A decent action movie, but i felt that the plat was not as well built as the original Taken. There wasn't alot of character development, and the thrill of the hunt was not nearly as large a piece of the plot as in Taken. Also, the first Taken brought a serious social and political problem to light (human trafficking). Overall, it was a good action movie for adults 18-35. However, it was little more than an action movie this time around.

Disappointment (taken 2)

This taken can not hold a candle to part 1. If anyone has seen part 1, you would notice all the flaws in part 2.
Honestly the only good part of the movie was when the daughter was following the direction of her father.
For one the action was far too limited. there was way too many camera tricks that you could not even see what was going on.

Overall the movie was bland. And based off of grades, I would give it an "F"... a "D-" if I didnt watch part 1.

YOU WILL BE TAKEN FOR A RIDE WITH THIS ANEMIC SEQUEL OF "TAKEN"!

A great looking cast cannot save this action flick from resonating as one of the top "bombs" of the year; nonsensical, implausible, laughably ridiculous. Liam Nesson, ageing nicely, is again recreating the role of "Bryan Mills" an ex-CIA operative; "Taken" revolved around the kidnapping of his daughter "Kim" (Maggie Grace) by an Albanian sex trafficking cabal; titillating, spine-tingling scenario made this a fun, fascinating movie experience...

"Taken 2" had a difficult time deciding on who was to be "taken"; Mills? Ex-wife, "Lenore" (Famke Jansson)? Kim? Actually after twenty minutes, it hardly mattered. It is spring break and mother/daughter surprise Mills in Istanbul, Turkey; they are being stalked by the father and his fraternity killers, seeking revenge for the death of sons/brothers killed by Mills in "Taken"...

1 & 1/2 STARS!!

Great continuation of first movie "Taken". Starts off in line where first movie ended and stops at a
Iegitimate end

Must see eecially if you saw the original.

TAKEN 2 was better then the Skyfall movie

I saw 2 movies this wkend, Nov.9th and 11th. I saw this movie and thought it was great movie, then I went to see Skyfall. I was very disappointed in that movie. Skyfall was very slow, and Taken 2 had alot more action.

Bit cheesy ok

Poor special effects and a-team style car flips. Liam seem to be a complete control freak in the film which gets a little annoying. We saw as nothing else was on... was 'ok'.

Should this b the end of sequels

Somehow I feel the this movie tainted the first one. The movie started slow and continued slowly. Action was crisp but not captivating. I only counted two inconsistencies but they were very obvious. I won't b adding this to the home collection.

Very very good, it kept your attention even in the "slow" moments, the time went so fast that it was over before we realized that an 1 1/2 hours had already gone by.

If You Liked the First One

I can't think of a sequel that was ever as good as the first. Taken was a great movie and Taken 2 is almost as good. Neeson is in Turkey on a job when his ex-wife and daughter surprise him and they decide to spend a few days in the city together. What they don't know is the father of one of the Albanias he killed in the first movie is after him to avenge his son's death and they plan to kidnap all three of them, but can't find the daughter after Neeson tips her off. The rest of the movie deals with him and his wife being able to get away or not. I won't reveal anymore, because I think you need to go see for yourselves. Lots of action, and keeps your attention just like the first one.

Like all action movies... There is a signifcant amount of "Over the Top" scenes. However... The story and suspence created allows one to shake it off quickly. One does NOT need to see the first TAKEN to enjoy it. With that said... The first one is very good and should be watched anyway.

Non-stop Action

If you liked Taken, you'll love Taken 2. More chases, more fights, more Liam doing what he does so well. I think it's a little violent for PG13 though. There is one scene especially that I wouldn't want my 13 year old to see. Once in your mind, some of these scenes can't be erased.

Its good...Could have been better

I'm a die hard Liam Neeson Fan so my opinion could be biased. He comes up with his usual strong dialogue delivery and making an impression right from the word go.
This part is not as good as the first one, because the first one had that unpredictability about it which made it extra special. The plot in this movie is decent but sometimes it fails to grip the person watching it. But Liam Neeson comes out once again in flying colors.

If you are fan of action and want a decent watch GO for it.

You may love the first one better but you have never seen anything like this! An action packed film filled with a vengeance! Don't mess with LIam Neeson (Bryan Mills).

Even Better than the First

I love Liam and see everything he's in so I was expecting Taken 2 to be good but was pleasantly surprised that it was even better than the first. It's usually hard for a movie to match up to it's first, but this one is more complex, has alot of action and no slow moments. You can't guess what's going to happen and won't want to let your eyes leave the screen. Excellent movie all around.

The critics blew it again, as usual!

Taken 2 was GREAT! Filled with excitement, terrific acting, and enough twists and turns to keep you paying close attention. Liam Neeson is precisely The Man, as you knew he would be, but the story takes a slight turn when the kidnapping(s) aren't what they apppeared to be. Maggie Grace gives a splendid performance, having come into her own since the first edition, she's a beautiful and feisty, independent power to be dealt with, and proves to be more than a handful for her assailants. Famke Janssen's appearance is standard but ample. All in all, this is EXACTLY the film the sequel should have been...and way more! Must GO!!
