    Awful

If they make another Die Hard movie I'm just going to flush $12 bucks down the toilet and watch the original.

The franchise has devolved from the story of a lone hero who triumphs over impossible odds (with no shoes) to a stereotypical bland, over the top, boring action movie.

The story was weak and the action was so ridiculous it was impossible, at least for me, to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy it. The Die Hard franchise has lost its way and I hope that they hang it up and retire the series.

    Plenty Action

    by hyee

There was a lot of action going on in the movie. The story was okay, not as great as the other Die Hard movies. The action was one of the best of all Die Hard. So much special effects have been put into it. The length of the movie is not as long as the other Die Hards, but enough for the action provided. You will not be sleeping through this one due to the explosions, gun fights, and cars smashing into everything. I would recommend this movie to those who just like action and not really into the plot.

A Good Day to Die Hard

I love watching Bruce Willis & have enjoyed all the previous Die Hard movies, but this one was a disappointment. For the most part this was just car chases & explosions, peppered with massive gun power & profanity. I really missed some of the comedy we saw in the earlier films.

It's Still Great to Die Hard!!!!

Great non-stop action. Die Hard franchise has done it again. I hope they have another one soon. Jai Courtney is very good and Bruce Willis is still great. Must see film!!!!

Let's just forget this and move on to Die Hard 6

    by RYPD

The quickest review of this movie is that it IS equivalent to Jurassic Park 3....yeah, that disappointing. Did not hate the movie though. Let's move on. I've written a treatment for the next Die Hard. It returns to what made the first one so incredible as well as a return to the true character of John McClane. He has his kids back, so there no reason for him to let work get in the way anymore. John retires. At his retirement dinner at an NYPD precinct, John is celebrated. Even Holly comes. When John is in the bathroom, cleaning his pants after spilling something on them, terrorists raid the precinct (much like Assault on Precinct 13) and John is forced to move silently throughout the building and save the day with help from his kids. The terrorist is Hans Grueber's son. John has to give himself up to free his family and the hostages. Once they're out, with a "Yippe Ki Ay," John blows the building with c4 he has acquired, killing himself and the terrorists. This movie would ROCK! Like?

Not what I expected from a Die Hard movie

To me Die hard always meant a decent story with some laughs splashed around awesome explosions. What I got with this movie were explosions that got repetitive and a whiny father-son bonding story.

A Good Day to Die Hard

I thought this was fantastic. The special effects was amazing. Over 100 cars destroyed.
Bruce Willis has always been my favorite since Moonlighting with Sybil Sheppard. He always
(no matter what movie) has a comedic tone and expression. This is a must see if you like action films.

Looking for Action?? This is your movie.

I wouldn't say it was the best Die Hard, but it was certainly entertaining. My husband, father and I are action fans and this certainly fit the bill.

It's exactly what it sets out to be

    by

There's action, there are some laughs, there are some explosions. It's a Die Hard movie plain and simple. If you!'re a fan of the genre, you'll be entertained. If you're looking for a cinematic masterpiece with layers of depth, you won't find it here.
But my advice is to just sit back and enjoy the wise-cracking John McClane get into trouble and kill a bunch of bad guys. That's what I did, and it was great.

Way day ISN'T a Good Day To Die Hard

As I sat in the theater watching the previews of the upcoming movies showing, my wife turns to me and says, "I can't believe that we are here to see the fifth movie in a series". As I thought about this, I agreed. Yet every Die Hard movie keeps you full throttle in action, great special effects, and story lines. Bruce Willis can still pull these off after 17 years. We were both impressed with the new edition, and look forward to #6!!!!! For anyone who likes action films, this is a must go.

    Disappointing

Went to the movie hoping so see a companion to Live Free or Die Hard. This movie was awful. Lots of action but the dialog was stiff and forced and the plot implausible. I'm surprised Bruce Willis signed on to this project...he has enough experience to know better.

    PASSING OF THE TORCH?

Action packed from the start and you can tell that Bruce is getting old but it was a great side kick role to his son. I think if they keep making die hard movies this could be a passing of the torch to Jr. Great story and its still not better than Die Hard with a Vengeance! I am on vacation was the highlight and wish they would of had his wife in some point of the movie and it would of made for a great reunion movie. Heartfelt ending and great movie overall!

    It needed help..

Simple plot... but maybe a little too simple. This felt like a made for tv movie.. missing that old school die hard feel. I was disappointed. Yes, the action scenes were cool but it kinda made the characters feel like they were Marvel superheros in training.. Idk.. what happened~

Excellent action scenes...but radiation part is BS

    by npd4866

The action scenes were excellent and non stop from the start. The plot twists several times and the movie kept my attention. There were some moments where it defenitely became a "hollywood" movie...action scenes that are entertaining but not very realistic. I hate to break it to you...you can't go to an area with that much radiation and hang out for hours. That part of the movie was devoid of reality...but most people are just there to be entertained. I left feeling entertained...I'd give it a 8-9 on action scenes and a 5 on reality on some scenes. Yippie Ki Ya...MFers!!!
