    Incredibly Beautiful Movie

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time and one to which everyone, no matter your age, will relate. Funny, sad, tragic and uplifting all in one movie. The book was excellent, yet the movie somehow makes this classic story more rounded out and real. The direction, the cinematography and the music set all the appropriate moods. The best thing though is the acting. Ezra Miller was great, Logan Lerman was heartwrenching as Charlie, and Emma Watson should silence any doubters about whether she can act beyond Potter with a wonderful, emotive portrayal of Sam. Logan and Emma were great together. Supporting cast was good as well. A must see.

    Great Adaptation

    by izzepie

This movie was exactly what I wanted it to be from the book. All of the essential points from the book were very well incorporated. I absolutely loved this movie. Definitely a must see, but I would advise reading the book before hand.

    worth the time

It was engaging. Didn't want to leave to go to the bathroom. I cared about the characters. It was fun and emotional. A little unrealistic or overplayed at times, but it is fiction. Definitely worth a watch.

Perks of being a wall flower

Well directed, well acted. Good portrayal of student life in upper middle class high school. Treatment of gay behavior was spot on and refreshing. Good show.

I even reached for a tissue.

    by

Seriously, I am like Cameron Diaz in The Holiday when it comes to shedding a tear, but this movie melted my heart a little bit. I also saw this with my mom, which might be part of the problem. All jokes aside, I think the cast was perfect. I hate to say "perfect" because that is such an absolute term but they really were. The audience was so enthralled, they wanted to jump up and down at the first sight of a victory, but also wanted to hold someone's hand during the difficult moments. Go see this!!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

    by

If you've read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chobsky, then you know that this film could be either Fantastic or Absolutely Dreadful. Mr. Chobsky himself wrote the screenplay so I think you can guess at how it turned out. If you loved the movies The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire, then this movie is a Must-See! The acting was superb and the writing was very close to the novel. This is most certainly the next-best teen movie.

    Beautiful Depiction of the Book

    by

This movie was perfect. I'm so happy I got to see it and that the author directed it. It was so beautiful it brought me to tears, just like the novel did. I'm sure i'm going to go see it again. I'm still thinking about it. I loved it. Please go, I reccomend reading the book first; but definitely a must see...

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Must say was not really sure what I was going to see when I went to this movie.
It was really terrific though. I think this movie reminds me of Pretty In Pink in a way. I thought that the actors in the movie were very good and the subject matter was approached discreetly.
I think that this would be a movie appropriate for young adults.

    Fabulous movie

This was not the light comedy about the awkward growing up years that I thought it was. For those from the era of Ordinary People it reminded me of that movie with a much more inspiring and hopeful story. The characters were FABULOUS and this was just an awesome movie.

    Touching and Beautiful

I did not know this book, but I was so touched by this tale of high school misfits that I think at this point it is the best movie I have seen this year. I saw this based on Anderson Cooper's recommendation on his talk show. Logan Lerrnan was such a fully defined, disturbed 16 years old that his scenes were tissue talkers. This young actor brought such pathos and depth to the character that Oscar should be looking his way. The other actors defined thier characters brilliantly.
The music was wonderful, but I still cannot find out who sing the opening song to the film..lovely song reminiscent of edgy Everly Brothers. This is not your typical coming of age made for tv drama, this is an excellent piece of work, sometimes heartbreaking and often joyous. I loved this movie. Kudos to the Director...

A real-life peek of our world today

    by leamu

Really well done and not the usual special effects, foul language or abundant sex that so many other movies need to just be OK. A surprising story line - revealed toward the end of the movie - and characters that don't require a lot of immagination to believe. Really, for everyone.

    Amazing Illustration of Adolescence

    by

I knew very little about this movie before seeing it, but it sounded interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did.

This is one of the most REAL movies I've seen about teen life. From the opening moment, I identified completely with Charlie. I remembered well the painful days of being a high school misfit and all the drama that comes with being an adolescent.

The plot and characterization is wonderful and I loved the story within the story about Charlie's past and what's bothering him. The use of flashback to gradually reveal what's going on allowed us to break down along with Charlie and really experience his inner world. The film also had a good balance of humor despite its overall darkness. The theme's overall theme about the importance of self-esteem and love make it not only a powerful film but also an uplifting one.

The perks was fantastic... I'm so glad it was directed by the author himself. It could have not been done better. I cried, laughed, and felt the characters pain. MUST GO SEE!!!!
