountrack again!

    A bittersweet tale

    by L80Vol

This movie is an appealing addition to the "how-awful-is-high school" genre. The performances of the main characters and the supporting cast are at points compelling, and they carry the story. The plot details are revealed slowly, which helps hold audience interests. I recommend seeing it once. I am not sure it's worth seeing multiple times, however.

    This movie was really touching

This movie was sad, and really funny at times. It was a lot sadder than I thought it was going to be, but overall it was fantastic. I laughed and nearly cried many times. Charlie's relationship with Sam was really touching, but the best part was probably seeing Patrick dressed up as Tim Curry's character from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

    Teenagers should see this!

Fantastic movie about teenagers during the school year. It shows how difficult it can be to be different and to try to make friends. The main character has a heartbreaking story and he finds help from his new friends.
The soundtrack is great and Paul Rudd has an uncredited role as a teacher we all wish we had.
Good for all ages over 10 or so.

I can't say enough about this movie.

    by

I haven't seen a movie like this in a long time. It is absolutely incredible. The entire cast is exactly how I pictured them to be when I read the book. You feel everything right along with the characters, and the story is extremely touching. GO SEE IT!!! Worth every penny.

    worth it

    by

I loved this book and read it several times in high school. I was apprehensive about seeing this movie because I knew it would never compare to the book. There were only minor differences between the two. Great movie!!

This movie reminded me how painful high school was!

    by pedsarq

We were all awkward freshmen and cool seniors once upon a time. This movie nails the high school experience and will bring back some wonderfully painful memories. There's plenty of music, partying, first-time sex, and abuse in this movie. Go see it because you'll get to relive some of those experience while watching a terrifically crafted film.
